Yes get sliced for effectiveness imperial PSG's. They should protect up to 50+ stun dmg along with a few other dmg types.

As for the kiting.... run the other way. Try to find cover. If you arn't around anywhere you can hide, still run the other way keeping 70+ meters away. When he (burst running) runs towards you... closing the range, burst run towards him and then lunge +dizzy.

Keep any/all states on him if possible, try to find some terrain negotiation attachments (I have a +5 and it makes a big difference) or take up some scout to get the terrain nego from there. Another alternative would be to pick up 0004 tka for the added range defense bonuses, and getting some Aukuan Rings (+5 range defense on each and they stack). Oh, and don't overlook the Lightweight Military Backpack, it adds 3 to range defense too. It doesn't matter how much damage he does if he can't hit you Hope this helps.

I have been getting into alot of PvP lately, and have found that fencer, being how it is can take out most every profession with the right secondary profession, or by itself even. I am currently a Master Doctor& Master Fencer, and when fighting the template Master Pistoleer & BH Pistols 4 (which has become a very popular template on my server; Valcyn) even with a 42% stun helmet, when "He" (Oppenent with the above template) attempts to burst run, and kite me, with the eye shot, plain and simple I still get owned.

Any opinions on how to fight that, being that I don't have master bralwer that I do have to use Dizzy, then lunge instead of lunge to and Kding quicker......?

Thank You

I suggest trying out running in the opposite direction and looking for terrain and buildings to use to your advantage when a ranged attempts to kite - especially with a burst run. If you save your burst runand wait them out, the next time you are close, you will be guaranteed to get within good attack range.

Then, after that, I guess I'd suggest all the regular stuff-a good imperial psg will help to reduce damage for awhile, with your doc kills make sure to have your cure states macroed, make sure yourCOB macro is running, try to get your blind on him quickly in order to reduce his accuracy, and then try to intimidate him to reduce his damage.

Good luck - I think you have a very powerful set of professions.

Buildings, public cities(npc cities, theed, coro, etc)

BReak line of sight, very important.

If their bh/pistolierrre terrain wont help, buildings, force them to come close range, the only problem is, pistols arnt penalized (much) at close range, so expect him to hit every time with that spec. However, Dizzy+Lunge1 is not good for a bh/pistolierre, any melee isnt.

Once their grounded, scatterslam em, we get 15% bonus to ranged classes now=P

1. Stay centered, he wont hit you a whole lot. You also may want to eat some dodge food.

2. use buildings or whatever to break the LOS and make him come to you.

3. have burstrun/follow hotkeyed or on your toolbar.

4. use lunge attacks, only need to be within 20m's for this one.

5. Good armour, and PSG's

If I were to be PvPing, (dueling) as a Master Fencer and Master of another melee profession, would it be viable to be doing the majority of fighting one-handed for defensive purposes but then switching at some moments to another weapon to do more damage and then switching back? Is this worth the trouble? Will that moment leave my defenses open long enough to get clobbered? Any help is appreciated.

depends what that other master is:
tka: maybe
swordsman: only if their mind is ridicously low
pikeman: if you have a good dot pike yes, otherwise maybe

stay one handed, stun baton is your best friend, unless your opponent is unarmoured, then use your best damage sliced gaffi. your best chance is to dizzy2+lunge1 in one handed, posture change kd, then *most* of the time he's yours, i say most cos there are docs that cure themselves of their states.

defenses will stack but most not past +125, so using the dizzy kd from tka, or dizzy+lunge from fencer wont make a difference. did i say the stun baton was your friend?

tka with fencer is the best combo....if they have stun resit armor you can bust out tka

of course you could just forget bein a fencer and be a mcm/rifleman....that fotm template works no matter what they are wearing or what defenses you have

it does depend. If u have an uber stun baton do u want to waste the condioning on normal things, No. Do tera kasi plus it gives u defenses and the almighty yoda meditate

Hi. When I get a temp flag for doing rebel destroy missions, Imp players show up as white
dots on the map, and are not hostile. I am hostile to them though I believe, since they can target me really fast, I'm guessing they are auto targeting me, when they see a red dot appear on the map. Is this how it is suppose to be? I can't auto target them, yet they can kill me. Im worried my character might be bugged. Thanks for any info.

Yup, this is how it's supposed to work

Overt players get "first strike advantage" over players who are only TEF'd, you can't attack them until (and unless) they attack you first.
