I just saw the trailer and the graphics look nice. I only have one concern about the video: Is it me or does anyone else think the Tie and X Wing were moving too slow in the in-game videofootage? For ships that small they are supposed to be fast. Maybe they were on cruise or something but they seemed to moving too slow.Does anyone elsethink they were moving a little too slow?

If they were to move at their proper literal speed, you would never be able to hit them . Seemed like the right speed to me.

I just want to know how they intend to implement the combat in SE.

Is it 100% "twitch"?

Is it 80% "twitch" and 20% rpg?

What is it? In the old X-Wing games as long as you were properly lined up when you fired your ships weapons you would hit and score damage. There are a lot of people who play SWG who will try SE that do not have that level of motor skills or hand to eye coordination. I hope the developers thought about that. I wouldn't mind if the hitting your target was twitch skills with the odds of the targeted craft taking damage from the hits being RPG skills, that would be fine. Or even better you use twitch skills to line-up your targeted craft in your HUD and fire the ships weapons at them. Your chance to actually hit and damage the targeted craft was based on your RPG skills. So a good twitch player and a poor twitch player "could" compete on even ground.

I wonder if gun turrets on the transports will work? It would be neat and let the other passengers be able to do something during a fight. Might be difficult to get everyone sync'ed up though.

I still want word from the devs about joystick control on this... want joystick control... need joystick control... you didn't see Luke controlling his X-Wing with a mouse and keyboard...

Without reading all 9+ pages of this thread...

I'd just like to say as excited as I am for the SE, I am dissapointed to learn that it will cost skill points just to learn how to fly.

According to the video interview on IGN it will be a starting profession.

Meaning I will have to drop current skills in order to get a pilot cert...this is very bad news.

I have resisted the holo grind because my character was complete (besides being able to fly a ship) and I did not want to ruin it just for a grind that I might never finish. Now with the new jedi system I don't have to worry about that anymore.

But with this news of the SE, looks like I will have to worry about it again...and thats not good.

Since its an expansion, shouldn't we get just a few more skill points in order to take advantage of it without destroying everything we have worked for since release?

This has been confirmed at the E3 conference, you will be able to use a joystick, gamepad, or mouse and keyboard.

This has also been confirmed, 3 people can be at the controls,i believe it is 1 pilot, and 2 turret gunners, and up to 8-10 people (not finalized) will be able to WALK around the spaceship, and dance or whatever they want to do at the sametime! Oh, u can also decorate your YT-1300just like your house!

Heya !

I dont know if this issue is discussed anywhere in the bazillion JTL threads, so i choose this thread as the one who was opened by an official.

The skillpoints and the pilotprofession....

Dear SoE:

PLEASE GIVE US MORE SKILLPOINTS FOR THE EXPANSION !!

Argument:

The JTL is an "EXPANSION".
The current SP-system is balanced on the current game and the professions w/o expansion.

If you bring in an expansion which will come up with MORE profession that are no choices, which are "addons" (you need your prof. on the ground and in space similar), we simply need more skillpoints.

No added SP will end up in heavy flamethreads and complaining from the community...be so kind and avoid it instead of bringing the publish-15-Pilot revamp

Sneaky and unbelievable sciency math ( ) shows up, that we need at least 97 SP more....PLZ !

Tnx !

PS:

Maybe you could avoid "missusing" of added skillpoints by adding them as a "space only pool", so they are just usuble for space-related professions, no ground-related profs !

This is pretty much what I was trying to say...seems kind of pointless to take things away from us in order to enjoy the "expansion".
