In reference to the Damage answer, how do you tell if a pet has "specials"?

Well, I have novice ranger with tracking3 (adds skill to creature knowledge).

I'm not sure how much creature knowledge you need to see special attacks when you examine a creature.

otherwise, check with other creature handlers.

Is master medic mandatory for Doctor or combat doc?

I will be mostly soloing and going for TKS/doc or combat doc. Which should I do, doctor or combat medic?

Do I need to master doctor or combat medic to enjoy benefits as a soloist fighting pve?

If I don't need master, which columns should I fill?

in solo PvE, as a TKA, I would think Doc would give you more usable skills in the wound healing and stat buffing.

CM is more geared towards PvP and group play

Master Medic is a step-stone for both the Combat Medic and Doctor professions, you have to reach it to go to one of those other two.

If you prefer to solo I would say go with Doctor for the following reasons : 1)TKA has their own attacks you dont need another attack method (poisons). 2) Combat Medic cannot buff. 3) Combat medic is more group oriented (ranged heals, group heals).

Doctor can buff and canheal bigger wounds than a combat medic can.

If you are going Doc/TKA, then I would also recommend these stat changes :

1) Max your mind/focus/regen stats. Lower the others as much as you need to do this.

2) Once you get to Advanced Doc Wound Treatment, lower strength/stamina/constitution/quickness to their LOWEST possible levels and advance your Health and Action to be equalized at the most you can put into them while still keeping ALL the mind stats maxed for your species.

The reasons for that are this : you can buff ALL of your stats (except blue bars) up to 2900+. Buffs will range from 700 to 2900+ depending on how good your buff pack is and how lucky you are.

This will negate the need to have ANYTHING extra into the regen/coststats. At that level of buffage, your special moves will cost so little they will not be noticed, and you regen so fast that even the small amount they DO cost will be made back almost instantly.

TKA's get an skill called meditate that helps there, but nothing helps like full doctor buffs. Keep in mind that the lower you are on the doctor tree, the lower your buffs will be (the amount buffed is keyed off the Wound Treatment skill).

You do not have to master either of these professions to be effective PVE, but if you want to buff yourself (or others) you will need Advanced Wound Treatment from the Doctor line. And unless you want to purchase all of your medicines, you will need Doctor Crafting skills. I recommend mastering that tree if you want to make your own meds because you get all 10 experiment points at master level. Note you do NOT have to master doctor to get 10 experiment points, only master the crafting tree.

I solo most of the time and am a master Doctor and working on rifleman. I almost went TKA/Doc but I hated to take a vibroknuckler to a blaster fight. I have grouped and met others doing this though and they are very powerful PVE and PVP.

Also something to keep in mind, is that Doctor and especially Combat medic, are really just support classes. If you are just trying to make a character that can solo, you only really need to take novice medic, get your Pharm up to III and as much FirstAid as you can.

This will allow you to heal yourself for ALOT of damage, somewhere in the area of 400-800 depending on what type of Stim C's you purchase.

The only draw back is, you cant make your own stims and you wont be AS powerful as a doctor when it comes to healing (Though you will still be plenty powerfull as a soloer). If you goal is to be able to solo, dont worry about Doctor or CM. But it is a whole other matter if you WANT to be a doctor or CM, then I would say Dr, for the same reasons that people have already stated.

Sorry if these questions have been answered but I have only been playing the game a few days and I am still learning.

I have looked at many posts and seen that VK's are mentioned a lot for Brawlers, but I have never seen them, Is it something you find when you kill something or can they be made? From reading the posts I am assuming that only a Novice TKA can use them (please correct me if I am wrong).

Also I have seen a few posts about playing AFK. I am (again) assuming this is Away From Keyboard, but what does this do? How do you benefit from this.

I am sure that I will think of more questions and I appreciate your patience with my newbie questions.

Thanks

No, I think there after something more than that, sir. I don't know what it is, but they've brought a flag

They are player made -- talk to a weaponsmith

While you don't get certified for them, until you hit Novice TKA, they are still usable before then. When you equip them you will get a message that saysyou are not qualified to use them, and there will be a large reduction in damage output. While it is true that the damage will be reduced, it is also true that if you get a fast pair, you will still get the advantage of hitting faster. So even with the VKs equiped your damage per hit will be right about where it was without them, but you will be hitting faster, so your overall damage output will go up.

I just got novice entertainer about 20 mins ago and went to the closest cantina to try it out. How can you tell what someone's BF is? I tried to check by using /diag, but said I couldn't do that while playing...

Any help would be appreciated...hopefully the title didn't scare people away lol.

Only 2 ways to find out.

1. Ask them.

2. Get medic skills.

Medics can use /diag. Entertainers can't. Even if you have it, you can't use it while dancing/playing (i.e. "skill animating").

To put that in simpler terms, assuming you have novice medic already...

You have to stop performing to use /diag on someone. If you just want to know when they are done being healed, you will know when there is nobody with any BF or mind wounds left when you stop getting healing xp.
