More blame should rest on the devs for this. There has to be PVP simply because the game lacks any meaningful contenent.
PVE is a bit static. You can only have so much fun killing stuff in the geo cave and at Fort Tusken before getting bored with it.
Implementing PVP into the jedi system is an easy way out for the devs. "Ah, we have no more ideas or we're just too lazy to put them in game, so let's just have the jedi hammer on each other."
How about Dagobah? Knight trials that aren't a stupid waste of time? Jedi mission terminals for dynamic missions with difficult targets (that you don't grab two at a time and are done with in 5 minutes)? A more manageable grind so jedi can play around with their templates (since we're not supposed to all be alike)? I don't think these things are too much to ask.
Devs may remind everyone that this is a game that is still making progress. Seems to me that it's a game that is in constant motion..."progress" is in the eye of the player, and to be honest, I don't see it.

You knew you will be forced to pvp why did youever worked to open fss? This is by game design and you forced yourself on it. Don't be a sorrow looser, BHs have no respect to such as you.

Don't forget as well you dont have to PvP as a jedi. You can finish your template and just opt not to do the knight trials - because at the moment, there is no real reward for the hassle of being perma-overt.

good points here,
i wish more would think like you.
personally i dislike the pvp aspect also. imo they should make just pure pvp servers like eq had.
you are right that mostly pvp players are different in opinions and wishes then mmorpg gamers.
so to split them into different servers would be greatest solution and and let ALL players enjoy star wars galaxy as it could be. same as in eq. i played eq 4 years on a non pvp server and all had a great time.
and thr pvp players on a pvp server wont have to worry about supply of armor and such, because i am very sure if devs would allow crafters to stay neutral, then there is a huge market and some would sure dedicate their time to set up alot shops on that servers, bearing their shops to supply everything and run a nice business.
i would same time like to see added alot more npc gcw content for the normal servers, so the star wars feeling would become more clear and gives great playtime

I can certainly understand your frustration. I'm in the same boat to a certain degree- I have a job, a family and only a few hours a week to play this game, which makes getting through anything significant a fairly large undertaking.
In your case, you probably only need wingman to help you get through this mission, so maybe just find a pilot that's willing to watch your six while you blast some baddies. Longer-term, the need to be in a group to get through higher-end JtL content is only going to increase, so I'd recommend maybe trying to find a PA or guild that you can either ask for help or schedule events to get through the content.
Or maybe you can go to your Galaxy forum and post a message explaining your situation. Get a few low-level pilots together and help each other through the content. You can use the forums to schedule a time and place in-game to meet so you can all hit it at once.
The thing I've learned about this game is patience. I burned out on it a while back trying to get way too much done in the amount of time I had. I really got sick of it. Now I just kind of kick it, and I make armor at about 1/1000th the rate I used to, but I'm having a lot more fun. Now if I can just figure out the Warren... (and I know there's guides, I just like to bull my way through. More fun).
Anyway, good luck and don't give up on it just yet. Find a few people that are on around the same time you are and work out times to help each other out. One additional person on a mission like that is a force multiplier that will probably get you through it.
Good luck.

seems you arent used to simulations.
jtl is a sim. it is not a matter of 30 hrs/ a week playing and skill bettering by grinding.
if youre good with your hand, youre on.
ah, and get a joystick.

I'm sure every BH on these forums saw the thread that was recently deleted. I understand where a thread can be deleted if it becomes one troll after another, and although that thread had several instances of it, the central theme of the thread was very important.
But now itisgone without any real resolve.

I am not going to rant and rave over how much this publish has disappointed me, That has already been covered. I am not going to say this game stinks. I liked Galaxies a lot. Ever since I played UO 6 years ago, I wanted a Star Wars based game to play. I found out about SWG was coming out, met up with a great guild before release. I have played this game on two accounts. Both times with Clan Alya. Great bunch of mature gamers (yes, I am even claiming that Rixen is a mature gamer). Sadly, even the guild cannot keep me here this time.
Flame away if you want. This is not a petition to sign. You do not even have to respond. I just want to say goodbye to all the Jedi, BH, Merchants, and everyone else I have known over these past two years (off and on). If things ever get better I may come back. But honestly this has burned out my desire for the game. I'll just have to wait and see. Good luck everyone.

I definitely understand your need for a post. But the problem with these forums is nobody really cares about fellow jedi. It's like we're all at war with one another on here. Nothing but flames. It's quite sad really, the reason you're quitting is basically what we brought on ourselves. Not you but all the constant bickering and whining going on between the BH and Jedi community. I do hope this game gets better because Star Wars is a great story and to play a MMO game is fun. This game used to be fun and now it isn't, good luck to you in whatever you do.

well tell you what this is not after CU... SOE has been doing this mess since day one... grows tiring ona person...
we dealt with soe not fixing bugs and not fixes professions for over the first year... they push out CU to only give us the same old crap bugs... bugs they cant fix...
the constant gimps... and the one profession gimp that has only kept me here... jedi... if this was any other game then star wars... i would of left long time ago....
soe has found ways to destroy this game...they dont fix bugs they say they fix... when they do fix another bug it opens up another...
same old story different chapter....
I have 5 accounts shared with my bro.... me and him are about fed up with SOE... we love star wars... we love what it can be... but our desire to load on our gimped jedi has become depressing... jedi are not 1.5 times stronger as stated by the devs... one well equipped and well templated bh can defeat a jedi with ease...
so with all that said... this will be my last SOE game ever... they need to go back to school or get some vet programmers.... these clowns have serious issues on trying to program such a giant franchise....i mean seriously it took players to fix the rubberbanding... not even the hired development team could fix it...

You know all those broken loot items in game? Being a "Fixer" you can repair them. Well at least that's what some noobs think. At least it's fun to play along with.
Actually the title, lame as it is, refers to someone who fixes things like fixing a fight or a race or a game... Kind of like the mafia or Don King.
