Hello, I'm a ranger planning on buying a droid with the new trapping module, and since this will be my first droid purchase, I've got a couple of questions.
- Do I have to specify what colors I want the droid when I order it, or are there droid customization kits? Both, actually. As of this patch DEs can customize droid deeds to the colors you want. This will last through the first 20 "pulls". After that, you can get a droid customization kit from you friendly neighborhood DE and keep him in fashion!
- Can I name my droid, or does the DE have to do that? You can do it yourself. Just like naming a pet. 4 commands with the same 1st word should do it.
- (I think I know the answer to this one) Do the droid personality chips work in R2 units and do they take a module slot? Sad to say, not anymore. They did for a while, butI think it was so buggy the devs just gave up on it. From what I've heard, there still exist pre-patch astromechs that will talk from time to time, but they are more rare than a rich DE!!!
Thank you in advance for answering my questions.
Anytime. That's one of the reasons we're here. (The other being to make fun of TK421 when he's having a bad hair day)

there isnt an answer for this question. some dna when used creates invalid pets. there is no way to know if it is buggy untill you use it. the only good thing about it is that when you identify a particular dna as buggy, all dna from the same animal should be considered as such. Mostly kamuriths.

is it estimable, kevm, that all the DNA from a specific animal will have the same protections/resits? I mean, if the problem is created by the cl calcs not knowing how to deal with resists, and the same set of resists show up each time, wouldnt the source creature be the problem?

I don't post much but I read a lot from these forums since becoming a Master BE. One question that I keep coming back to is, "What is buggy DNA"? I go out, I sample, I create and experiment. How is one to know if we have "buggy" DNA samples? I would think that if we sample something and the game gives us DNA for it, we should be able to manipulate it and create great things with it. Or, am I just missing something?
Thanks in advance,

no. you said it yourself and then contradicted yourself.
the problem is created by the cl calcs not knowing how to deal with resists
The fact that the problem is limited to certain creatures doesn't make the DNA bugged. its the CL calculation equation. Its the same reason why we can have CL 10 pets with 60% kinetic resists as long as the remaining resists are vulnerable. If it was limited to 'bugged' DNA from certain creatures we would never have CL 10's like I just described if they were made from 'unbugged' DNA (which those are).
Its the CL calulation that's bugged.

Hey, I unlocked a few weeks ago now, I've been rather slack with it and have been returning my main character to my original template and just started playing more with my jedi and I've come across a few things that I need some recommendations from others.
Firstly, I had a few crystals from before I unlocked and I managed to loot a real hum-dinger today (147dmg, .2 spd, 1 wound, -9 force, which Im told is pretty reasonable for a crystal). Anyway, is it worth me making a 2nd, 3rd etc gen saber the moment I qualify for them? Or wait until a saber starts to wear out and then upgrade it to the next, wait until that nears its wear out and then upgrade etc?
I also read sabers, pearls and crystals will be broken whenever they push through the revamp, so is it worth me upgrading the saber now and have a dud when this happens? (if it lasts that long)
Secondly, I was recently told that Dark Jedi can track/hunt light jedi. Now wether theres any truth to this or it was made up to try and get me to crawl back to my main character to never load my Force slot again, Im not sure. But if its true, how do they track? Is it like bh that can scan every planet in the galaxy or just local scans like a ranger?
Best way to avoid such things is to know as much about them I guess
And lastly, What sort of things generate visibility (I know its not working/disabled atm), but I've never had a fs character outside of this 'jedi party time' period. So rather than get a rude suprise when they do enable it, what sort of things are a no-no (besides the obvious running through theed and slapping an imperial with the hot end of a lame practice saber). Can I hunt with other jedi/normal player? Does just drawing my saber get me visibility? or does someone actually have to see me using it? That sort of thing.
Thanks in advance

First question - what's a psg?
Second question - is the disk a treasure map? Treasure maps cannot be deleted or dropped.

1) What is the average price for Composite with stats along these lines 80% kinetic 60 to 67% electricity, and the four or five other stats don't remember them off hand ranged from 40 to 49%? Now I normally sell my lesser non-advanced armors for 4cpu but to sell the advanced at the same price is way undercutting.
2) If I use cloth (reinforced Fiberplast panels or synthic cloths) that have been enhanced with BE components will the BE enhancements carry though to the armor or do BE enhancements only effect clothing?

okay first off...
1) Is there still perma-death and if so how does it work.
2) when it says u ahve to unlock 24 boxes to get jedi padawan does that mean getting all the XP for those boxes too and Learning each box or just unlocking them from the quests in the villiage.

1) Permadeath does not exist to my knowlege...you lose like 300k exp per death (50k upon death, 250k when cloning)
2) You need 6 full trees, yes 6 full trees...yes that's 1.2 million force experience per one - you can do the math to find out how many professions you need to grind again to get it.
