If you are saying that the Tie Defender does not fit in with the timeine then techniquely (sorry for the spelling) the a wing does not fit in the timeline. The a wing was built shortly before the battle of endor.

Actually there should be prototype a-wings and b-wings at this point since ackbar is around. The b-wings in the game are crap compared to what they should be and the A-wings aren't the fastest ships in the game (which they should be). So through a little rationalization it fits. Now the TIE Defender was so limited in production, having them in player hands would be foolish. Now... as an NPC only ship, that would be one fun fight!

The Tie Defender Program was developed between the Battle of Hoth and was fully prepared by the Battle of Endor according to Tie Fighter

It WOULD have been had the who Zoran thing not occured. If you remember that game, they pretty much tied up the lose ends with the TIE Defender ever showing up in Endor by saying that it's full production and plans had to be destroyed because of the attempted coup or whatever. Been so long... But I hated fighting that thing in a mass-production advanced...

I wounder if they'll include the TIE defender in a future expansion. I hope so it was my fav. TIE when reading the EU books and playing the TIE fighter games.

From what I remember, the general consensus was that the TIE Defender would unbalance the game because it is such a dominating ship. I'm not sure if it fits in with the timeline, either.

why not add the v38 instead. it fits with the timeline and has as cool a look as the tie defender

TIE Defender WOULD be unbalancing, but that's not bad. Something for the ultra-Elite Imp. Difficulty should be Firespray x 1000 to get. Quest for each piece, and what not.

Would be a perfect opportunity to Introduce Grand Admiral Zaarin (if they haven't already, I'm not an IMP, so don't know the theme park...)

Timeline wise - TIE Defender was introduced shortly before the Battle of Endor, and saw very limited use/production.

But knowing this game, what has come, and what is to come, timeline has no meaing. I'm just waiting for Yoda to give out missions and have a Death Star somewhere in Deep Space that has a 4hr respawn timer.

Sounds like the B-wing.

Defenders and E-wings added. I'm all for it! Better than the prequel content we keep getting.

"Basically, once you see the inner workings of the Dev team you realize their game model is really just grind and stall. Make the players grind and grind so they keep paying and when there are problems stall stall stall so they keep paying waiting for fixes. Really...all the cores that quit recently are the ones that have figured this out."
