And on another note to someone else.: QFE means Quoted For Emphasis.

While I like the idea about riding the shuttle through space, the sad fact is that you'll have people who get up there, just to duel with lag inducing weapons.

Good grief, do you realise how long I've been trying to figure out what that meant?! QFE, QFE, QFE! lol I kept seeing it all over and had no idea what it meant... jeez...

4 real same here.. I been trying to crack the code in my own brain finally its revealed...
2 the original author, i didnt even make it 1/2 way through the post and I am already highly agreeing with the idea. Cuz your a rebel right (Luke and Ben) you need to make it off tatooine and not better to find a freelance pilot at (Mos Eisly Cantina) to get you to say... Naboo, and get past Imperial patrols (NPC tie fighters) OMG dude i'm reading the whole thing soon but seein EP3 finally g2g but yea this ideaa I love it cuz if your a reb, you need to look for transport and it should be dificult.... I love it but sadly it wont fly w/ many players already set on the convience as travel as we know it now- a couple mouse clix,,.

I miss the "choke point" of the shuttle waitI liked the big huddled mass of people around the droid, duelling chatting and carrying on. It was like a party every 10 minutes.
very much agree. it also effected combat in that if someone was seperated from his friends you had time to kill him and get the heck out of dodge before they got there. There was a time when shuttle waits were a very important (if sometimes annoying) part of rp and pvp. If you planned it right you could distract the enemy on say lok which would alow you to complete a mission on Rori. Now you're never more than 2 minutes maximum away from a fight (roughly the amount of time it takes for a Jedi to come off avoid incap).
Shuttle waits were also an integral part of the social aspects of the game plus it was a built in time out. You had 10 minutes to stop and talk or head to the bathroom, catch up with friends, ect. Not to mention trying to catch the shuttle. "GO GO GO! The shuttles already here, if we hurry we can grab a ticket and get out of here!" And if you missed the shuttle you could jump a bike and ride.

Well I'd think that seeing as there is no combat on PoB ships, that there would be no combat in the shuttle either. Why would a captain of a shuttle let people fire weapons on his ship when it could end up killing everyone on the ship? Same with the starports, past customs that is... Wouldn't want any terrorists killing people now would they

Theres a reason why the auto travel option was added (at the start of JTL beta it wasnt there)
People
couldnt hyperspace from zone to zone because the area they were going to (Usually Tatooine, Corellia, and Naboo) would be too full of ships.are incredibly lazy and don't know what's good for them.
Fixed.
Er No. Not Fixed. You COULDNT PHYSICALLY HYPERSPACE INTO A ZONE WITH TOO MANY SHIPS IN IT. Do you see? People were getting stuck in Dathomir space and not able to get back because too many people were in the zone they wanted to land in
Blame the devs for not implementing code well enough, blame network traffic. Don't go fixing a statement which simply was stating the facts of what was going on during beta of JTL and the reason we have a travel button at starports.

Instead of going through the space zones, the players would instead be going through hyperspace almost immediatly, after take off. The way I see it the only real way for it to work is that it actually replace the loading screens.

Hahaha I was thinking the same thing! A quick search on google leads you to QFE = Quick Fix Engineering, but applied to all the posts that have QFE in them it just doesn't make sense. Thanks for asking a question most of us probably felt ignorant asking
Saarek wrote:I dont Auto- Travel anyways.I think most RPers dont. It adds to the "Realism" of the experience. Although I would still like to access my ship physically, and not thru a terminal. but then you'd have MASSIVE starports.
Well not if it were instanced. I'd personally prefer that you had to manually land your ship, and you had to go back to your ship in the physical world, instead of just using a terminal.
