Thread: Non-soloable missions in tier 3

Get used to it, you won't pass tier 4, let alone master without a lot of help. It got me PO'ed when I was in beta, but later on I discovered that helping people with missions and flying as a squardon is a lot more fun then going solo.
It is fun!! Ever since I mastered, that's all I've been doing, and having an absolute blast!!

That one sentence is where you implied it that it should be required to group.
Dont get me wrong people I'm all for grouping, BUT, it should not be required to happen in order to complete missions, at least not missions that are an intergal part of advanceing in skill, tiers, xp. It is of my opinion that the missions that could be made to where they require groups are those that do not hinge on weather or not you have body shot 2 or a YT-1300 but require the people that do them actually use tatics. Make the missions that require groups be for things like items, like the corvette mission.
So far, every master in my guild has been actively looking for people to group with and who are in need of help with their missions.
Why?
Because, once we tried it, we found out that it is a complete blast!! Much better than soloing! So far, in my year of playing SWG, I was a solo player. I completely see where you guys are coming from. I just could not find anyone that I particularly cared to share my time with.
But, at long last, I found an awesome group. My above offer stands to anyone who plays on Chilastra and cannot find a group. Send me a tell.
You've got to try out grouping on amission. ![]()

I have the same problem that you do. I have a tough time finding anyone to act as a wingman for me.I think your bigger problem than not being able to do your missions is your apparent lack of friends....
Don't listen to these brainwashed fanbois (this one seems to be their king, some kind of UberBoi). Just because it's an MMO doesn't mean you have to run around trying to make friends with every toon you see. Hell, most of these dysfunctional morons only experience of a "friend" comes from the virtual world (a dog eared 12 year old Darth Vader figure you've named "Pally Pal Pal" doesn't NOT count as a friend!) so it's no surprise they run around on these forums trying to tell you how sad YOU are because you don't have any virtual "friends." Boo freakin' whoo fanbois, some of us have lives we have to lead. This game is a casual form of ENTERTAINMENT, so make it casual or it will casually go down the toilet.
I prefer a solo game as a playstyle and I'm happy with that. I've been around a year, I've added many friends, and I've seen my friends list get depopulated many times. There's been lots of turnover. With my more limited play time lately and a wedding to plan, there's just not as much time to meet new friends.
And let me tell you, I've met more than my share of stupid groups that don't listen to me, then attack the nearest red thing without armor. I don't that.
The hyperspace trick I suspect is also something I bet will get fixed as well. I have come up with all matter of great ways to exploit that one.

Why would you think that was a bug? That trick is important for people soloing missions.BTW, grouping is fun, no doubt about that, Iusually groupto help my friends and guildies with their missions, butI soloed most of mine (currently 4433, only need 250K xp to get to the next box;already done the mission). The only mission I didn't solo was the last Tier 3 mission. I was going to solo that missionbut someone asked me at the starport if I could help him with his mission which happened to be the same one that I was on, so I said yes why not, we could help each other out.Obviously, we didn't konw that if two people in the grouparetaking the same mission, two sets ofenemy ships will spawn at everymission waypiont, so he failed his mission because we didn't know that we needed tokill two shuttles, one for his mission, one for mine. But anyway, that's the only mission I didn't solo, so far. Maybe the Inquistion path was too easy, I don't know.

I don't think they will fix the hyperspace trick. Some of us in beta, thought that hyperspacing to the same sector that you were in was a bug, but one of the dev told us that it won't change.

The upcoming Combat Upgrade will make it impossible to solo things. The is an MMOG, there is supposed to be grouping going on.
Why is it that just because this is a MMORPG people say that you HAVE to group to play or get out?? Or that your SUPPOSED to be grouping because this is a MMORPG?? Where in the world do you get "group" outta Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game?
Lets examine this for a second,
MMORPG = this...
M = Massive, massive means very very large.
M = Multiplayer, Multiplayer means more then one person can play the game. (there are tons of games that can have more then one person playing and yet they are suppose to destroy the other persons charactor. ex. doom, mortal combat, armored core, ... shall i go on??)
O = Online, Online means to be on the internet.
RPG = Role Playing Game, Role Playing Game means you can take up a persona thats in a game to act out.
So where in all of that does it say that you are Supposed to or Haveto be in a group?? NONE THAT I SEE!!!
I totally agree. And I am stuck in the imp tier 3 mission also. After 9 tries I have had it. The mission prevent me from advancing. I have enough xps to become 3-3-3-3, but the mission prevents this, I cannot advance. This mean I can not get into a better craft.

Oh - hate to break it to you - but they just made the game tougher by ramping up the speed of everything by a lot. Now your interceptor will have a hard time even catching a Y-Wing! Oh teh noes!!1!
Storm Squadron IS damn tough. A friend of mine grinding it asked my help last night - one mission had two T4 Novas, a T4 Gunboat, and ten escorts. I came out of THAT one bruised, mostly because bstrike3 failed.
