Okay, a story...

I was a rebel pilot, given a mission to kidnap an imperial officer who was on his way to the Imperial space station in a "Lambda" class shuttle. I just get there in time to disable the shuttle, destroy the escorting TIE's, and kidnap the officer. Then I head back to the Neutral space station.

On the way there, I find out that the Hutts don't like me very well. I get jumped by 3 Tier 3 Hutt Fighters and 2 Hutt bombers (who, incidentally, have some mean missiles). The intense dogfight ensues.

I narrowly won. I set my course toward the space station again, which is some 9km away, limping there on a partial booster, one cannon still operable, and one engine, fire and smoke pluming out of the other one, at a whopping speed of 11, a whole 49 with what little boost I had left. The whole way, I prayed that I didn't run into any more Hutts or TIE's.

*Phew* Made it!! I repair my ship, land on Lok, and finish the mission.

It was freaking awesome!!

Best Time: Getting my Yaucht and going in space w/ some friends(awesome view) Then we dideced to go to deep space to chexck out the action(tons of corvettes) we targeted a Star Destroyer(immensley huge) Then I had the idea of starting to ram it. Unfortunatly we didn't get far since the SD didnt like the ramming and shot and killed us(in yaucht but it was bug). Very Exciting

I have a question:

Was looking through the badge list and one was listed as "... has destroyed the Death Star". Was that a joke or what?

For the folks not in the beta, ignore the trolls. Testing JTL was a great experience. The vast majority of you are going to love the expansion. There is so much more potential for the game now. Keep in mind that what you will see at launch will not compare to what the devs will be able to add later now that the space component is in the game.

One thing I really enjoyed was the dialog that the new pilot-related NPC's have. They had methreatening the first-tier Imperial trainer in Bestine and boring the Rebel trainer in Tyrena with my exhaustive mission reports.

Shipwrights who like to craft and put time and effort into finding the best materials won't be disappointed. Customers will want to eek out every last bit of mass and energy on their ships so they can fill them with components. Reverse engineering is an excellent touch and will be well worth the effort.

Pilots will have a great time managing the bits and pieces of their ships trying to find the best components they can and then making sure they all fit.

Last but definitely not least....the veteran reward ship is AWESOME! Its basicallythe space of a PA hall(flies likea PA halltoo...) with the item capacity of a small house. Throw some crafting stations on that puppy and you got yourself a mobile manufacturing center with a cool view.

Devs, I have a complaint. Your dang graphics on the JTL site made everything look crappy! YOU LIED THROUGH PICTURES!!!!

Those graphics look amazing. And the Black Sun fighters...wow. I'm not surprised you saved them until the end.

Since the NDA is up, and you guys have all played on Beta, can you answer a few questions for me? I know they've been asked before, but I'll ask them all anyway.

1. How many fighters are you allowed?

2. How customisable is your paintwork? I saw someone's Y-Wing with pretty cool decoration on...do you get to pick patterns?

3. If you change your paintwork, is it permenant, or does it fade?

4. The Nova Courier...what does it look like?

5. What do the new ships fly like - Agressor and Opressor specifically.

Thanks for that in advance.

Now...TH...if you see this, please pass my sentiments onto your collegues:

Congratulations, Devs. If the game is half as good as these guys say, and the screenies show...wow. JTL looks worth the wait. Forget everything bad everyone's said about your dedication to this expansion. It looks like every second you've spent on it has been put to good use. And, from what people are saying, it works, straight off. The ground game may have gotten off to a bad start...but JTL more than makes up for that. The graphics that people are taking screen shots of...they're as good as the movies you've released to us. I'd NEVER have believed we'd get those in game. But it looks like we're getting them. I am genuinely wow'd...and I think there are a lot of gamers that will be too. Everything that I'd have wanted in JTL (all the important stuff, anyway) is there. The graphics look amazing. The interphase looks great. The missions sound superb. Congratulations Devs...you've done yourselves proud.

Now...if I fly through a black hole, will it make my copy of JTL come any faster?

Oh, yeah. Can we get info on the other ships for the Friday Feature? Please? *begs*

I had a fantastic time beta testing JTL. The dev team has done an amazing job listening to the community and quickly implementing changes (many of them significant) that testers recommended. I was very impressed by their level of interaction and communication with the beta community. We should all hope that they keep this up once JTL goes live.

One of my favorite moments in beta was when I was a passenger on a YT1300. It was getting late and I needed to log. I type /escapepod and much to my surprise (as well as everyone else on boardincluding the pilot), I watched in horror as the ship blew up.

I'm pretty certain this has been fixed, but you never know.

Again, kudos to the dev team.

Oh yeah, Firespray certification is available at every Master Pilot profession. Rebel, Imperial and Neutral...just in case you were worried about it.

Edit: I never got it though... = (

First thing you should know, is that for all of the pilot profession you must complete all of the quests before training.

This means even if you have enough XP to train in a skill box you can't untill you have finnished all of the missions.

It is like the Force Senstive quests, expect instead of opening a Colum of skill boxes you open a row of them.

That's not true. If you have the xp to train, you must finish ONE mission from the trainer to be able to train the skill. Then another mission before the next box, and so on.
