We just mentioned that Play.com says:
Expansion Pack NOT compatible with US version of Star Wars Galaxies
They didn't mention that when I pre-ordered it a few weeks ago. If this is really the case, I'll have to cancel it and pay twice as much to import it.
Does this mean there will be a EU and US version of the expansion? Meaning literally everyone who was forced to import SWG last year (because the European date was months later) is again forced to import it for $29.99, pay $19.99 shipping and 19% tax?
Are US SWG's (I bought it at a shop in our country who imported them at the US release) really different from the current EU versions that are sold here?
We are able to play with both on all servers, in spite of your billing address (like WoW will)....
Could we get some clearance on this? Is this because of a technical difference?
lthough I really don't know, it just simply does not make sense that there would be two versions of a game. Why would the devs make another version for europe? Why would there even be a need for a different version. Just doesn't make sense.

The same reason nearly all sierra games have a UK english and a US english version (that aren't the same code and don't use the same patches, stupid I know)
I'd really like an answer on this too

I have one UK copy and the US copy that I bought when it first came out. Now I use both at the same time. they only patch once, and they seem to work onthe EU and US servers without any problems. Why the hell should they make the EU JTL not work with the US SWG, are they activly trying to alienate their customers and send them elswhere, or are they going the same way WoW are and not making EU and US servers compatiable. OR are Play.com talking out of their asses?
