but, i'm not saying i agree with the CU, we have on TC. i'm just saying in NO WAY is space worse off than the ground game. and they arent gonna fix space, until the ground game is taken care of, so cool your heels. no need in getting worked up. they'll get around to space in time.


your right, the loot system sucks. but not enough to not fix the ground game first.

A cpuple things... Good loot still drops. I got a Lvl 10 engine the other day in the 75 range with over 65 on all the axis.. and a very good 2500-4200 blaster.


BUt for the WS.... I suggested back a while ago inqhen JTL started the following...


Allow MWS to build REable parts... ie... Make it so 1/2 rounded down are loot parts. But let the rest me Player made. THis would allow a MWS that has some parts with 1 or 2 good stats to make with his Experimention other parts to match with the stats he needs. THen RE the bunch of them and let them use 1/2 their Exeromentaion points on the final piece also...

Once in a great while, good loot does drop; but the frequency is limp and impotent. My A-wing's reactor will be decayed out by overcharges by the time I find a suitable replacement. And please read the first page of this post regarding the permanent learning of level specific stats frome loot so that I can make copies of the components I loot. So, what spawns do you farm for that quality loot?

I get the best loot from the Endor Teir 4 and the Dath Teir 4 and 5 stuff. U average a Lvl 7-10 item every 3rd or 4th on... If I go out with either of my accts I can usually pickup 20-30 loot parts and 30-50k credits on the chip. I sell anything Lvl 4 and lower plus all armor to the chasis dealer. The rest I save for RE or personal use.


I'm stocking up parts for my YT-1300 I hope to get in the next week or so. My VT is already pretty awesome. It has a player made 103 engine in it.

The once-in-a-lifetime drop of good loot still fails to mask the continual supply of crappy boosters. You would think that T5 zones would have the best loot, but I just spent an hour in deep space and only found two low level caps and two crappy boosters. I'll trade my 100 boosters for that "good" gun that you looted.

I don't even bother with Deep SPace and rarely go to Kessel for that reason. Loot there sucks and so does the playing.. Kessel has to few things to attack and Deep Space to many. Your attacking one thing then slip to clost to another and suddenly it's game over.

I as said above totaly agree, loots to crappy for ships if it aint boosters and armour, lucky for me i got a good shippy but all the loot is good for is schem fragments and cashing in on. and the BlackSun helms bout the only good thing u can loot anymore.

Oooo and one more stupid note, first sd i destroyed i got a booster and armour plate plus cash

Seems like there was a change recently. That or someone just got crafty with the RE. I FINALLY bought more components for my X-wing. Namely armor (1200'ish and 5000'ish mass) and a cap, all of which fit under my mass/energy needs but had better performance than my loot.

Anyone else notice anything?

I wish our correspondent would give us some reasons. Logically speaking, they should drop the best loot in these areas. They should be smacked. BTW, I found some semi-pre-nerf level 8 shield generators with semi-good stats from a vendor on Naboo. They cost me a grand chunk of money, butthe final product RE is my precious baby. Recharge rate nearing 15 and front and back nearing 2K. I can't wait to equip this on a heavy X-wing or ARC 170.

Just in terms of mechanics, the tier 5s drop far more level 10 loot than other types of ships, but their loot drop rate is low and they're harder to kill, resulting in a relatively small quantity of loot for the time spent killing them. So it's not so much they don't drop good loot as they don't drop much of it, making the good stuff all the rarer. Tier 5s are definitely what you want to be killing if you're looking for level 10 gear, though.

As for the preponderance of boosters and armor, two of the most useless looted components around.. well, I can't really say. It's probably intentional, a way to keep loot amounts higher (and thus keeping your bankroll up as well) without overinflating the amount of level 10 engines and weapons and such dropping. However, with a low loot rate and what, 8 categories of components to divide your drops between, it isn't that surprising that it takes so long to find quality stuff.

Not to say the system is ideal, by any means, just trying to break down why higher levels of loot--particularly the uber stuff--can take so long to find.

Thanks for showing =P Do you hava any idea if this will ever be tweaked? That's odd that I haven't looted a level 10 engine since I was in T3, or was is early T4? What do you think about my perm upgrade idea for parts crafting? Stay in contact.biwan: May the force be with us in space...
