Thread: A few questions

If I think I have got a bead on what town he may be heading too, does it take a few minutes for him to show up?
This depends on how close they are obviously. However, unless they're really close, I usually try to cut them off on the way. Most marks tend to travel relatively fast.
If so, do they tend to go to starports, shuttleports, cantinas or nowhere inparticular?
I've found most of my targetsgoing toward the starports.
Should I search between the town and latest wp given by seeker?
If you're within 500m of the wp when the seeker updates you, the mark is typically in the area of 100m of the wp. Otherwise, as soon as the system tells you that your droid has lost track of the mark, release another droid.
Will my mark be a person running?
Nope, standing.
If so will he be marked with a mission wp type of thing?
The mark rarely directly on top of the wp. Search the surrounding 100m.
How many droids should be used on an average 2 1/2 lvl. Inv. mission?
On average, I use 3-4 seekers.
Thanks!

i wanted to know about lightsaber creation. where do you get the basic ingrediants..from the bazaar?
Either there, or sample them youself, by hand or with a Harvester. Its mostly easy to get, besides Crystals and Pearls.
what happens to the pearls when you repair and get a crit faliure?
If you get a crit upon creation, it´s all gone. If you get a crit in repair, you can still use the saber as a component for the next higher generation one.
when starting out as a new jedi..does anyone have a hunting guide like which mobs seem to work best and on what planet..i know that question might not be answered since some bounty hunters might read this forum.
Once you are a Jedi, you´ll know it yourself, from simple game experience. If not, apply for the Jedi-only forum.
next, can bounty hunters kill you anytime at all..even if you are not on the BH terminal.
Only if 1) he is of opposite faction and 2) you currently have a TEF
This goes for all players, not just BHs
and i read a lot about jedi's grping with one another, but i also see that a low profile is best..so how do you find other jedi to grp with, since most are trying not to be found?
See the answer 2 questions above
and my last question is if you start a jedi and progress along and decide to start over..can you put the items you have in your current house and let your new jedi loot those items in the house you already have? thank you for taking the time and reading and hopefully answering some and hopefully all these questions..
Sabers are no-drop, and you need to use your main char´s house for the rest - Jedi can´t build own houses.
thank you
Your welcome. But use a little formatting in your next post please.

I just have a few questions about the Swordsman Profession. I am currently a Bounty Hunter 1013. I do over 3000-7000 damage in about 3-4 seconds flat. I am thinking of dropping this and going with Swordsman as BH has not much of a defense. We have nothing except Ranged Mitation. As a Master Heavy Swordsman, using a cleaver, how much damage can I five out if the swords stats were about 150-250. What kind of professions can I kill (While Buffed, Armored). Can Master Heavy Swordsman kill Commandos, BH's, Fencers, Pikemans? How much damage will I be doing about? Will being a Teras Kasi Master provide extra defense? What do you do when someone duels you over lets say about 15 meters or 20, can you still hit him, and if hes a Ranged Opponent, wont you have a greater chance of dieing? Thank you for your time.
Okay, there is a lot there.
Damage: Swordsman can do a lot of damage in PvE, especially if you have Master Brawler for Lunge2's KD. I have seen 8300+ floaties over mobs I KD'ed then hit with Hit3 or HeadHit3. Without the KD, you can figure half that. We can definitely do a lot of PvE damage.
Sword stats: The Cleaver will give you better accuracy and speed, but the Powerhammer (certed atNovice Swordsman)is the better damage dealer. But that aside, our top specials are a 4x damage modifier (e.g., Hit3, HeadHit3,and Area3). The basic damage formula before armor and resists are taken into account is:
Damage * StandardModifier * SpecialDamageModifier
For Rifles, I know the standard modifier is 1.5, but I saw somewhere on these boards someone thought it was 1.8 or so. There may be a difference between Ranged and Melee in that regard, but I will stick with the 1.5 in this because I have not seen confirmation of this. So:
150 * 1.5 * 4 = 900
250 * 1.5 * 4 = 1,500
So the Sword of which you speak will hit for 900 - 1,500 in the combat window andbefore armor and resistances are taken into account. Against an unarmored opponet with, say, 5% resists to the damage type and assuming an Medium AP sword, you would hit for 1,334 - 2,223. Of course, given different armor and resistances or if you used one of the lesser specials, you would do different damage.
What you can kill: Buffed and armored, you can take on most stuff in the game. Because I am a rifleman as well as swordsman, I do not wear ubber armor and my stats are migrated to favor mind. I usually wear a composite helm built and slicedfor low enumbrances, composite chest plate, also built and sliced for encumbrances, ubese pants, boots and gloves, though I sometimes wear full ubese armor depending on the circumstances. Even so, buffed and armored as recently as last night, I have simultaneously soloed7 Enraged rancorswithout even working up a sweat. I wander up and down the Tusken fort and only have problems with the carnage champion, and then often only if he catches me at a bad time. So fully buffed and wearing ubber armor, a Swordsman is a killing machine in PvE. Even as is, if I PvE, I am almost always doing so as a Swordsman. I rarely use my rifle.
PvP: I do not PvP much as a Swordsmansince I use my Rifle as my primary weapon in PvP (stealth and range are more my play style). But using Swordsman, I have dueled BHs and beat them. I have dueled TKs and beat them.
Range: Your normal range will be no more than 10m for almost any Brawler weapon. Some weaponsdo not even reach that. However, Lunge1 (obtained at Novice Brawler) can hit at 15m and do a posture down. Lunge2 (obtained at Master Brawler) can reach 20m and can do a KD. Those are the only two specials that can out reach your normal attack range. Beyond 20m (ignoring oddites caused by server lag), you cannot hit anyone at all with a melee weapon. So your only two options to hit themin that caseare burst run to catch them, or move to a ranged weapon.
If a range opponent stays beyond 20m and you do not have a ranged weapon yourself and you cannot close the distance, you will die if you simply try to run after them. If you have no ranged ability and cannot burst run to close the distance, your only option is to get out of their range or get behind buildings until they get within melee range.

If you are making harvestors - then lots of ore and lots of rubbish metal will be the way to go. Hoarding a nice >950UT/SR/HR Steel like Duralloy or lron like Kammris, some nice >950 UT/SR/HR Ore like a katrium and lots of Lubricating Oil.
If you are making Master Architect furniture, then start stockpiling all of the following:
Thallium Copper
Kelsh Copper
Titanium Aluminum
Pholokite Extrusive Ore
Ionite Intrusive Ore
Endorian Wooly Hide, and
Dantooine Leathery Hide.
Otherwise, try and stockpile as much rubbish wooly hide as you can.
And with furniture, quality of the resources does not matter (except when you are talking about candles and lights).
No you do not get double xp from having two pets out... it's now some sort of average between the two.
I just wanted to point out, you may want to reconsider doing the holo grind with your main character...
~ Since you need to do CH as your first holo on your alt character... you could as easily (or perhaps more easily) redo CH with your main after you are done holo chasing.
~ Your main character already has some mastered professions... so that could put you closer to the jedi slot. (There supposedly is a time limit to how long the holo grinding will work, with the up coming changes to jedi.)
~ you would be on the same server as your friends with your jedi if you open the slot with your main character.
