Thread: Did Gamestop.com **EDIT** anyone else on the Pre-Order?
lunar004 wrote:Yea it did say while supplies last. However it didn't say that they were out of supplies when I finished my order. Not to mention my receipt says "Jump to Lightspeed, With Bonus Disk!"A receipt stating exactly what I ordered, and when I recieved my Jump to Lightspeed... It was not what I ordered and it was not what my receipt says...Sounds like fraud to me and I believe that if they are out of supplies then I hold them to responsiblity for either A. not changing their website to reflect that, or prompt me when my order was finished. Or B. contact me by phone or mail to let me know that my order has be altered.
/sigh
Then call them back & explain your situation, civily instead of complaining on this thread. If you don't get any satisfaction with the csr, talk to their manager & keep going from there.
/me starts to meditate...

Not every store has EXTRA beta disks. Some did, some didn't, obviously their distribution center, which is where the would ship from, didn't have any extras beta disks. Therefore, no fraudulent marketing practices. Besides, think about it logically, why would a nationally & well known retail game store risk fraudulent activity for one game expansion? Truth is, they wouldn't. They'd be risking lawsuits & fines among other things. And no large company like GameStop is going to pull that if they expect to compete & stay in the retail market. Granted, they need to work on their customer service skills at their call center, but my guess is they probably outsourced their csr's to some third party call center most likely. Still doesn't excuse how crappy people have been gettting treated though. If this were happening to me, I'd be writing a letter to their company HQ to make them aware of how crappy the customer service is & suggest:
1.) They rectify my issue.
2.) They look into hiring a better third party csr firm or if they have their own csr's..replace the lot of them.
3.) If my issue still wasn't rectified to my satisfaction, contact local news media. Usually in most larger cities, the local stations have some sort of consumer help of some sort.

What didn't you understand in my last post? If you go back & re-read it you'll see I said SOME stores had extras, SOME DON'T! And apparently their distribution center RAN OUT! Here is an idea, why don't pick up the phone & call your local GameStop store to see IF they have any extras. IF they do, I'm sure they'd be happy to give you one. Otherwise follow the directions in my above post & see if you can't work something out with their customer service.

Your dodging and making excuses. They are NOT out of stock if they have extra copies in even 1 single solitary store. I don't care if it's in Montana, they should not be giving out these copies before all preorder customers are served, which they obviously haven't done. There was no reason these stores should have received these copiesif they didn't have preorders, those of us who went online, paid $10 extra, and preorded when we could have just gone to a store, did so with the intent of receiving a bonus disk. I don't care if the extras have to be sent back to distribution, I paid for it so I want my rightful copy, especially before they give them to people who didn't even preorder!
That isnt how it works, I use to work for babbages, Long time before they became gamestop. The stores are sent X number of preorders bonus cds most of the times to cover their Preorders there possibly a few reasons , why they had 1 extra or 2 extra bonus cds. Someone who ordered cancelled their preorder thus having extra copies. The stores never send bonus material back for the most part and many times the bonus cds arent even in the system.
Theregular store getting them and online purchases has nothing to do with each other and they do not know what each other has in stock when it comes to that so really ranting about this isnt going to help youout. The preorder is over ,you will not get a flash speeder . I think this subject should just be put to sleep.Yes , its ashame that you didnt get it , i am sorry. If you feel strongly about not getting it you can always not order from gamestop.Since they listed" while supplieslast" they arecovered. The other thing is SOE prob sentout enough to cover the intial preorder based on Gamestops and EBs preorders, so only made X number of them. No point in wasting money on making more and its incentive topreordera product , thus guaranteed revenue. Its not like SoE gamestop or EB had some alter motive to screwyou out of money.
