The problem is that if you give complete access to what the palettes are, what the clothes possibilities are, etc. then we basically become walking tailor terminals. Part of what makes tailoring fun and challenging is learing to make what the client wants without lots of remakes simply by talking to them.
I've found that 9 times out of 10, the customer has no clue what they want, and they have no idea what the names for the non-primary colors are. One woman I had in insisted she wanted something made in a dark brick red. No problem. But yet she wasn't satisfied. Finally I made her something in burgandy and she was happy. Brick red and burgandy are two very different reds to most tailors. And so we are still stuck remaking items and wasting time and resources on customers who are clueless as to what out palettes contain and how certain items are not able to be made in certain colors.
I don't see any fun in talking to a customer who insists that his or her outfit just won't look right without bright red boots. Grrr lol

LOL I agree
I get that all the time. I tell them sorry we cannot make them at this time, and refer them to a pair of red composite armor or padded armor boots.
I wholeheartedly agree! Some of my most difficult custom clothing customers have become tailors, even if for a short period of time, just so they could see what was out there for them to make. Usually later I'll get an apology from them for being so demanding. ![]()
I think their punishment should be to run through Theed or Coronet with their master Tailor tag on. Ack, I wouldn't do that to my worst enemy!
I always think that people who are obesessed with clothes and always having the perfect look shoudl become tailors.

I completely, whole heartedly agree. It sucks the FUN outta tailoring and then no one would shop from vendors anymore, they'd ALL want custom fittings!!! ick
More than likely if something like that ever made it into the game... I'd be done tailoring in a heartbeat!!!! Of course I'd make myself clothes for life first. Seriously... that makes MORE work. It is very hard to FIND an image designer (since the changes), if this went live I'm afraid there would be very few tailors.

I don't quite understand what you mean. Are you saying that you don't make any credits from tailoring? That's all wrong. It's true that all other crafting professions have more money in it, but tailors aren't broke. One day I made over 100k and during five days I also made 100k, on selling normal clothes.
I'm not so sure I think it's a good idea. But then I think you would have to be the faction which armor you want to craft. And to wear it would probably require you to be overt. Then it wouldn't be so covet and not sell much.

No i myself am not a tailor but this is an idea that would Give tailors an item that would be more sought after, it would also pull tailors into the Galatic Civil war (factional Tailors) without haveing them be in PvP or PvE.
Im not argueing some tailors make money im just giveing something new and that decays to where its not useful anymore that people would buy again.

Faction Uniforms is fine, but leave armour to armoursmiths.
Skill mods would be good, but not armour rating and resists.
And as for low market.... I probably need not debate on the money issue as most tailors simply do not worry about this but i will anyway, because im on a nightshift and im bored.
All crafters start of slow and gain more income as they gain reputation in their chosen proffession, crafters require patience to make a name and to hence make money, and thats just the start of things. Tailors are probably one of the slowest to get going, ive never been as dedicated to another crafting proffession to really compare.
Fact is someone can become a Tailor and play for one month, surrender with the impression tailors are not big money makers. A Tailor for 16 months may tell you they have so much money that money means nothing to them anymore, And that they simply enjoy being a tailor. But the same can probably be said about any crafter.
Not saying all tailors are broke but i am saying for the newer tailors (i myself am not one) its hard for them to break into the buisness simply because the world is flooded with clothes that do not decay(i guess you could make them decay and poof but that would start an uproar that id not like to go into) and dissapear from the game.
This idea would not replace Armorsmith in anyways and you could even lower the Resist on there to say 25% if need be and if you must involve Armorsmith make it so you need to buy Kenetic resist components or whatever youd like, why not even make it only 1 special resist may go into it but just an idea that would add more Factional uniforms into the game that people would wear other than just for roleplaying purposes.
