Yea it did say while supplies last. However it didn't say that they were out of supplies when I finished my order. Not to mention my receipt says "Jump to Lightspeed, With Bonus Disk!"
A receipt stating exactly what I ordered, and when I recieved my Jump to Lightspeed... It was not what I ordered and it was not what my receipt says...
Sounds like fraud to me and I believe that if they are out of supplies then I hold them to responsiblity for either A. not changing their website to reflect that, or prompt me when my order was finished. Or B. contact me by phone or mail to let me know that my order has be altered.

/sigh

Then call them back & explain your situation, civily instead of complaining on this thread. If you don't get any satisfaction with the csr, talk to their manager & keep going from there.

Thanks Lord starwolf for the info, I wrote in to SOE as there's a huge time difference between Singapore and US, hence wasn't convenient to call. I do hope they will resolve my issue. I pre-ordered 9 copies from gamestop with the in-game bonus... I hope it was not gone to waste.....

I was at first angry with gamestop, but after doing the research for the workaround, really see that most of the fault lies with SOE. The only thing I can fault gamestop for is crap customer service and advertising a PREORDER version of the game then shipping a retail version. yes, while supplies last, yes all the other disclamers. I ordered my copy on the 23rd, and it clearly said on the gamestop website that it was a preorder.

As for all those who say the flash speeder is crap: It's as fast as a swoop, and if it gets destroyed, you simply type /flashpeeder and 20k creds will be deducted with a new speeder appearing in your account. I'd say worth it.

Lord, the term pre-order does not mean "special" or anything. A pre-order will make sure you get a copy of the game the first day, at least on retail stores. I also went to the Gamestop site to order but since there was no advertising of the flashspeeder by then I just went to EBgames.com since they had the advertisement there. When I checked out in my order were 2 copies of JTL and also 2 copies of the bonus disk. I agree that the fault is on SOE because they kept the link to Gamestop but I see that SOE did make it up to you and others so that is good customer service. Gamestop could have placed some info that they were not shipping the bonus disk anymore but then again they didnt had to because it was not advertised anymore on their site. People just have to be very careful when they order online and not just presume that they will get a bonus unless its clearly stated.

Just received mail from the CS Rep in SOE stating that I must contact GameStop if they failed to provide the pre-order keys. Just wrote an email to GameStop on this. Let's hope someone in GameStop addresses the issue... I've worked in the customer service industry so I guess I'm patient about this heh... I hope..

/me starts to meditate...

Which is why gamespot is guilty of fraudulent marketing, they are NOT out of supplies.

Not every store has EXTRA beta disks. Some did, some didn't, obviously their distribution center, which is where the would ship from, didn't have any extras beta disks. Therefore, no fraudulent marketing practices. Besides, think about it logically, why would a nationally & well known retail game store risk fraudulent activity for one game expansion? Truth is, they wouldn't. They'd be risking lawsuits & fines among other things. And no large company like GameStop is going to pull that if they expect to compete & stay in the retail market. Granted, they need to work on their customer service skills at their call center, but my guess is they probably outsourced their csr's to some third party call center most likely. Still doesn't excuse how crappy people have been gettting treated though. If this were happening to me, I'd be writing a letter to their company HQ to make them aware of how crappy the customer service is & suggest:
1.) They rectify my issue.
2.) They look into hiring a better third party csr firm or if they have their own csr's..replace the lot of them.
3.) If my issue still wasn't rectified to my satisfaction, contact local news media. Usually in most larger cities, the local stations have some sort of consumer help of some sort.

The thing that cracks me up the most is...all this over a stupid speeder, which has nothing on it that the regular speeder in the game has..it's just as fast as the speeders in the game. Get over it, there was no fraud commmited. If a store runs out of a item, then the store is out of a item. You have to remember that not all stores had alot of pre-orders taken for this game. I am for sure if Gamestop is like any other retailer that they sent out a certain number of disks to each of there 1700 stores and that some stores went throught them and others didn't. I don't see where you guys can be yelling fraud at Gamestop. It's not Gamestops fault, it's SOE. You have to remember that it was SOE that made the disks for this, it was SOE that sent the disks to the warehouses of these stores and it was SOE that didn't take the link off their website. Gamestop did nothing wrong guys. They provided the extra bonus as long as they had them in stock, which is what it said on their website. Are you expecting them to just pull another one out of their behinds and give it to you? No, they are not gonna do that. If they have no disks to give, then they have no disks to give. You have to accept that as a fact. Take it up with SOE. I know nothing I say will change your minds, but if you would stop and look at this correctly you would see the truth.

They have extra disks at stores. They should be serving their preorder customers before passing them out to walk-ins. Again, they are not out of stock if stores are handing them out like candy.

What didn't you understand in my last post? If you go back & re-read it you'll see I said SOME stores had extras, SOME DON'T! And apparently their distribution center RAN OUT! Here is an idea, why don't pick up the phone & call your local GameStop store to see IF they have any extras. IF they do, I'm sure they'd be happy to give you one. Otherwise follow the directions in my above post & see if you can't work something out with their customer service.

Your dodging and making excuses. They are NOT out of stock if they have extra copies in even 1 single solitary store. I don't care if it's in Montana, they should not be giving out these copies before all preorder customers are served, which they obviously haven't done. There was no reason these stores should have received these copiesif they didn't have preorders, those of us who went online, paid $10 extra, and preorded when we could have just gone to a store, did so with the intent of receiving a bonus disk. I don't care if the extras have to be sent back to distribution, I paid for it so I want my rightful copy, especially before they give them to people who didn't even preorder!

Barco do you not get the concept of...THEY SEND A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF COPIES OF EACH OF THE BETA DISKS TO EACH OF THERE STORES part of my reply before? Each store gets a set amount of disks. Once that is gone then the promotion is done, finished, overwith. That's what LIMITED TIME OFFER means. The main warehouse has a certain amount of disks too, once those are gone THEN THE PROMOTION IS OVER. That is why it was taken off the website at Gamestop. Because the LIMITED TIME OFFER was over with. It's not Gamestops fault that SOE did not take it off the Star Wars Galaxies website. If anyone owes you the beta disk, it's SOE not Gamestop. Also, I do feel that SOE owes you an apology also. But I also think if they are telling customers that it's a Gamestop problem then they also owe Gamestop an apology too. Gamestop is just a retailer, they don't manufacture the products. They sell the products as the middle man, between SOE and you. Blame the original manufacture of the product if they didn't send enough of the disks out to the distribution centers.

That isnt how it works, I use to work for babbages, Long time before they became gamestop. The stores are sent X number of preorders bonus cds most of the times to cover their Preorders there possibly a few reasons , why they had 1 extra or 2 extra bonus cds. Someone who ordered cancelled their preorder thus having extra copies. The stores never send bonus material back for the most part and many times the bonus cds arent even in the system.

Theregular store getting them and online purchases has nothing to do with each other and they do not know what each other has in stock when it comes to that so really ranting about this isnt going to help youout. The preorder is over ,you will not get a flash speeder . I think this subject should just be put to sleep.Yes , its ashame that you didnt get it , i am sorry. If you feel strongly about not getting it you can always not order from gamestop.Since they listed" while supplieslast" they arecovered. The other thing is SOE prob sentout enough to cover the intial preorder based on Gamestops and EBs preorders, so only made X number of them. No point in wasting money on making more and its incentive topreordera product , thus guaranteed revenue. Its not like SoE gamestop or EB had some alter motive to screwyou out of money.
