The game is set to the lowest denominator.
Here is a good example,
You go to a party, they are serving Coors light and New Castle. The hosts want everyone to be equally buzzed. Coors light for the light weights and New Castlefor the Heavy weights.
But in order to accomplish that they have to water down the New Castle so the Heavy weights don't get a better buzz. Because if they did all the light weights will feel left out and leave the party.
SOE will cater to all the laggers. (they should put it in the middle imo). only fair. But then again the gap between dial up and broadband is large. not so much on the hardware end though.
Want a good example of how a mmorpg should flow, try COH. Just to get and idea.
Too bad COH is too shallow.
