To Mike,

Has nothing to do with who uses the tool. Has to do with the tool and how well it was made.

We had a Master armor repair with a crapy tool and lose more dur, then I did with no skill using a good tool.

It is all in the tool.

If it is so, I stand corrected. All I've seen in game, though, is what I said. I always used top quality (99% Experimental Quality) tools, and dusted a D18. Though it was a crappy D18, so perhaps quality of construction has influence? Dunno.

Is it really necessary to have a number of charges set on the Particle Beam? I believe it's hard enough and takes enough resources as is, not to mention the rarity of the gemstone required.. I don't really see that it needs to eventually, or rather, very quickly run out of charges and be unusable.. Perhaps it'd be better, if they just have to put a limitation like this, to have a certain number of shots over X amount of time.. Something besides charges would be nice..

I guess the same goes with the Rocket launcher, though charges would be more reasonable, the inability to reload it is pretty darn silly, to say the least.. And if no other weapons take any kind of ammunition, I don't see how it would be different. Just makes the particle beam and heavy rocket launcher that much less of a viable weapon, each. And already we have quite a few weapons that aren't worth while, to say the least.

I have 92.55% weapons repair tool and I have yet to destroy a weapon and decrease the durability by more than 50. The % is the percent chance of success. Success = repair with a sacrifice to max durability. The only artisan skills I have are surveying. Has everything to do with the tool and nothing with the skills of a toon. For those that have busted with high qual tool, it is just bad luck.

FYI I have limited Artisan skills, made my own weapon repair kit and used it 5 times succesfully (never "tanked" an item once) with fairly reasonable results. I unfortunately did not keep track of any item quality on anything I repaired.

K, I glanced through this thread and saw a lot of people saying taht if you don't have artisan skills don't try to repair oyur gun, that is incorrect. there is no mod it neh artisan skil ltree, or any other skill tree, that affects weapons repair. I (as a novice WS) repaired my laser carbine from 600/1000 to 950/950 but managed to fail on a CDEF gun using hte same repair kit. the only thing that matters itneh repair kit quality

I don't have any hard stats on this, just my own experience, but I have tried to repair 3 weapons and 3 armor components once with a 92% tool and once with a 98% tool. Every single freaking time the item crumbled to dust. Even if 1 succeeded, that would have given me a less than 20% success rate with an average 95% tool, so I think there must be some skill involved.

aight i am a n00b here. just started playing not too long ago but i have chosen to be a fencer. i am working on novice fencer now, but it seems to me that our weapons suck and do not do the amount of damage that we should for our level/profession.

when i was working on one handed 3 i picked up a curved sword stats= 65-152/2.6/27-52-35. why is it that i cannot find a sword now after having all my certifications that can actually be considered a DECENT upgrade?? everything i find is not even worth the money for the upgrade.

i don't know if its just me, but i would imagine that when we gained levels that we would have the ability to get better weapons. frankly this is very saddening. personally, i feel if soe isn't gonna give us increasingly better weapons, they should add the ability to duel weild WITHOUT lowering the current stats of the weapons we got.

do i have a valid arguement here or am i shooting in the dark?

Don't be a nay sayer, thereare better days coming in the future for we select few. But as it is we do have a few decent weapons, the curved sword is loved by many a fencer, if made by a good weapons smith it can hold up ok. The stun baton are invaluable when fighting high armored or kinetic ressistent ceatures. And our Gaffi stick can deal out quite a punch with it's high end max and minimum damage, and different from the rest actually have a low mind cost for specials but it has the highest speed, but you can either have it sliced for speed, or wait patiently till you get better weapon speed. I have also heard many fencers speak lovingly about our vibro blade with a powerup, and due to its armor piercing abilities it can dish out better then first percieved, but I have never tried it and thus don't wish to put my name to the test.

Well hope this helps a bit

At the moment I'm still using my 2 handed curved sword (working on novice), is it worth bothering with any of the intermediate weapons (cleaver/vibro-axe) or just keep going and wait for the power hammer ?
