I don't understand the complaining. All the ships, with the possible exception of the starter levels, have their uses even after you get to master. It isn't like it is an all important must have ship that will make or break the way the game is played.



I'm not happy that the Y-wing and the Longprobe are the same ship. I'm not happy that z-95's were the Rebel startership. I think they should have been a neutral ship since they were primarily used in most sources I have seen as pirate fighters. However, we have before us a game with several diverse ships all with their own unique uses.

There are so many ships the Devs could use without creating even the original Hutt and Black Sun craft, it's just sad. Jump to Lightspeed could have... in fact, should have, been closer to the movies than the ground game, but the Devs just can't figure out that they've killed Continuity, sliced it into a billion peices and spread it over the country side.

That do not exist in the Star Wars movies or EU outside of this game... that's the problem as far as I'm concerned.

I see this in two lights...

In one, I'm very disappointed that instead of taking the time and making a new ship unique to the Freelance Masters, they just took the Kimo and slapped a few small changes on it. That's annoying. That's saying "meh, we're doing this just to shut you up", not "hay, we're doing this because you guys really need it".

In the second light, I'm glad that we have a Freelance Master ship. I personally havn't gotten my hands on it yet (that is if it's even in game yet), but I'm assuming it can hold a lot of fire power, and a lot of mass... which is what we need... Imps are about numbers, Rebels are about speed, and we're about power.

Hopefully, maybe, this ship will be changed before publish if it hasn't been put into the game yet. If not, all well... I guess we got what we wanted... can't really complain THAT much... but a clone of the Kimo... Lame, Devs, Lame.

Im a novice 3D artist so i know its hard to do models with high detail very quickly. I did a X-wing in about 24 hours total, and it was an ok model with no real textures to it. so just because the model looks like it was thrown together it might of been so they could test the fighter for game balance and bugs, they may be planing to change the way it looks its only been 1 day.




Let's also look at it from the perspective of:

1. Privateers ask for master-level ship.

2. Devs make one off-schedule and unannounced, although it's kind of a stopgap solution using a tried-and-tested design that's already in the game - but it's still a decent ship.

3. Players sh*tcan the design and functionality, some saying they wanted a ship that was better and prettier than the Rebel/Imperial master ship, not some re-hack of a ship they already have.

4. Devs get angry and bitter, and never give Privateers anything ever again, since they were ungrateful enough to spit on their generousity when they really should be focusing on the combat and loot revamp.

Moral of the story: you got a ship that is essentially a B-Wing with a turret. So what if it's not pretty. I'm sure the Rebels would like a B-Wing with a rear turret capability...and if they had one, you'd want this ship and not shut up until you got it.

I'm SOOOOO goddamned sorry you didn't get a 300k mass ship with the turning attributes of a TIE Interceptor, but that's the way the cookie crumbles.

Do yourself a favor and READ the threads you post in. If you would have, you would know that we do NOT want an "Uber" Ship. Just one that´s not a thrown together Copy of one of the most disliked Privateed ships!


If they would have made annother dunlizard/ixien or whatever style then it STILL would be loads better then a kimo copy!


It´s all about the hitprofile man!

It's funny that everyone keeps screaming for another YT-1300 variant. Another bulky MP ship that can easily be hit in the dark by a drunk Stevie Wonder during an epileptic fit.


It's a perfectly legit Hutt style model. Why everyone keeps screaming for Black Sun variants, I don't know. We can't run missions for and ally ourselves with Black Sun. We run missions for CorSec, RSF, and JABBA theHutt(not to be confused with Abba, the band).


I've also only seen these two screencaps of it. Do we have any idea of its relative size? How about how it handles pitch/yaw/roll? The chassis may look Kimo-ish, but I'd just about wager that it doesn't handle like a Kimo.


How about you people wait to try these things out before judging them? If you don't like it after that, then cry. The rest of the population with any sense still won't listen, but at least you can add some inkling of justification to the little tantrums.




And yes, I'm a privateer.

If those pictures are accurate, then I won't be touching the thing. THe fact that SOE employees and Artist..These people are paid!!.... would shove some have built space/whale with a turret at us is unprofessional. They must really not have a lot of pride in their work to turn out a windows paint job on a Kimo for public use.

This is a classic case of breaking something to fix it. Neutrals HAD a master ship, the Firespray, and neutral ship it should have remained. Neutrals lost the Firespray to everyone else WHEN EVERYONE ELSE WHINED ABOUT IT! So all those that flame neutrals as whiners need to turn the clock back to why neutrals DON'T have a master ship.

Everybody else whined about not having the Firespray?



Odd, especially since it was the way it is now since release. I'm quite sure that not "everyone" was in Beta to know or care about to whom the Firespray was available at the time.


And at least as is, the Firespray is a rare ship which is kind of nice.


How old would it have gotten if it was a standard issue master level freelancer-only ship? How many of "everybody" would whine then that are simply too many of them and all that jazz.


I'm still enjoying the multiple posts saying that the poor freelancers have a master ship based on a design of a lower tier ship. You seen the Imperial ships available? Light Duty TIE, TIE, and TIE/In all look identical. Aggressor and Oppressor are pretty much the same hull. Bomber is same chassis as the Advanced, but with a gun/ordnance/munitions pod tossed in the middle. And this is how they've always been. And Imps aren't throwing a fit at all.


I'm enjoying the selection of Freelance chassis styles, the customization aspects which you don't get w/ the Imperial ships, and the fact that most chassis types have multiple styles. You don't see a Tie Interceptor Style 2 anywhere do you?



Funny thing is, if the new master ship was much smaller (as everyone keeps yelling about the kimo's profile) - there would be an uproar of people complaining about the fact that it has less mass than other master ships (since if it were small, it would obviously have to hold less).
