Well what was vader to do? He was in the trench with no where to turn to evade. Maybe he did do a last ditch evasive maneuver and thats why he managed to live and not blow up with the other Tie. If there was any error it was in the directing of the Movie and screenplay. Not the powers of the sith lord. LOL.
And I suppose if the scene was inkeeping with the powers of a Jedi/Sith we wouldnt have this game I think since the rebels would be toast.

my original post was just stating about possibly adding a trigger delay that allows jedi to be alerted to a surprise attack. Nothing else.

I'm all for Jedi not getting death penalties while in space. I see nothing wrong with them being able to enjoy the JtL. However, they should definitely not get any special powers. The game is supposed to be twitch based and it should be that way for everyone. If you haven't got the reflexes in real life to make you uber ..well.. you just won't be. Please stop pointing to examples of how "the force" is effective in piloting, because I can think of a number of times when it didn't help. Just to name two off the top of my head...
Vader gets tossed out of the trench when Han comes zooming in to save the day and let Luke take his shot at the Deathstar. Why didn't he see this coming?
Obi Won basically spends an entire scene dodging Jango and trying to stay alive, but never gets the upper hand. If he is so precognitive, why is he constantly on the defense instead of anticipating and getting in a better position?
To sum up: No penalties for Jedi in space ....but.... no special powers for them either.

Looks like you've spent quite a bit of time hologrinding yourself. You never got your Jedi slot, so now you're bitter. Understandable.
Anyway, Jedi don't rule the ground, never have. A Fencer can own a Guardian on live easily enough, it's only getting worse after the patch. If you don't want Jedi to have powers in space, then say that without being stupid. Saying Jedi rule anything but Enraged Rancors is plain stupidity.
Now then, the devs already said Jedi will be getting something special in space. You people always fire back with the 100% twitch arguement. Well, JTLS is not 100% twitch. This isn't Tribes or Counter Strike where everyone is equipped equally, it's still an RPG.
Your twitch skills will be limited drastically by your ship and your profession. Someone higher in the pilot tree than you gets access to better shields, weapons, droids, and ships. You won't manuever as well in aY-Wing as someone in a TIE Advanced. So even if they aren't as good a pilot, they can compensate with technology and their ship. That's where the difference can come into play. And that's where a Jedi will most likely get their bonus.
I predict Jedi will get modifiers to ship handling, speed, and acceleration in order to simulate their innate reflexes. I don't see them getting any bonuses to offense or defense. So while it can compliment their twitch skills, it won't make up for having none.

If you ever get a chance to read a New Jedi Order book you'll seewhat a Jedi pilot can really do. Unrestricted by movie effects and that what not.

Since JTLS is not an integration with the ground game what-so-ever (free skill points, nothing required on your character to be able to pilot) this arguement has no merit. IF they would have integrated the space game with the ground game, maybe.

Jedi will be the best in space also. Yes, its a twitch game, but the Devs can give them the best ships (jedi starfighter). You're kidding yourselves if you think the jedi wont dominate space also.

Since jedi are supposed to have great reflexes and able to see things before they happen, perhaps there should be a system in place that gives them a sort of "Jedi Sense." By putting a half a second delay or a full second delay on firing in the start of a fight (lasers need to charge or something),a jedi starpilot could get a warning of an incoming attack. With this a jedi could potentially save themsleves from a quickflame out by a volley of laserfire via an ambush or surprise attack. It may give a skilled Jedi pilot the moment they'd need to evade the attack or they could get caught unaware anyway. Having a system like this could sparea jedi from a quick flame out but wouldnt neccessarily be an advantage over a prolonged dogfight.
Other than that I dont know if Jedi should have anything else as Obiwan didnt really seem to have any additional powers in his encounter with Jango Fett in the asteroid field as seen in Ep II.

No "special" abilities will be added. Since it is going to be a twitchy action game, RPG-skill based enhancements won't come into play. There has been some discussion on what might be possible after the initial release of JTL, but anything like that is a long, long way off...

Thank god. I just hope you devs don't buckle under the pressure and give in to the Jedi community as you have done regarding other things. cough* rarity, *cough* permadeath
