Oh and you are completely right, I complain about the Jedi I see, but the real quality Jedi and Sith RPers are the ones who walk right by without my every knowing...

Then I gurss I am a pretty good RPing jedi... No one knows I even exist, the only time I go into a dity is to heal BF and fix my bike and I never go to coronet or Theed SP, wear my robe, or equip my saber in public, and I wear the title of 'Explorer'

By the way, I was master doctor before I started grinding, kept it a long as I could before I dropped to do other profs. I dropped doc for 3 weeks and after I unlocked, remastered doctor. SO I do play my main, and my chosen prof like anybody else. My main is 11 point dotor, makes killer stims and buffs, he also pvp's and hunts krayt/elders as a speed capped rifleman.

Just for giggles, I like to get into solo groups in MO and watch the Jedi banter from the newer players, especially the people grinding BH talking about their plans upon reaching Inv. III. I play my Jedi in a fashion that none even notice I'm there, and those that do are not aware of my FS nature.

Seriously? I guess it's plausible. I've never read any of the EU books. Not from lack of interest, really, more from not know where the hell to start, and which ones are worth it at all.

Timothy Zahn's "Thrawn" trilogy are good. Can't remeber if the first one is Heir to the Empire, or Dark Force Rising. Set within 5 years or so after ROTJ I believe.

FYI Snow_Wolf EU Books I have read almost all of them, so here goes Start out with the Zahn books Heir to the Empire, Dark Force Rising, The Last Command, then Jedi acadamy trilogy, Black Fleet Crisis trilogy, X-wing books, I, Jedi, Courtship of Princess Leia for the nightsisters, and the new jedi order series. Most of those deal with Luke, Han and Leia post Return of the Jedi. Haven't ready much of the Clone wars stuff yet, just the one with Mace Windu Shatterpoint. Should get you started in the EU.

I'm not really sure who I'm more disappointed with... the devs or the players.

I'm fairly new to SWG (been around about 6 weeks) so I don't know anything close to all there is to know about the game. However, I've made a few observations:

-Players that aren't Jedi hate Jedi.

-The developers made sure that Jedi were limited to people who like to actively participate in sacntioned griefing, otherwise known as PVP.

Why do players hate Jedi? Is it jealousy that they don't have the time to spend grinding the necessary skills to get there? I saw a thread on the BH boards about keeping the new Jedis that spawn after publish 10 down by harrassing/killing them at every turn. Why?

Why are Jedis madatory-PVP? Some of us don't like PVP. In large part, those who do like PVP are the same people that find fulfillment in using aimbots in FPS games. I can see the bounty hunter missions for them. But to require PVP for rank progression? It doesn't make sense to me. Maybe that's part of why people hate Jedi... they're forced to kill other players in order to advance. But then, unless I'm mistaken, you're not going to be randomly cut down by a Jedi anyway unless you're Overt,so it's people that have willingly submitted to full-time PVP that are the victims anyway. If you click on the conversation box that says "I want to declare my faction" then you really have no right to complain about getting killed by anyone.

So basically I have two conclusions to go with my two observations:

-All of the Jedi-hate is stupid. You know, if you don't count the droids, the original Star Wars trilogy had 5 main characters: Luke, Leia, Han, Chewbacca, and Vader. Three out of the five were Force Sensitive (even though Leia didn't "unlock her FS slot" until the end ). If you want to add in the Emporer and Obi-Wan as "main" characters, that's 5 out of 7. No freaking wonder people want to be Jedis. The entire story revolves around them! FFS, the logo for the message boards I'm typing this on is three Jedi in an arena, with what appear to be other Jedi watching. Hell, as far as I'm concerned, anyone that wants to should be able to pick Jedi at character creation. If you need roleplay backbone for having a ton of Jedi, it's pretty easy... Yoda has decided to take on students after teaching Luke, and so the Jedi population is rising. To counter this, Vader and the Emporer have begun to train more Sith knights to aid in the re-destruction of the Jedi. There, you have the whole reason. What else would you need?

-I will never play a Jedi. It's not about time or effort... if I wanted to, I could get there. My fiancee spends enough time on EQ that she couldn't complain about me spending a lot of time on SWG. So I have no problem with time. No, my problem is PVP. I don't want to have to engage in it. At its base roots, PVP sounds cool. But all PVP ends up being is a massive gank-fest that has all the fun of getting beaten about the head daily. No thanks. I'll keep my Fencer on one server and BH on another, and not take any Jedi missions with the latter.

Live and let live. People should be able to play the game how they want, as long as they do it fairly, without garnering the hate of other players. As a non-Jedi, all I can say is "rock on, my Jedi friends." You'll get no hate from me as long as you pay me the same respect.

You see, the problem with your post is that it takes reasoning and critical thinking skills to understand your message. The same skills that people who dislike Jedi lack.

every god dam game should have full open pvp. (with sever consequnses though to curve the rampant pking...)

That would solve 99% of the issueswith grifers and whiners.
