I'm wondering if there's going to be atmospheric flight. If you're flying from Bestine to Mos Eisley can you just get in your ship and head out, or do you have to go into space and land again? Plus I would like to see ships as kind of a flying house. You could store some items in your ship but you would need a large 'footprint' area to land in the wild. This would prevent people from using ships to track Rancors. Plus a ship should only be able to fire upon another ship. Personal weapons would hardly scratch a ship.

I dunno, but the idea of pullin out a starship from your pocket is extremely funny.
If flying is a twitch system, then u control where you are heading, so I imagine once in space you input coordinates for Lightspeed to get to different planets. I cant imagone flying from Naboo to dantoine without such a feature.
My biggest problem right now is that there will only be 2 New Races, and thats rediculous, i mean i'd rather have it delayed then only have 2 more Races to chose from, plus thwe do need 50 more skill points.
Other things i could complain about though it looks good.
Im really hoping for Sullustans (who I think are a shoe-in anyway) and Duros.
Sullustans: Provides another smaller species for height variety, has a unique face but otherwise normal humanoid features (no need to design a leg that bends backward at the knee or anything like that, they will work with all existing emote animations and posture animations) Customization could be focused around eye and jowl size, with some minor skin variation colors. If they got permission they could add some greater skin variety, as we have only seen the tan colored sullustans before. Nien Nunb is a sullustan, and is Lando's co-pilot on the falcon in return of the jedi, for those that dont know.
Sullustans hail from Sullust, a volcanic world where they live in vast underground tunneled caves. Sullustans have developed excellent nightvision (resist to blind perhaps?) and an excellent sense of direction that has lead many of the species to become reknowned pilots (some kind of bonus to the pilot profession here, which is what makes it perfect for the space expansion). Something like 85% of the sullustan population on sullust works for the Sorosuub Corporation, which produces everything from droids to starships to blasters to datapads, and is a major competitor with BlasTech and Merr Sonn, the other two major arms corporations.
Duros: The Duros are another average sized species, however they definately deserve to be added into the Space Expansion. They have a nice range of skin tones in a variety of grey based colors such as a grey-green and a grey-blue. They are otherwise humanoid shaped, which means again, they fit in with all current animations. Customization could focus around the wrinkle patterns, skin color and chin, which seems to be what changes the most from duros to duros. There are two-three duros having a discussion in the mos eisley cantina, wearing grey space suits in E4.
Duros hail from the world duro, which consists mostly of space based stations that house the population, as the planet itself is a huge bio-hazard. The duros, along with corellians, are both theorized to have been the first species to travel the stars, and can be found all over the galaxy, nearly as common as humans are. They are also excellent pilots which could translate into some SE profession bonuses for them. They are also known explorers, which could translate into a scout profession bonus too. Another nice aspect of the Duros, is that they are the genetic cousins of the Neimodians, of prequel fame. This means that in the future, or perhaps for the SE, you could include neimoidians as a separate species using much of the same work you have already done.
The bottom line is that both of these species have space as a heavy element to their people, and they are two of the species that most feel like they are missing from this game. Neither species has a continuity issue. Neither species has any unbalancing powers or abilities. Neither species requires additional work on part of the devs. Both species were popular enough to rate their own hasbro action figures (early in the line, too.) And both species are seen in the films. Plase make an annoucement on which two species you are including, so fans can start giving you feedback on your choices.
I was just reading my new PC Gamer and saw this:
"To bring back that timeless XvT vibe, the game will let you control starfighters with flightsticks"
Sweeeeet.

Hyperspace, Lightspeed, it's all good.
YES finially the reason I bought this game in the first place, I alomst left my seat when I read that this game was going to be "twitch" with skill enhancements. Nice way to work in our charachter skills. personally I dont think you can have a space combat/exploration sim thats not twitchy. I've played the beta for" earth and hmmmm you know" and it wasn't twitch at all, it was skill based And I've never been so bored playing it. Asa veteran going back all the way to X-wing and every starwars sim to release after, this is a good thng ... a VERY good thing.
jumping through hyperspavce isn't like dusting crops boy!
read.....(grinding xp boy)
