Thread: Friday Feature June 25 – Veteran Reward Ship

I checked with the subscription group and there is a brief grace period. So Game Card users and people with a couple days of problems with accounts should get the veteran reward.
To my knowledge, the only way to get this ship is as a veteran (like you can't get goggles with getting the special edition).
Thank you for the clarification Q!

Thank you Q!!! I have only had 2 short subsciption problems, but this ends all my worries since they only lasted for a few hours. I will now go and start a religion in your honor.

Today we proudly announce our first veteran reward. Go here to see details.
This week we’ve added new JTL forum avicons, Fan Fest Puzzle 3 and are currently setting up the Great Gorax Hunt event on all of the servers. We’ve got a little bit more to do today and tomorrow and early next week to celebrate our 1 year anniversary. Stay tuned!
Don’t forget to check out the Player Hosted Event Schedule to see what celebrations are happening in your galaxy!

Let me get this straight...we get a ship...we can't use...Unless we buy the expansion pack...We have played this bugged out game, for me since september or so...and others since beta and launch...endured horrible patches that crash the server...so much so it is the norm not the exception...we have been tried and true throughout all of this...and you give us, frankly Nothing. Basically I am not getting my ship for free...I am paying however much the expansion pack costs...i believe the term is Jerk...I can think of more colorful words, as I am in the Navy...but I would not wish to hurt your feelings though you hurt ours regularly...the you in this paragraph being used as a general for SOE...and the Development team...
Granted, it is a nice ship...that we can't use for months...which will probably be bugged so we can't use them...BUT why didn't you give us something we can use now...as in...say...reduced fair for the spaceports...prolly impossible...1 mil creds...which is possible...and trust me...the economy is already shot...this could not do the least bit of damage...maybe a cheesy statue...a limited edition painting non tradable...seems like I am thinking of many rewards...yet you give us a ship...that we can't Use...maybe we all get a month of swg free...or even a week...

Q, what about some sort of option in-game that will let you see your status? Creation date? Hours played?
Star Wars Galaxies is pleased to announce the first veteran reward for longtime players! Veteran players are those players who have subscribed for at least 6 consecutive months. These players will receive the deed for the multi-passenger ship model SoroSuub Personal Luxury Yacht 3000 the day Star Wars Galaxies: Jump to Lightspeed launches. This starship model has been popularized in Star Wars fiction by Lando Calrissian's personal vessel, the Lady Luck. Non-veteran players will receive the reward once they become veteran players. Similar to the Special Edition goggles, this item will not be tradable.
Ok as I see this you can unsubscribe or cancell you account for a few weeks here, take this as an example I Started playing November 2003 on the Euro server, I cancell today 29/06/2004. I stay unsubscribed until 28/07/2003. Now look at my months subscription , November 2003 until June 2004 = 8 months and resubscribing in July 2004 now makes it 9 consecutive months. Yes I have cancelled but looking at it I have been subscribedat some point during each of those 9 months. So in my opinion that makes me elegible as I have been subscribed in each of the last 9 consecutive month and I think that would hold up in a europeancourt of law, not sure if you Americans would get it as I don't know how your laws work.

Does anyone know how this will effect the Shipwright profession. I mean, if everyone who has been playing for 6 months gets one of these, and anyone who hasn't will get one when they reach 6 months... won't that suck the life out of people buying ships? Or is there going to be a time limit on this when you have to have reached your 6 months?
How is this actually going to play out exactly?

LOL, You are assumeing players will want to use it! Odd are it will not be the fastest most powerfull ship there is, even if you do max upgrades.
Whilst that's true it will still have an effect.
There will be people who wanted a starship just to cruise around in. Before, they would still have had to buy it (even if it was a bargin 1 credit...)
Now they know that they can just hang around for a bit and they'll have one delivered to them by the local showroom, just for living up the road for a while. I wish the Jaguar dealership up the road from me did that...
