Ok, Ill add something here, and Ive mailed play.com for an answer as well.
I have , here at work, a UK CD version installed. Iam also in beta.
Now, Im fairly sure, that as we know ehere the offices are based, the beta jtl is the us version.
On install, beta copies over some files form your swg folder, it happilly copied mine.
that to me, at least, would suggest compatibility irrespective of version.
As said, I have a gamestop pre order for pone of my accounts, i was planning on ordering the second from play, as its £17-99 .
I have asked them to clarify for me, and explain how I couls play on US servers if my JTL isnt compatible.
I am still(after a day) awaiting a response.

I actually own the "german" version of SWG.
And now guess what. Theonly "german" part is the manual.
The game itself is completely the same like the us/uk/wherever version.
I play on Chilastra what is anUS server.
I'm in the beta what is US
I download the patches through the launcher as everyone else does.
I can play on european servers in the same way as on US ones.
Thats what makes SWG/JTL much cooler then other mmorpgs.
So I have 100% no doubt that all versions are compatible.
The only difference between european and us servers is the location.
Ifyou log into them, you will always see the same buildversion in your upper right corner.

On play.com they clearly mean that according to them the Euro JTL is not compatible with a US swg.

Possibly something to do with the keys to activate the JTL expansion. I doubt that there would be any difference between the 2 games tho.

Without getting myself in trouble as far as I know....UK does NOT work with US version....or vice versa.
Edit : This is based on what I've read, and seen from other game companies. Other then that I have no proof, so please don't take it to heart.....I just don't know to be honest.

I bought the US version of ED. Launchpad actually recognised this and downloaded the Activision licenses and Europeon manuals in various languages. In theory converting it to the Europeon version of the game.
Read into that what you will.

hey you can t be serious thinking that you just can combine the US and Euro version
that won t work
but importing it from canada for me is cheaper than buying it here in europe
sure with DHL shipping it would be a bit more expensive but i don t need it in the first week. And i hope they ll fix tons of bugs between relaese and the day i get it

Translated manual. I don't think an american want to read a german manual. Software will be the same.
