i agree with a few of you that the friday feature today was pretty lame. it seems pretty lazy to me. just use screenshots that could have been taken a month ago, forget to write something worth reading, and post these pictures that they could post at any time. imho, my more fave features were the ones that looked server wide at some of the things like, who had the most money, how many people have earned which badges (i liked seeing which profs were mastered more than others), that type of thing. stuff that would still be somewhat interesting 6 months from now. these screenies will be something we all will have then, but to know some of those astromech stats will remain cool to go back and look at.

the screenies were cool, but very boring.

Just when I think the game is about to get Star-Warsy... another screwup.

HEY DEVS:

TIE Fighters are called TIE Fighters because of the acronym for Twin Ion Engine. One lens flare in the back of a TIE is blatently wrong.

I agree it's out of continuity, but this is what gives you the Star-Warsy feeling? Sorry pal, that really sucks. I'm sure there was a nicer way of putting what you just said, ending in the same result. Give these guys a break, the task of fulfilling a Star-Warsy feeling forevery playerthat was originally based off of a 2 hour movie (and expanded upon infinitley) is a daunting task.

P.s. Devs please fix the engines

You'll go right through it. No collinsions in MMOGs, ground or space.

Not true, the Devs has stated collision with large asteroids. You"ll go through smaller 'roids though, or there is an animation...can't remember which.

And for the record MMOs do have collision, play PlanetSide.

You may be right, Player. I do remember something about it now that you've mentioned it. But even though you'll have collisions with LARGE objets, they still will NOT damage your ship. That is what I remember from that article.

When I said MMOG I meant MMORPG, which PlanetSide isn't

Yeah, I'm not sure if large ones do damage or not. Good question! I hope they do, but I can see the grief tactics...maybe.

Check this out, one of the new screens on LucasArts...sure looks like large asteroid collision:

Not sure though.

FFXI has collision as well as Neocron (well, its collision that allows passage after x timeperiod to prevent griefing)

My GOD you're all a lot of whining bastards...go play the game already, or go play something else! These are some nice screenshots and give those of us looking forward to JTL a little more to look at.

Why is our fickle gaming populace full of the type of people who gripe every time some new bit shows up that THEY just don't happen to have interest in??? Systems problems aside, it's people like you guys who have made long time followers of the game give up because you've turned the environment from a realm of intelligent discussion to a pit of blah blah blah, whine whine whine.

Already playing something else, thanks.

I do still have two months left paid up for this god-forsaken game. Since it is far too mind numbing to play, I choose to exercise my $15.00 bucks a month on the forums reminding everyone how boring this game is.

Discussing why this game is doomed to fail, though, is no less intelligent than cheering everytime you see a pretty picture or get information from the developers.

That's great that you're playing something else - me too, but I'm still playing Galaxies from time to time, and still see the possibilities for it to become a great MMO in the long term. If you find the game mind-numbing and dull, what satisfaction do you get from trying to ruin other people's experience? Perhaps discussing "why this game is doomed to fail" isn't unintelligent, but it's most definitely not productive. If I was on the dev team, you've given ample reason to ban your account immediately IMO.

Freaking people.

One thing bugs me, the YT-1300 in all the pics has the cockpit on the right of the body. In the SW books, etc, it is stated that this was just one variant, the other configurations being central between the mandibles and offset to the left.

Will Shiprights be able to produce all configurations or, like so much else in SWG, are we stuck with one variant?

Maybe if you were on the dev team we'd have a better game.

I have given up on the prospects for this game. They continue to take it in the wrong direction. I wash my hands of it. I followed these forums from the day they opened up, years before the official launch date when the boards were wiped. I had such high hopes. I tried so hard to like it even when I stopped enjoying the game. I have done everything there is to do in this game and finally came to the end of my rope. Cancelled all my accounts and won't look back.

I wanted to play this game forever, the devs ruined that.

Why do some of you whine about a game that's not even out yet ? Why Why Why ?

Have you resigned yourselves to discontent before you have even played the thing yet ? If so, do you think this he healthy, smart, or otherwise a good course of action ? I do not.

If you have something you'd like to see in the game, great, post it in a constructive manner (as many have on this form). If you are voicing your discontent on the game based on a loose collection of information that you have gleaned as least second-hand (if not less) then you should rethink you position and perhaps endeavour to learn to program and make your own game. Failing that, attempt to resign youself to evaluate the beta and/or final product when it comes out. I suspect many of the early naysayers on these posts haven't the slightest idea what JTLS will be like as a whole. How could they ?

If, for instance, you are whining about the TIE not having two engines ... what is to say that it will still not be faster than a chosen single engine craft? You have no idea, yet you whine.

As i said in another post, the devs have better things to do, such as code the actual game.

Simmer down, y'all, and save the discontent for when the game is at least in beta.
