Understandable.Anyway, Jedi don't rule the ground, never have. A Fencer can own a Guardian on live easily enough, it's only getting worse after the patch. If you don't want Jedi to have powers in space, then say that without being stupid. Saying Jedi rule anything but Enraged Rancors is plain stupidity. Now then, the devs already said Jedi will be getting something special in space. You people always fire back with the 100% twitch arguement. Well, JTLS is not 100% twitch. This isn't Tribes or Counter Strike where everyone is equipped equally, it's still an RPG.Your twitch skills will be limited drastically by your ship and your profession. Someone higher in the pilot tree than you gets access to better shields, weapons, droids, and ships. You won't manuever as well in aY-Wing as someone in a TIE Advanced. So even if they aren't as good a pilot, they can compensate with technology and their ship. That's where the difference can come into play. And that's where a Jedi will most likely get their bonus.I predict Jedi will get modifiers to ship handling, speed, and acceleration in order to simulate their innate reflexes. I don't see them getting any bonuses to offense or defense. So while it can compliment their twitch skills, it won't make up for having none.
Yes they will probably add this at a later date.
I guess a Jedi needs to feel like they are using the force in flight for immersion reasons.
Im cool with this as long as the bonuses are only for use with a jedi starfighter.
The Jedi Starfighter however, should be no better or worse against a TIE defender or Rebel equivalent Uber ship regardless of the force.
Bottom line JTL should be as even a battle ground as possible.
EDIT: just seen TH's post; cool

Really? Seems like just for continuity sake, you ought to give Jedi some sort of defense bonus when piloting a ship... maybe even just when onboard a ship (YT1300).
I think the movies made it pretty clear that Jedi Pilots were much harder to hit than non-Jedi. Also, smugglers seemed to be able to sneak into battle without people noticing, so they got a surprise attack.
How about the Jedi show us how much better they are by getting their reticle over their target, and not by benefiting from some lame skill mods gained by killing thousands of rancors on the ground.
I can't wait to wax my first "uber" starfighter in my clunker. If it's a Jedi piloting said starfigher, even better.
/agree
First of all, I am willing to bet that if you are a skilled pilot in JTL you will not even WANT a Jedi-bonus. These things are just distractions in twitch games and many players will probably find they fly better without them.
Secondly, how on earth would you calibrate such a bonus? You can work Jedi-bonuses into a turn based game because you can control the actions and reactions of the other players. But you can’t do that in a twitch game. Just like a good pilot will be able to compensate when flying in an inferior ship, a good pilot will be able to compensate for Jedi bonuses as well.
I like the idea of two games, clearly divided. If you like turn based, you have the ground game, if you like twitch, there will be space. If you like both, there will be both. Let’s keep them separate and maintain a two game system.

Really? Seems like just for continuity sake, you ought have a Vader NPC turn all the Jedi into blue glowies. Maybe just those who have ever permitted another player or NPC to witness them using the force, a title, or a lightsaber.
I think the movies made it pretty clear that Jedi have been hunted to almost total extinction. In the game's time frame Ben had just lost to Vader, Luke was mearly force sensitive, and while Lea was FS she didn't know it. Also, you have Vader, the Emperor, and Yoda. That's about it. The rest were either dead or so well hidden that nobody anywhere knew they existed.
The devs have chosen not to stick with continuity in reguards to Jedi. That's why we have a small horde of them and they even have active Jedi councils being added in the form of enclaves. Please do not use continuity as justification for even more power, continuity does not apply o SWG Jedi.
3 words :
Jedi only starcraft.
The Jedi fighter ( Obi flew it to Camino in EP2) and Sith interceptor ( or whatever the ship Maul uses to land on Tat in EP1 was called) respectively.
If not at release, then not too long after I bet.
It's not "timeline" but it's "cannon". lol. Only here would that statement even aproach making sense.
no jedi skill mods!
i never doubted you devs, but its nice to see my beliefs confirmed

Since jedi are supposed to have great reflexes and able to see things before they happen, perhaps there should be a system in place that gives them a sort of "Jedi Sense." By putting a half a second delay or a full second delay on firing in the start of a fight (lasers need to charge or something),a jedi starpilot could get a warning of an incoming attack. With this a jedi could potentially save themsleves from a quickflame out by a volley of laserfire via an ambush or surprise attack. It may give a skilled Jedi pilot the moment they'd need to evade the attack or they could get caught unaware anyway. Having a system like this could sparea jedi from a quick flame out but wouldnt neccessarily be an advantage over a prolonged dogfight.

Well, to be truthful, that may well have just been a point of "main characters are harder to hit". After all, consider the great logical connundrum of Storm Troopers' "Accuracy".
In all, I wish they put the game's timeframe in the Republic Civil War instead. Lot more of the content would kinda be continuity appropiate :x.
