no bonus to assembly
have people gotten it on the initial craft? perhaps there is more than one way to do it...
nobody got it on the initial craft, but based on what others have reported, something that happens during that initial craft step sometimes causes the cap on experimentation to be set higher than it usually is, and therefore enables them to experiment to a value that is higher than what the resources used would usually allow.
you're absolutely right... it had to be that way... since BOTH lines have max bars available, and I was only doing one at a time... (eff first, then threw my spare points into dur)
edit: here's theend product

Grats dude. Do you know what this will mean for the rest of us poor DEs on Eclipse ?
Thats right no more harvest droids sales until you run out of those 119 rating droids

heh... well theyre a pain to make, so im sure i wont be doing runs too often... i'll still be selling "normal" ones too i'm sure....
I did some math, and starting from scratch, these droids take over an hour of factory time each!

Great !
Same happened to me on Naritus and its DARN rare !
I had the same conditions as you ... and the key to success seems to hand-craft a lot.
I got the impression that the change started in the assembly phase, but as others already said .. it is unclear why suddenly it jumps to rating 19 once in a fairy moon.
You will get quite a reputation with these droids on your server !
have fun

I would beg to differ because I hand craft almost everything I mae and Have never seen the elusive "exceptional success". I use resources comparable to what was used here.
/Salute sir and I'm glad I don't have to compete with those

Very nice.
It would seem from your description that it was actually the experimentation that broke the cap imposed by the resources. There may be an assembly and experimentation variant.
Apart from opening up the extra boxes, did that roll give a better result? (say a 10% increase for that roll instead of 7%)
I'm not sure if any amount of tapes, foods or city specialisations would help in achieving this.
I think an "exceptional success" is the crafting equivalent of the rare "exceptional weapon" loot drops.

Well I'm going to be forced to keep making tons of things by hand, if I can just get one! I will make a factory run of 1000.
Very nice, I'm at the +109 droid, which is about max unless you get that special exceptional.

Those are suuuureeee purrty to look at.
Yeah, I pitty your fellow DE's on your server!
Well, I guess I'll be in the market for perfect crafting stations and tools.
Oh, btw, what food(s) did you use, if any?
OH, and congratulations on your crafting success.

You're only selling these things for 80K???
Alright, lets say it took you 200 tries to get the exceptional craft.
Since those modules aren't in crates, they're next to useless unless you enjoy hand crafting 30+ droids.
You're using Icopoce steel, been out of shift for a while, usually goes for 10 cpu, requires 55 units, so 550 credits for steel. The copper sells for around 7 or 8 cpu, but lets say its also worth 10 cpu, since it will be incredibly valuable in the future, you need 50 units of this, so another 500 credits per module, and then 20 units of gas, at oh say, 5 cpu, so 100 credits worth of gas for a total of 1150 credits per module. Multiply that times 200, you get 230k credits invested just to get the schematic for the harvest module. Then take into account all of the factory time, not to mention the cost of all the other components used for the droid. The rarity of this droid alone makes it worth far, far more. If you make 100 droids, at 80K each, thats only 8 million credits.
My alt character was DE, and I sold +104 harvest droids for 95K each, easily, I couldn't even keep the vendor stocked. Nothing wrong with pricing them this low from the consumer end, but you're killing your fellow DEs, and shooting yourself in the foot as well, by selling these things so cheap. 119 is a good 10 harvest points better than the second best, you could EASILY sell these droids for twice as much in my honest opinion. Your droids and your business of course, and obviously I'm a bit upset by seeing such a fine droid sell for so low, because I wish I could have made it, and sold it for three times as much on my vendors. I honestly wish you the best, but you really could increase your profits exponentially by selling these droids for much, much more.

Plus look at the fact that Scout resources sell for a lot. People with high Harvest skill like Rangers don't get a big boost with the weaker droids, yours will help them a lot.
I would go 150k maybe. 120k at least. But ours is a rich server.
