It really is bull**edit**, isn't it? You know, if I'm gonna bescrewed over, I at least want the one doing the screwing to be up front about it. SOE has the balls to call this a "Veteran" reward. Yea **edit**ing right... It's sad they get to get away with it, too... How many times do you think the devs have probably read through our posts while checking for new postson this thread? I hate to say it, but I think it's more than anyone here would want to realize. In the end, these people have no honor. They're just friggin' businessmen. They give us a "reward" to get something back; never is it an actual reward. And all they have to do to shut up the naysayers is ignore them and sidestep the issue. For once, wouldn't it be nice if a company decided to cut through all the crap and be up front with it's customers? Hell, maybe even treat them like humans every once and a while instead of numbers and statistics... I wonder how many other feel like we do? If only we could get all the disgruntled together and make a stand; they'd think twice about ignoring the demands of players if we "yelled" loud enough, if you get my drift! I just wish we could TALK to the devs for once about this, instead of having to listen to pre-written PR bull... Sigh...

At least we tried.

Just so you guys know (if you didnt), 6 consecutive months means 6 cons. months during anytime of the lifespan of the game. It couldve been August 2003 to February 2004, November 2003 to May 2004,March 2004 to September 2004, etc etc.

Uh, I wish it was, but that's our issue: It's NOT ANY 6-month consecutive period; it's only 6 months LEADING UP TO JTL. Read the fine print Not getting on your case or nothing, I appreciate you trying to clear up the issue, but I wouldn't be making such a big deal out of it if that were so. Check for Q's posts further back in this thread; the truth is sadly evident...

i have 2 questions.

Ihave 5 accounts, the last one being opened in november of last year. when i opened the last account, the billing date was differant than my other 4, and since i bought a 1 year subcribtion, i canceled the account.(it's still playable til dec 02 2004) does that mean this account will not recieve the ship?

Last monthi decided to use gamecards for my other 4 accounts. i have since cancelled them all, and gonna use a gamecard before they exipire. All 4 accounts are still playable for about another 2 months, so again, are these accounts gonna get the ship?

i read though the first 10 pages or so, and the only thing i saw was that they made an exception for gamecards. While my accounts may be cancelled, they are still and always have been paid for.(meaning none of my accounts never had to resubscribe to play)

Any information is helpful.

Thank you

Well, wish I could help you, but I don't know. Try finding a tech support number for SOE and calling them about it. Something tells me the devs don't look at this thread anymore... I wonder why?

Why cant they base this on initialization of the CD key........ I KNOW that they keep track of those and must have dates and such tagged somewhere in the "wealth" of knowledge.

If anyone can tell me a reason why this wont work im all ears. I dont think the developers really looked into this issue enough before opening their big dumb mouths!! Shoulda waited till kinks were worked out and possible problems were brought up and solved.

Because you can sell the game cd to someone else. And then they can start their own account.

So many people are quitting SWG for now and say they will return for JTL. THEY SHOULD NOT BE REWARDED!!!! Geez... okay I understand that the game is so broken to the point it's boring. But come on, what are their reasons?

They always say that PVP is unbalanced. That Jedi are going to invade the galaxy. Is that all you can do in SWG? No? That proves they aren't worthy of being called Veterans. If they cancelled now only a couple of months before JTL, why do they deserve to receive the Lady Luck ship? They don't. Give it to players who are still active, still playing, still having FUN! We are the ones that deserve a reward since we are the dedicated players who love this game for what it is.

Unlike people who cancel whenever they are fed up of how the game is and only return when something new and nice is there. Too many players do that. They cancel, then vehicules come out, so they come back to see how that is. Then they quit again because they are bored, and oh! What's this, Jedi holocrons, they want to unlock, they play, grind, quit because they are sick of grinding and didn't unlock. Now with JTL, they will come back, play through JTL, when they are sick of space, they will quit again. And on top of all that, since they have a total of 6 months or more of gameplay, they will get the Lady Luck Ship veteran reward? Is that what this is all about? Come on... am I the only one to see how unfair this is?

(o.O) --- Huh!? What happened?

Blah blah blah... Have you READ any of my posts? What's the issue? The issue isn't with the fact that they're giving a subscription loyalty award, it's that they're not CALLING it as such. Give a reward to people who have the resources to stay with the game, fine, but don't blow smoke up my ass and have the audacity to call it a "Veteran's Reward" I AM a veteran. I have had this game since launch. Yet, somehow, I do not qualify for this "Veteran's" award. Why? Because it ISN'T, that's why. A matter of semantics, yes, but it still matters. If they are going to call it a veteran's reward, then it better be for **edit**ing veterans. Give a reward to loyal subscribers, okay, but something should be thrown in for us vets who have done are best to stick it out, for the most part. Oh, and by the way, that little cycle you described? I played the game for 10 months STRAIGHT. Monetary issues forced me to leave the game for 3 months, but I came back BEFORE the announcment of this ship (shortly before, but still before) Why do I not deserve it, then, for 10 CONTINUOUS months of loyalty to this game? Such is the way I feel, and, I believe, many others feel who are in similar situations. I believe my point is made...

I was a little disappointed that you had to be subscribed for 6 consecutive months. I have been around in this game since Day 2. but i always let a few days slip by inbetween game cards(Sometimes a month when i take a break, but ALWAYS return). Mabye this could be addressed?
