Yes it would... But we arent talking about Imperial Star Destroyers, which are CRUISERS, we are talking about Ships close to the size of Corellian Corvettes or smaller, which are CAPITOL SHIPS.


I like the idea, but honestly, even if it was implemented these ships would be so expensive and hard to crew that it would be a waste of time.

But when a whole PA chips in for one, its affordable now, and about your problem about crewing these ships, it would take a large PA to afford it, therefore there wouldnt be that many, for lag reasons, and they would be properly crewed, amazing!


Trust me, nothing I would rather do than crew an ISD, but realistically it's hard enough to get a crew of 4 these days.

No problemo. At first, of course I took your reply as a flame, but been on these forums for awhile so no big deal man. Seriously, I would love to this done in-game. Considering my absolute favorite ship is the Decimator I would happily be a part of this going live.


I DID read the whole post, I'm not trying to take the wind out of your sails either. So, again, good idea. I was originally pesimistic about it because I've noticed a HUGE lack of organization, willingness to group, and in my opinion complete lack of direction is space. When was the last time you saw a fully crewed Decimator with a fighter escort in JTL???


The answer to that is last weekend! This renewed my faith in the possibility of things like what you are suggesting. We had 2, thats right 2 crewed Decimators and about 6-7 escort fighters all flying together last saturday night. I was amazed. The biggest problem we had was that some of the escorts were not ACE's yet so we had to set our sights on Kessel instead of DS. Point is, till now I didn't believe that SWG/JTL players were willing to gather as organized flight groups. At least not yet.


In past online flight sims it was only flight you had to worry about. No ground guilds to compete with. In JTL to gather that kind of group it had to come from at least 4 different guilds. Which poses some problems when trying to form squadrons... but I digress... It may seem off topic but in my opinion to pull off the kind of things that you suggest there will need to be something put in place to help keep pilots (jtl users that is) organized and able to easily communicate.


(I'll post screenies of that combat patrol soon on ahazi boards...)

Lol, oops, forgot to write the message. Anyway, its not that hard to organize sqaudrons together. Simply follow these steps:


1. Post forums on your respective galaxy's boards in forming a NON-GUILD sqaudron.

2. Ask all the pilots you know to join your NON-GUILD sqaudron.

3. Ask them to ask all the pilots they know to join your NON-GUILD sqaudron.

4.Ask other sqaudrons to merge with your NON-GUILD sqaudron whilst still retaining their own identity.


From here, youll have about 50 pilots, trust me this works. So basically, all you have here is a loosley organized expanded friends list of pilots you can call on now, you just put up a large house or guild hall, call it hq, and have you CO or XO keep everyone updated with emails. Everyone will call on eachother to do missions together, trust me its great. Once you do this, pvp in space is DOMINATED by your side, no questions asked. So from about 50 pilots, you become a wing contingent, then you basically divide that up into sqaudrons, headed by their own XO and CO, and then you still have the CO and the XO of the wing to control all the sqaudrons. To prove my point, this is exaclty how my wing is set up. We are over 70 pilots strong, 25 aces and counting. We are constantly accepting new pilots everyday, and we OWN space. There are always pilots to fly with on, we are litterally, a list. Thats it, a list of pilots, and we have our own chat channel and everything. The fact that we are NON-GUILD means no ties to anything, and you contribute as you please, and that appeals to many people. We are never short handed when it comes to vette missions or nova crews. Do this in your galaxy, its fool proof. Now, tell me you can't man a nova or decimator or whatever AFTER you do this. Ive posted alot on this thread, im totally for the capital ships.

I like the idea but only if they could be purchased as faction perks,


that way is like buying a Base but for space,

a place where you can take your fighter for a SW to fix and go back to battle ASAP while the rest of the squadron keeps fighting,

you deploy it, enter and people can move to their battle stations (this way you need MP ships to move the crew inside the CS ) or set it to auto in which case it is just an NPC from your faction.


BUT only deployable in DS to avoid interfering with Missions (i can see people getting 'vette missions on those)


also an extra requirement of certain faction rank to pilot one of those (sorry about neutrals and i am one but Capitol ships usually are Warships)

but all of those are just dreams.

This is how we got rank titles. Someone followed the rules that the Devs play by. If more people would post in the format that the Devs ask, perhaps we would get more changes that we do now. But of course that would put an end to endless fodder on these forums and we all know we don't want that.

I would change the angle slightly towards less of a PA guid ship and more of a person's ship that acts a bit more like our current multi player ships but with a few key changes.


- First it would take minimum crew to take off (let's say 12?) of any PA, that would make using the ship easier.

- Second, the ship would be sent in an instance of space made for it (with it's own content, where other capital ships are, etc). This is because a capital ship could bee too much in other accessible sectors of space either lag wise or firepower wise (any master pilot can handle most space sectors very easily on his own). So content made for the capital ship is essential without troubling those that are not aces yet.

- Most of the ideas in the original post are interesting but preferably no npc vendors.

- Oh and prepare special missions for and against the capital ship such as boarding enemy ships and having your own ship boarded (not just shoot and escort missions).


That is what comes to my mind at this time.
