Since they are non-tradable they might as well let each character on qualifying accounts have them, as it will be less likely things will get messed up than a system that has to decide what character gets it. Unless, of course, you guys are actually setting up an infrastructure to support a real veteran rewards program.

So, who agrees with what me (and alot of other players) have said? I believe I am being rational when I say that the qualifying subscriptionperiod SHOULD NOT have to be a continuous period until JTL comes out. Please, people, if you agree with me, speak out! The more that's said against this bogus subscription ploy, the better. ALL vets should get this perk, not just those whohad enough money to keep a continuous subscription going for 6 months leading up to JTL. I, for one, am a student, and have to budget my money carefully. I tend to think it's unfair that those of us who've been with the game since BETA who've missed a month or two subscribing for reasons totally out of our controlshould have to wait for their reward while those who've been in the game for a shorter amount of time but for a 6-month period leading up to JTL getthe shipwhen JTL comes out. I'm guessing the JTL expansion comes out in 2-4 months. That's when they have it scheduled for, for Fall 2004, and they're already finishing up a lot of things with it, from what it looks like from previews and such. I believe those of us who deservethat shipand are being denied it should get it right after JTL launches, and NOT have to wait and watch others less qualified get theirs just because the guys in the marketing department decided to shaft a good majority of us. It's insulting, to say the least.Not to say those of uswho've been subscribing only 6 months at JTL launch shouldn't get it or don't deserve it, they do, but so do us LONG-time vets who, under the current plan, aren't going to getthat shipright away like we should. If you agree, post a affirmative "I agree!", I implore you. I'll continue to speak out on this issue, despite the flaming I might receive. If for no other reason, it should be done because it's the RIGHT thing to do, as I've said before. Indeed, sometimes, some things need to be done because its the just thing to do. It's as simple as that.

Since the whole point of this so called "veteran" reward is to keep people from cancelling their accounts and waiting for JtL, I wouldn't count on them backing off the continous subscription requirement. But as JtL is probably at least 4 months away, if you've been subscribed for the last 2 months and remain subscribed, you'll get the yacht. Plus, they have taken into account technical issues so that people with glitches or using time cards won't lose out.

I did not check about this prior to writing this, so I'll ask anyway: What are maintenance costs for this ship? Are the costs REALISTIC? One of the reasons I cancelled my account (after 10 straight months, not including the nearly two months in Beta Three up till launch) was that I found myslef just logging on to pay rent; doing missions to make creds, then pay rent. That was no fun. So are the space missions going to be aligned so that they will make paying for your ship an afterthought rather than a chore?
If a Developer or someone with knowledge can answer this that would be great.

I'll be honest with you QuiJonOz: I know it's coming out in a few months, and us vets who may have beenunsubscribed and had their "timers" reset will eventually get the shipwhen we reach 6 months. But I think you're off about when it's coming out. "Fall 2004" means, to me, at least, September to November, which means 2-4 months' wait. For me, though, it's the issue that, despite our devotion to the game, us vets who have been here longer than 6 months overall (I'm around 9-10 months; I've had the game since right after launch. Remember those days? I shudder to think of them...) will have to wait LONGER than a person NEWER to the game to get their Veteran reward for JTL! And why? Because we might have had a month or two lapse in our subscription, which in itself might have been out of our control for various reasons! I encountered money troubles recently. Not my fault, just the way things turned out, as it happened. Hmmm, let's see? Food or acomputer game subscription? You get the picture. And I'm sure I'm not the only one, although others might not have had it so hard. So my issue is with the ethics of such a decision. I know it's just a game, and just an in-game expansion-dependentreward in the end, but under the current system I'll have to wait and watchwhile others less qualified receive their rewards before I, and others, do. Is that right? My point is made, I believe...

Hey Q when you say a slight break in subscription, does 3 months count? Technically speaking if you look at it from the age of earth point of view then it is just a "slight " break, I mean really, its practically transparent. 
Better yet can i have two really cool paintings instead? i have two barren walls in my basement that need a filling. there are these two in the theed starport that would look great on those barren walls.
I am trying to be differnt here Q work with me. lol

That's one of my big points And the reason, as I said, that I had to unsubscribe for a while was because I fell on hard times. I'm back on my feet now, and can afford the investment I actually, funny enough, made that same deduction that, in a way, you're actually paying for the ship, so, in essence, it's less an award than it seems

Exactly! Though as there are fewer and fewer of us discussing this, I'm sure SOE will hope that people will forget all about this and no one will have to address this point (or come up with a real vet award program).

Lost my Elder status when i dropped my original character and only kept my alternate. Not sure if I am up to 6 months yet on this fella or not. Bad choice i guess ..!.,
