Thread: JTL won't save SWG

oh bout the big invuleranblity exploit? that has been around for over month now and has been reported by MANY people. I have even PM the EXACT way to duplicate it and get it to work each and every time. Yet I can still go to Deep space and get invulunerabity and not have to worry about it.Also its easy to do in kessel sector as well, so please tell me how easy it is to fix??? I read every patch note, I test out every night. There are still lingering bugs that have been around for a while which have yet to be addressed by the devs. So please remove your head from the devs rectum and look at hte facts , the game is not ready for release , but they will release it no matter what. I have a list of 12 bugs that have been around for a while now that have yet to be fixed.
So, you've got a copy of the JTL source code, have looked through it, and determined that large parts of it have to be rewritten?
Bugs are prioritized. They won't all be fixed as soon as they are reported. Your ship turning invulnerable will not require a major rewrite. It will require some minor change to the code. A bit is not being twiddled properly somewhere, and a couple lines of code will fix it when someone decides it's the next item to fix on the list.
Not being fixable in a week would be something like rewriting the entire AI from scratch. That would take a while. There are no bugs I'm aware of that are on this scale.
And have you /buged your formula for invulnerability, or are you gonna save it so you can exploit?

JTL will NOT save swg, it will RUIN this game. Because the space is so small, one zone is 8000x8000x8000m. Happy exploring my friend, you will get crashed to invisible wall very quickly. Thats why they made ships so slow. And planets are only nice background. These things cannot be fixed anymore. I am in the beta.
Kinda funny that when I hyperspaced into the corellian system I was 14,000m from the station. I think you need to rethink you numbers next time.

The zones are exactly 16,000x16,000x16,000 (the middle is 0,0,0 and you either go negative or positive coordinate just like in the ground). But if you are in a corner of the zone, and something is at the other extreme corner, then the distance is greater than 16,000 meters. Simple logic. ![]()

Yeah,I meant 14,000
hehe That's what "test" is for.

I'm in the middle. I do however think, its not ready for release, and the Dev's should go back to the drawing board on many of the issues in beta. I mean, c'mon. If the patch's totally screwed up the test centers, ( all player structures were wiped b/c of one patch. Then you couldn't leave the NPC towns b/c you'd get warped right back to them if you went 500m out.) Could you imagine if these re-occur during live?!? SOE would have no customer base in this game almost!
I will repeat myself if there is a Dev looking...
JT FRICKIN L IS NOT READY FOR LAUNCH!!!
you will have the same problems to deal with just like in the glitchy, barely playable, ground game, and have to re-do most of the game later on!
Oh and another thing, if you guys have a data base issue with the ground game alone, how the hell is JTL going to be supported?!? Are you going to nerf all the fun things?!? God damn I pissed at JTLAND at the Dev's. I hope you guys get fired by l.A. I really don't care anymore.
All I know is, in response to the person saying JTL is not ready for launch, SWG wasn't either. Hell, playing it, there's still a lot of things about SWG that aren't ready for launch. It's beenout for over a year now I think, and it's still as choppy as it ever was before. I can't look at my monitor cross-eyed without everything freezing up and getting choppy.

Have you been into Kessel or Deep space?
Apperntly not....
Anyway, i really really think JTL is a great add-on. Although i despise crafting myself, i think i take a 2nd account for shipwright.
As for Flying, i must say in the beginning the flight dynamics and the AIwhere quite horrid, but instead off whining and quit playing some off us beta testers REALLY did BETA-TESTING and gave some constuctive critism to the dev team.
And guess what, they listened!
The flight dynamics are pretty sweet atm, (they are still tweaking it btw...) took me yesterday about 10 mins to take out an A-wing (in a normal TIE). That was a splendid dogfight! Chasing him trough an asteroid field (astroids dont do damage though...) but still it was alot of fun! Got wasted by an Y-wing though who popped up behind me.

OH NO!!! SWG IS DOOMED TO DIE BECAUSE PEOPLE ARE LEAVING!!!!
Good. More database space for me!!
Seriously. If you're not gonna be happy with it, then why play at all. Don't try to make it a Holy Crusade to convert others to your way of thinking by spewing all you see wrong with a game. People who stay are those who love the game for what it is. A STAR WARS GAME!! Don't let the door hit ya.
Also, remember that EQ was the first 3D MMO of it's kind and for the first couple of years it was out it was also very simple and actually worse than SWG was/is. Imagine what SWG will be like in a few years. I mean, how long has EQ been out? Like 6 years? And it's still going strong. If you're too impatient to wait for all the great things in a game, then you either need medication, or weren't spanked enough as a kid.
Eq at the time had only 1 competitor and that was UO. So had a steady player base , SWG was noted as one of the fastest growing MMORPG, but also Fast one to decline. The last offical number give out was in march 2004 and that was not given out by SOE the numbers SOE gave out was like 500k subscribers. The numbers that was determined was around 275k subscribers and thats when most servers had a Medium traffic and even a few had heavy traffic. Look at all the servers now none have medium all are light.
We arent trying to convert anyone, but at least with this info in hand people can make a informed decision on this. Instead of following blindly and buying something that they will later regret. There are many bugs that have yet to be squashed in JTL that has been around for a while. Although I doubt they will get them fixed.
SWG has potential to be the greatest MMORPG out there, yet it continues to fall short from deliverying it . The devs consitatntly make bad choices in putting things out almost never listening to the community. That certain things do not work. Now if the Devs paid attention to the community some of these chnges would have been great.
The devs tend to turn a blind eye to the community and put out things that do not work or work half azzed .
