How will this effect the GCW, since this will be out, now everyone is going to want to be in space instead of playing the game in the planets. Will there be ground battles while at the same time space battles. Mabey in a battlefield you can make it so in order to win there has to be a ground mission complete and in the space there has to be a space mission completed while fighting each other and if both objectives are won then they get a reward mabey the people who participated in the battles and lived will be awarded a badge in which that badge will allow them to have better loot findings.


For example if i had a badge described above then i would have mabey 3 % better findings of loot such as better skill tapes and such, mabey whatever new loot comes out. This would make it so people are playing in planets and in space.


If the GCW space battle was there while the ground battles are going on battlefields, there should be a limit per side in space, say a 10 on 10 and whoever goes and destroys the base generator


Another way to make it so people are still on planets is have FUEL for these ships, for example i run out of fuel while I'm flying I should have a message saying you have 10 minutes to get to a planet otherwise the ship blows up. Then when you arrive on a planet, you cant just get fuel from a class or a profession, you must do missions in which you aquire fuel that will last you up 2 days real time.

A lot of folks aren't aware of the Core Systems forum tucked away down in the list of Professions, but we've been discussing the Space Expansion in some detail there for a while now.

Well XvT couldn't be hacked for online play. Yes you could mod the exe file, but if you tried to play with a modded file, the game recognized the modded exe and the game was unplayable. Hoepfully SOE could incorporate something like that. It was always funny when a newbie got spanked in XvT and called people cheaters. Since it was impossible. I got a called a cheat alot and I always thanked them for the compliment =).








first you do know that punkbuster is full of spyware right? second nothing is impossible. if someone was smart enough and wanted it enough they could hack something and cheat.



and last, once again sony manages to pull the wool over everyones eyes. cant you all see that this is going to cause even more heartache and problems then are currently in the game? bugs, imbalance, and other problems are still running rampant in the ground based game and you guys want an expansion?


not to mention the laughable teaser trailer out on file planet. not to mention that the frieghter shown in some of those screen shots looks way out of porportion to the x wings and ties in the pics. who cares if it is "twitchy" or if missions and battles can be done in space? lets have some real meat instead. lets have vehicles and ships that you can swap wimpy engines on for a modified set. how about a frieghter that you can walk around in and hear and feel the battle going on around you in? maybe run into the turret on the ship and start blasting tie fighters? or how about launch escape pods from or hide in the smuggling compartments while the star cruiser boards the frieghter.


from what i see, and what i hear from the devs i bet that none of the features all of us are dreaming of will be implemented.


who cares if there are new races? fix the broken ones first. who cares if there are new professions? fix the broken ones first.


PROVE YOU CAN DO SOMETHING RIGHT FIRST DEV'S! then we will be interested in an expansion after all the overdue problems are fixed. i am waiting till the issue that caused me to quit is resolved. then i will THINK about coming back.


and for those of you who are wondering what it was, storage is the problem. waisting my time trying to get and store, safely, what i need to do business is what broke the camels back.

So much for a Smuggler revamp, maybe they should just rename us, it would take less time and be easy to do.
"Useless" would be my first choice as a name suggestion.


of course at this point there is no reason to revamp anything. SOE should just shut the game off.

This is amazing and will bring this game out of all doubt.


One problem is Lag issues... I love twitch, but I hope you can figure out a way to atleast Reduce lag, so I dont get shot down while im in the middle of a lag P



I hope one of the new species is Gungan!


That would be sooo awsome.

There's plenty of ways to prevent cheating. If anything, they could steal the flying vehicle code from Planetside and apply it here.

No muss, no fuss... and as far as I know, it hasn't been hax0red yet.




What's really wrong with the game is the players


Oh, and can we get a moratorium on the word "whiner"? It's pointless and stupid to call other people whiners when you yourself are actually whining about them.

So they go out looking for cheats or maybe they're smart enough to make them, distribute them to their friends, their friends distribute them to their friends etc...

Anybody who watched the slow response to credit duping and other miscellaneous trash the initial design of the Player Economy knows just how serious this threat is.

nod... way too much time invested to switch my servers. But as I said, there was no way for me to 'know' this in the beginning. When I make a character, every server that comes up all has a distance of '3' and when I logged on for the first time, Kettemoor was 'recommended'. I figured that was based on my proximity to the servers, but that unfortunately is not true. They should make it much easier to find out what servers serve which coast ect ect..

i hope we can have passengers and walk around the inside of the ship and do repairs like they did in empire ...on the falcon and have someone jump in the side cockpit and fire guns whileyou pilot.....i hope its not just space battles like rouge leader....and stuff like that.......

Precisely. It woul be cool "for a while". Why spend lots of time developing something that's just going to make people angry after the first couple times.


Do the same people who want to walk up to their fighter in a hangar also demand that vehicles are only callable while in front of your house? Get to another planet or city and you're out of luck. Wouldn't want to call things from the datapad after all.


Sometimes realism and cool factor take a backseat to long term playability.

They should rename it to "Jump to Another MMO", because looking back at SWG's release days, and looking at how messed up SWG currently is, I seriously have doubts they'll be able to pull this off without 12 more "publishes". Publish, aka "doggie buiscits for the players starving for content".



- As I see it, Sony has until July 31st 2004 to pull content, balance and most importantly "fun" out of a hat and into the game for me. I guess I can list "buying a non-refundable year's subscription" down as one of the dumbest decisions made in my life. Congradulations SoE, you took 200 bucks from me. -

I have throttle, stick, and rudder peddles. I get called a cheater all the time in games requiring flight. I agree but with the way the people are today and the sofistication of the programmers out there, I'm not saying it can't be done. I'm just hoping they already work a way to detect or make cheating impossible.

Also most cheats now a day's don't mod anything in the EXE they only wedge themselves between the program and the server... In a sense taking the controls in like a virtual autopilot. Also things like say hidden units the server usually tells the client where they are so when they do become visible the client can draw them right away and not use more bandwidth to produce them. These cheats that are out there of course can be programmed to show you hidden units etc... Cheat makers have gotten very advanced Counter-strike is rampant with them. VALVE is just like SOE in a way you don't hear from them even after a lot of complaints etc..
