You'd be surprised how many people have no life. Hakari is one.

to start a guild you need a guild hall to make it official. That is not all, you need to get enough people interested in your guild's ideas and plans for them to join...Ask around, find people interested in your guild's plans and then grab a guild hall...
thats the brief 'Starting a Guild' Guide...hehe, hope it helps

Click on empty space (i.e. deselect any item or character) then type /image. You can then work on yourself. This ability exists from the beginning of the skill tree.
Not if you're a Wookie, Trandoshan or Mon Calamarian. The Image Design options available to Novice Entertainers do not include anything that those races can have done to them.

If you havent already - get yourself the surveying skill tree under Artisan. Mining almost dictates that this is a mandatory requirement and will save you money from having to redeed harvestors placed on bad shifts.
Acquaint yourself with some of the online resource guides that are available - especially www.swgcraft.com and swg.allahkazam.com. Swgcraft has a listing for all galaxies with the current resources that are in shift, what their stats are and how long they have been in shift for.
If you can, start off with a decent amount of power (preferably radioactives) and a nice spread of BER10 Mediums. If you can't afford these (or havent the resources to make them yourself), then BER4 Personals are just as good to get started with.
Try and mine one thing at a time to build up stocks. As an architect, you'll find that your need for ore (any type) and a metal (such as steel or iron) will be needed almost continuously for walls and structure modules, and gathering a nice amount of these is a great way to start off.
Once you have a nice stock of these, start mining lube oil (any quality), copper, aluminum, reactive gas, inert gas and carbonate ore. You'll be needing these to make turbine generators, and mining components such as Ore Mining Units (OMUs) or Fluidic Drive Units/Turbo Fluidic Drive Units. These are required in all types of harvestors - especially the generators.
You'll also need a good high UT/SR/UT Steel of iron for the OMUs and FDUs/TFDU's to get the best Base Extraction Rate (BER) in your end products.

I would stay away from starting a resource mining operation right now. The Holo grind is comming to a hault in the next month, and there will be fewer people looking for bulk resources out there. Granted you will always have people that don't want to harvest their own stuff, like me, but you will be catering to a much smaller audience once publish 10 comes out.

Good advice above.
If your goal is specifically to setup a mining business on the side in addition to your architect business then I'd recommend going into high quality resources. Start with figuring out what some of the crafting professions need for materials. For example figure out what materials weaponsmiths need and then try and find the best quality for those resources that you can. The high quality materials will usually be in good demand and fetch a nice price.
