I am curious, what is an EPOS system?

I went around all the shops in my town today. It seems none of the major UK chains (GAME, Gamestation, etc), or for that matter, the indieshave JtL listed for this week, although several websites, including GAME have it listed for the 29th. Games are released on fridays in this the UK because thats when the main chains EPOS systems update to ALLOW them to sell them, they usually get the stock delivered on tuesdays or thursdays. IF the game is delivered this week its not on any of the lists, Ive been told its possible it might turn up in a shipment tomorrow, and if it does, ill get a phonecall.
If stock does appear some time this week, and you are looking for somewhere to buy it as soon as the servers go live, good luck. Your best bet are either the indie shops who will sell it as soon as they get it in stock, or a Dixons group store (Dixons, PC world), they wont put it up on the shelf till friday, but their salles system lets them sell it before the friday, so ask them.

The release date is the 26th...the sales date is the 27th.
Meaning Pre-Order companies can send the game to you on the 26th. It will be avalible for purchase onf Wednesday the 27th. If you preordered at the counter, I don't think you can actually pick up the game until wednesday. But I don't know, I always order online and have it mailed to me.
THATS WRONG ITS 27TH NOT 26TH
Did you even read what he said...RELEASE date 26th, SALES date 27th...Read stuff before you start shouting your mouth off.
Anyhoo, i just checked my amazon.co.uk order sheet and it now states the dispatch date as 4th November...i have no idea whats going on with the date but im goin to go to Gamestation on Friday and if they have a copy then ill just buy it there.

Well he quoted me, so I suppose that the extra 4 and a half lines of text was just to much to read.

Electronic Point Of Sale
Hooks the cash register into stock control, finance, etc systems.
And back to the point of UK release date, my experience is that the release date has slipped back to 5th of November for online retailers - spoke to Play 20 minutes ago who informed me that they had been instructed to put it back to that day by their suppliers. Local game shops are reporting 29th as the UK release date but currently have no stock to put on shelves on Friday or a delivery date for it............................
A phrase based on organising a drinking session in a brewery springs to mind at this point

I don't see the point of getting it on the 26th when the main page clearly states that it dosen't go live until the 27th.
I sure hope all you pre-order guys don't install it today.

Are station.sony.com actually remembering that there ARE quite a damm few of Europe players on SWG...
think the LEAST they could do is put a U.K-Europe date in brackets next to the U.S Date

They should delay the launch, as it is giving people an unfair 10 day advantage - (they should at least let us have 10 days free then, just because we cannot get it - not for want of trying)
None of the listed shops on lucasarts (including themselves) will ship to the UK, except gamestop who want $34 just for the shipping
An official word on this would be nice, when is it going to ship in the UK.

An HMV store told me yesterday that they have the release down as 29th, and that he would keep his fingers crossed. He must be a player as well lol
