The YT is a cargo ship. Anything the Imperials needed moved that was not important enough to send a Lambda or Star Destroyer was likely moved in a YT. Anything the Rebels needed to move was probably also done in a YT, since they're inconspicuous. EVERYONE had them.

Sure, everyone uses the YT-1300 to carry cargo, that's why all the freighters we see in space are YT's.... oh wait...
I would be HIGHLY surprised if the Empire doesn't have their own freighters. Rebels have the Nova Courier, which I assume by the name means it transports things.

Six films. 13 hours. How many YT's do you see? I must be blind 'cus apperently EVERYONE was fying them. Hell Yoda's was a mini one and was green. Please if you're gonna try to make arguments about WHY Rebel and Imperial Pilots should have a YT1300 use FACTS not what you THINK was happening. I know this is a pointless argument because whatever we say you'll still want one.
If you want one that bad drop what ever Ace you're now, tell me what server your on and I'll make a mule, wing you through the squad and buy you the bloody chassi! Oh but then you won't be able to fly the other ships. Hmm that's not very fair is it. Tell you what I'll buy you another account then you can fly both and I won't have to read anymore made upstuff YAY!!! Everyones a winner

Actually, I'm an RSF ace at the moment, so I could fly one. And don't think for a moment you need to "wing" me through anything, you insufferable little twit. I've Aced six squadrons so far by myself, and I shouldn't think that I would need help from someone as dimwitted as you to get the rest.
Now, if you had bothered to look at the Star Wars universe for even a moment past the movies, you would find that the YT-1300 is pretty much the standard light freighter in the galaxy. There is a reason that Han Solo uses it as a smuggling ship. It looks generic. The YT-1300 is 30 years old at this point, meaning that they are not only just about everywhere, but they're pretty cheap, too. Pretty much anyone could get their hands on one, not just smugglers (I'll let you come up with the argument about why two planetary police forces and a group of smugglers all use the same ships, my brain won't make leaps of logic that far fetched).

Sorry about the winging comment I've had people making facts up all day at work and I come back to yet another made up fact. I'm sorry. But PLEASE show me, in any of the films (Books, Comics have as much reference to star wars as the Pez heads I've still got, fans write it, well some arn't even fans they just get the licences from lucas) all these bloody YT's!!!
PS Only 6 Aces?

I started this character on the 26th of June, and I play on Bria (which makes the Titanic seem reasonably stable). I'll get there, give me a few more weeks.
If we're limiting ourselves to movies, then Lok, Dantooine, Dathomir, and Corellia all need to be removed. So do most of the melee professions, combat medics, rangers, bio-engineers, Z-95s, pretty much every Freelance ship, and both the Nova and the Decemator. You pretty much have to look at the EU in a game like this, and not just the parts you like. The EU has made it clear that the YT-1300 is a standard ship available to pretty much anyone who wants one, and that it is widely used because it is so customizable. Your argument against that (from back on page one) is "But it's the only movie ship we get". And I'm sorry, but that doesn't measure up against the reality of the situation. Yeah, Freelancers got screwed over a bit on iconic ships, but when you consider that the movies did focus on the Rebellion and the Empire, not everyone else, that does seem rather reasonable.
Of course, I'm not totally against Frelancers. In my mind, the Z-95, Y-wing, and X-wing should be available to everyone, too. These are not ships that are hard to come by in the Star Wars Universe. Yes, the Rebellion used them, but they were far from the only ones, as we see in game. RSF are seen flying them, so are Nym's people, as well as several smaller pirate groups.

Dantoonie can stay.
Okay I see your point, but can you tell me the books/comics I should read that stated that around the time SWG is set, every Tom,Richard (lol bad wordfilter won't let meshorten the name)and Harry had a YT1300 rusting in their backyard that were fighting against the empire or had a job as an imperial pilot?

I'd start with the Essential Guide to Vehicles and Vessels, personally. I think that should clarify how widely used the YT is.

Can you tell me the paragraph that states most rebel and imperial pilots flew one? (because that's what we're talking about isn't it, not how many were available, we're talking about Imperial and Rebel pilots)

I'm not saying that it says they all flew one. I'm saying that there is was and should not be anything stopping them from flying one if they should so choose. This thing is like the minivan of the Star Wars universe (or maybe SUV would be a better comparison these days). Good for moving people, good for moving stuff, pretty much good for everything. You don't have to contact some sort of secret supplier to get them, nor are they military-grade gear. There is no reason to limit them to only a single group of smugglers and the police force for two planets. THAT doesn't make sense.

Well thats the exact point really. The Army wouldn't use a 30 year old ford tranny to send suplies into a war zone. To unreliable. If you're a Rebel in space your only objective is to destory the empires fleet. If you're a Imperial in space, you're only objective is to defend the empire and hunt the traitors against your empire. If you're a Rebel and you want to do a bit of taxi work, you go Rebel on the ground and Newt in space. If you're an imperial that fancys a little bit of spice trafficing (SP?) on the side, you're not gonna join the navy are you? Hell no, they'll want all your time to be spent hunting scum, so you stay Imperial on the ground and Newt in space. And by an amazing chance, that's how SWG works!!!
