Even though Obi-wan owned an Eta-2? As for rebels gaining access to the Eta, we are terrorists afterall, so why can't we go covert opps and steal some? That's how we played it, a group of us all went imp and did the mission. We all had to drop Master Pilot, and Colonel, so I think we worked hard enough to get that ship and certainly enough to warrent flying it, seeing as we all have the cert to fly the thing.

I'd actually like to see MORE cross-faction ships. Not top of the line fighters, though. Stuff like the YT. Maybe the Z-95, too. Transport ships, cargo ships, various non-factional ships. Hell, more ships in general.

Oh waaa. I did the same thing for the ARC, took about a week. While I was there I mastered the rebel squadrons. Make whatever arguments you want, but don't even try to claim that gaining either ship is hard work. In fact, these are two of the easier quests in game, especially regarding the payout. While you're complaining, pay attention to why and how the ship is introduced into the game.
Sorry about the comment about the YT...but it is...ya know....a civillian ship... I don't think everyone should share it, just ships like it. If they were going to implement cross faction vessels, they should have been basic civy ships of some sort. Not, as Treana said, top of the line fighters.

Sorry, I get a bit defensive about the YT when people just class it asa civi ship and everyone should have one. The thing is the YT is the only ship thats Newt only andthat's in any of the films!. And bearing that in mind, thats why NO ONE beside us pirates should have one!
PS It should come with a Wookie Co-Pilot.

It's also a very cool and iconic ship (although I never got along with mine) - so I do apologize for that comment.
What if we all had...um...bulk freighters! Yeah, that's it!

Newt = Neautral IE Freelance.
Rebs get the Wings
Imps get the Ties
Newts get ONE ship out of all the films. If thats not justification I don't know what is.

Umm... the YT-1300 IS a civillian ship. It's a modified transport ship and nothing more. What does "Newt" mean, in that sentance, anyway? And how does it justify only pirates flying a ship that pretty much was the moneymaker for one of the biggest shipyards in the galaxy?
He's saying its the only movie ship we Newts (aka, Freelancers) get. All the rest are made up by SOE. Therefor it is sorta special for Freelancers and should be preserved for us. Anyone can get the Firespray and all the rest so keep at least one movie ship for us only. =)

Sorry, not buying it. The YT-1300 was mass produced. It was pretty much the standard in cargo transport for its time. Your argument of "it's the only ship from the movies we get to ourselves" really doesn't hold up against that.

Okay YT1300 was mass produced. Now let me ask you this, in the star warsuni do you think theres more YT's than TIE variants?

No. Absolutely not. TIEs were thrown away by the thousands. They were built to be exceptionally limited use ships. However, there were definately more YT-1300s than there were Firesprays. They also would outnumber X-wings, Lambdas, and pretty much any other ship you could name.

Z-95s were plenty available as well, probably more than the YT since they're cheaper to build. Its not like this game follows the storyline anyway. The YT is ours.
Most of the rebel ships are supposedly pretty available considering they're cheap and out of date. The fact that they're easily obtained is why the rebels use them.

Okay lets try this from a roleplay point of view.
Imps join the navy to kill rebel scum (Why would they want a civicargo ship)
Rebs join the forces to wipe out Imp bone heads (Why would they want a civi cargo ship)
Newts don't join anything 'cus they want to smuggle and steal stuff (I think they'd quite like a cargo ship)

Gaining the ship is easy, the grind back to master Pilot and colonel took me 2 days for master and 3 for colonel. But at least I had to do something to get it, rather than buy a deed like you can for the B-22. We all get the cert to fly the thing, and as it's not a faction ship why shouldn't anyone get to fly it? You can argue that we get the A-wing. I'm sorry, but the A-Wing doesn't even stand up to the JSF as far as manouverability goes regards less of what engine you put into it. And why was the ship introdcued into the game? Because it ROTW was a piggy-back to the movie and it's a damned good selling feature. Obi-Wan flew one as well, and if you read the back ground. Anakin lost both his, where as Obi-wan actually flew his to Kasyyk, and had R-4 fly it back to avoid detection, so if anyone should have an old chassis hanging around, it's the rebs.
