Thread: Has anyone encountered a STAR DESTROYER yet?

I think the day will come when we see Star Destroyers and other captial ships and hopefully a few manned by players! Maybe even bring out of hiding the dreadnoughts that exist at this time but are hidden at a secret base. That would be cool also.

There really does need to be more Capital ships around. The total lack of them is upsetting and makes the space experience a lot less fun. When most of us think about Star Wars the first thing we think about is the Star Destroyer. I understand that the sectors are rather small... but perhaps they could be made slightly larger to accomodate a couple larger scale capital ship? It is just one of thoes things that is not game breaking but could make the game much much better.

The biggest problem with placing them in the other space zones are their immense size, there's just not room for them right now. That and the fact that it would pulverize any Rebel pilots starting their adventure in Naboo.
Maybe rebel pilots shouldnt be starting above the planet were the emperor is based on

Some of you just aren't getting the size thing right in your head... the thing can be seen from well over 10k away. IT. IS. RATHER. LARGE. And just imagine the lag you would get every time you looked at it, with all the noobs pouring over it, drooling. Instead of super battle cruisers in the noob sectors, I'd like to see more things like the Dark Eclipse flying around. Big, but not MASSIVE. And I'd like to see more vette's in kessel, gawd I love killing those things. The Rebel Space Station and ISD are bugged at the moment I believe, as players can solo them for millions of credits a pop (possibly using the shield exploit).
But deep space is just so laaaaggy, lol. There are soooo many fighters when they all get spawned. Hundreds of gunboats, bookoos of vettes, thousands of ships it seems, and giant ISD to top it all off... hehe, stink Rebels just get a base that looks nearly identical to what's in the lower sectors. I'll see if I can find some screenies of those sectors and such and post em.

Magnum, I noticed this comment too. It seems they might have plans to enlarge the zones later, or new zones that are larger.
If a dev said to me that they eventually want to make ISD/Corellian Cruisers operated (and craftable) by players, I would sign a ten year contract with SWG, lol.

mabye its on the other side of the planet... cmon stop kiddin yourself, you take off and go up. the star destroyers are up too. you dont take off and travel to the other side of the planet. (although with how long it takes to load sectors on this computer, you would think it did)
just put em in as a background or remove them from the ground.

The problem lies with them being able to be attacked and that brings the whole overt/non-overt deal back up. Personally, I'd like to see them in space zones like naboo or dathomir and then just make them unattackable and disable their guns. Just make it so they spawn tie fighters continiously. It'd be a cool place to go dogfight.

Star Destroyers are SMALL (600m). They could put some in many places.
The only ones that should need a special zone to fit are superstardestroyer which are like 12km long.
