Crafting SHOULD fill the need. Whether it will or not is up to the Devs...

DARN RIGHT. But unless crafting improves, I'll take source I can get. What a pity the devs want us to fly with substandard components. It's not as much a challenge as a frusration. It bothers me that I can't get the reward engine that some other people have.

You people have to realize that space loot is meant for re-engineering. You will rarely loot a blaster, for instance, that it a great part by itself, but many have 1 or 2 good stats, then combined with other parts with other good stats it makes a really good weapon. As far as the quality of drops, I have not seen any drop in quality in drops myself, except maybe for engines. The key is the re-engineering. I can re-engineer, with the right parts, some pretty potent parts. As an example, I re-eng a level 10 blaster a few weeks ago with the following stats:

Dmg: 3066 -4677

Mass:41k ish

Shields/Armor: .82/.81

re-fire: .37

I currently have this puppy mounted on my a-wing. Getting the right parts does take patience, but recognizing what you have is important, - you get lvl 6 blaster that only has 1800 max dmg, but has 9500 mass, THAT is a keeper for re-engineering because of the mass, even though the dmg sux. The key is waiting for good stats on the others lines....this may mean to make that really sweet part you want, you may have to gather 15 lvl 6 parts, thats where patience comes in.

Yes RE'ing is very important. I mean i compare my YT which has all nonre'd loot parts to my friends Deci will all RE'd parts , and it puts mine to shame. But In more than 2 months i have not looted a single lvl 7 or higher component. I have a 4.2k dmg blaster that i would love to have re'd, but i cant find the lvl 10 part needed to RE it.

Maybe it's something with your server then...I just ran the Blacksun mission from the Lok Hotel NPC trainer...I looted multiple level 8 components, including a blaster, 2 engines 2 capacitors and 3 boosters. I also looted a level 10 blaster and a level 7 blaster. This is a normal output for running the destroy missions from either Lok or Rori (which would be the imp destroy missions). I usually get between 2-5 level 10 components per run, plus a good mix of 5-9's. This is running the complete mission, not cutting out early.

As for loot, havent really noticed much honestly, i have certain parts that i save, im an REing junky. What i have noticed though is what is seems like a reduction in L10 cannon drops. they were rare before, but now they seem REALLY rare.. im wondering if they still drop acutally. What worries me is if they'll ever nerf L2 and L4 capcitor drops, those things are my bread and butter when configuring ships.

Yeah, I have noticed that, I've mastered shipwright twice, and frankly some of the stuff I see being made I wonder if the people ever even went to space, and more than likely, they haven't.

I see no point in "uprading"(nerfing) the combat system when space needs the overhaul.

Yea I always get a backpack full of boosters after a session in space, on the positive side JTL is good for making quick easy cash if you just sell everything to the chassis dealer, definately better than the current ground loot except for the rare drops of course.

I'm a master shipwright, but the only parts I stock are chassis. There is no point for me to make anything tosell. No one would buy them. All crafted engines handle like a pile of bricks. All craftedcapacitors fail to outperform capacitors 7 levels down. Pound for pound, crafted reactors produce less energy than digesting a quarter-pounder with cheese. For most craft, boosters are only feasible at low levels. The only reasons I craft space weapons are because the high level onesnever drop for me and because all loot weapons take their leisure time to refire. I prefer the quick shot with my A-wing. If shields actually dropped more, maybe I could compare them to crafted. Either way, their recharge rates are no good. At least let us craft even leveled parts comparable to pre-nerf loot.

ya i understand where ya coming from, but there are alot of sw out there that can craft really good stuff not as good as some loot but some of them are better. I dont know. I found a sw that made some enigines on bria the where in the 90's for lvl7 and 100's for lv 9. He also made some pretty decent weapons to. The shileds i have found either have great recharge rate and low hp or high hp and low recharge rate. Never in the middle. I wish the sw could made some of the old pre-nerf stuff. I like others are having a hard time find engines with a high speed and ypr. Weapons i havnt seen a lvl10 weapon in months. I have found a few lvl10 droids that are around 10.0 up to 11.0 but i get one of those once a month maybe. I found one sw on azhai that was able to make lvl1 and 3 driods with rates around 12.0. Sry i am rambleing again.

edit: Oh if they are going to kill the loot in space then they need to counteract it the the sw being able to make great stuff. As stated above some sw can make certain items really good but not others. As other sw can make other items really well. I think they need to use the forums and get together if they are not already. Those that make those elite sw items need to talk and spread the word how they do it.

I'm just really curious on some pilots experience with the loot they are getting. X-rebel, what is your main way of getting space loot? Do u just go to Kessel or Deep Space and hunt? Do you go and just find random orstatic spawns? Or do u actually take missions from the trainers once you reached ACE? The reason I ask is that I have had no problems getting level 10 drops, but in order to get those drop I have to either go into Kessel/Deep Space, or, as I do most frequently, take destroy missions from the NPC trainer in either Lok (hotel) for Black Sun Missions, or Rori, to get the imp destroy missions (these would be for you rebel pilots out there). We do have a numbers game, so keep in mind that Deep Space and Kessel can sometimes be picked over and not many ships are available to get a high number of kills. On the other hand, if you take destroy missions, you get many kills in a short period of (relatively speaking) time. Missions will start out with one ship and go to 5 for the 1st wave (for BS missions this would be 2 waves prior to the captain ship, 3 waves for the imp mission), so the 1st wave would provide 15 ships per wave, the 2nd starts and 2 and goes to 6...this continues up to starting at 5 and going to 9 ships, which means in the last waves you get 35 ships. Now if you cut out of the missions before you actually complete them, you are cutting your probability to get loot. I may go thru half the mission with only a few drops, and then I'll get a good run going. I almost always end up with at least 1 level 10 part, and usually get between 2 and 5. I also get a fair number of level 8's and a good mix of other parts. It is true that the drop rates for the weapons are the lowest, sometimes I may only get a couple on a run, but be persistant and they will drop for you (just fyi, the destroy missions take about 1.5 hrs., and that's for me, who has the dreaded bumble bee issue with the Asus board). I'm not a big ground player atm, and I do spend most of my time in space or on the ground handling SW, but I tend to do only 1 mission a day, unless I have time for 2. If anyone on Ahazi is experiencing bad drop rates, look me up and I'll run some missions with ya for a week to see what we can come up with.

On the most part i do destroy missions and go to kessel and hunt random spawns. I like to spend most of my time in space. Not very fond of the ground but i do it anyways sometimes. I stay in space on average of an hour or 2. Dont get me wrong i get a little bit of everything in space loot but high lvl has been down a bit lately except droids. I dont do the numbers but when i started palying jtl when it came out i was able to pay for my ships and outfit them no problem with the space loot i got. I understand the down side of that for sw. I am not gripping about it that, its just lately is seems to have gotten worse. It seems like i am being forced to play the ground game to be able to play the space part which is fine to a point until they work some of the bugs out of the ground after the cu. I hope its all that its cracked up to be. even though for the most part the polls show differently. I can only hope. Out of all the games like swg i have really enjoyed since jtl came out. I feel like some people that they (soe) really doesnt listen to the players and do what they want. when in these type of games the player means everything because if we dont play we dont pay. ooops went off on another tanget sorry.

again i am not agreeing with ya and i am not disagreeing with ya. At the moment i really dont care for the most part because i eventualy find what i want from sw and lootexcept those lvl 9 and 10 with 4k damage man would those be a dream.

I have a dream. A dream that space loot came back to the pre-nerf days and sw's where able to craft items equal to the loot.

dang it went on another tanget, it must be because its late for me.
