AsEpisodes 1 & 2 were rather uneventful, i'm holding out for Episode 3: Revenge of the "Dear, SOE" Letter!

whomever it may concern,
It seems like you are having issues with patching/upgrading the test center servers. I don't think any of the patches you have ever done were successful (in regards to things that needed to be addressed and actually having the server up) sure, after a few days of stumbling around using the "trial and error" method of testing you guys finally get it..kinda. So, this is my offer to you. I will be more than happy to be on your payroll to help test these things out, and unlike your developers (it seems) I actually play the game. There have been issues since launch that have still not been addressed and countless times something was said to be fixed, and was not. Are you guys just changing some code and hoping for the best? Look, I'm not going to pretend im some super programmer, hell I barely know basic, but it sure seems to me that this game has been a whole bunch of whacky experiments. Do you guys lack the manpower to do the job properly? Are there all kinds of office politics that prevent people from doing a decent job? I just don't understand how you could keep the same staff employed with results like this.
Anyway, I hardly play on live anymore , I got my jedi and the game just seemed to bore me(nothing to play for), I got on TC2 (with tons of problems, to be expected) and played for a while and everytime some new tweek or some item was supposed to go in, it resulted in a day or 2 of not being able to play at all. Please don't get me wrong..the game has tons of potential, but it just seems pointless now.
Help me TC2, you're my only hope..........
anyway, this is not a "im leaving thread" but something has to be done about your staff. Crack the whip, fire someone, hire new blood (someone qualified) get a motivational speaker!!heck, This just seems like the way things in America are going, nobody cares what kind of job they do, as long as it gets done with the least amount of effort and their boss isn't on their butt. Doensn't anyone care about the work they do anymore?
ok, /rant off
i'll sink back into the shadows now... bye kids

I confess, I expected more as well. At least some sarcasm or something to elicit a giggle.

Dear SOE,
I know in the past i have complained about a lot of stuff, and this was my firsrt MMORPG so i might not have had complete knowledge of what i might have said, but after taking a 3 month break from the game, only to return due to JTL's release i find JTL to be pleasing at best. I have payed you people since release (minus my free month) and i've been pleased, recently i had quit because of your lack of keeping promises. Combat revamp is well past due, but i commend you for starting it now. Even though i think JTL should have been kept back until the ground game was fixed to a point of satisfying more then 50% of the player base, i still enjoy JTL to an exent, however there are some things i think should have been weeded out long before this hit hte market, and these i will state.
Issues I have major problems with:
1) The tier 2 AI has gotten on my nerves, they tend to fly giant ovals to aviod you, putting me into a 3 minute long circle fest just to get 400 XP also tending to drag me away from the mission i'm doing, though that seems real a random group of fighters, and esspecially a lone pilot woudl not fly in one gaint oval to try to win. I enjoy it when an AI challenges me to use my best tactics to win, not just hope that i can hit him with each shot fired while flying in an oval keeping my ridicule on the green target.
2) My shots are missing in unbeleivble ways, more then 30% of my shots accually go through my enemy, and when i'm shooting his engines out i can see my shots come out the front of his ship. Also my main gun, (the one you press key # 1 to fire) almost never hits, most of the time goes through the enemy. I understand it going to the side of him when i'm in my dunelizard but other then that.
3) Random enemy spawns seriously effecting missions. Most of my protect this ship, i end up losing because some random group of enemies that drop on top of me shoot me while i'm flying my gaint oval killing tier 2 for the mission. I think random enemy spawns should either be completly rare, put in an area where the missions will never bring you near, or just not put out there at all. Already i tend to not be able to compeltly obliterate the entire attacking force in these missions have having an extra 3 attack you really makes it a lot harder, and this happens to me to often to be brushed off.
4) Random spawns pursue way to long, if you go near a pirate in a combat ship near a nebula they are going to chase you away form the nebula, but only the 1000 miles (i assume they are miles because having them be meters does't make sense in the game) and not forever. I've died at least 3 times trying to out run ships that pursued me from their nebula well over 3000 miles.
5)Nebula Effecting my control. I find everytime i chase a tier 2 in a big oval, they spend a lot of time going by the nebula, not in it but enough to make my game give me some bad lag, i've brough nebula desity down to nothing, but i feel that if you allowed us to turn visuals off, and just have a indicator that tells us if the enemy, or we are accually in the nebula this would help with how smootly the play would run.
6) Redoing missions. Redoing missoins is getting to me, i really hate investing an hour into a mission killing over and over and having to do it all agian, and again, and again, it annoyes me. I prepose that when you die while doing a mission that you be set back 2 waypoints if its a destroy mission, 1 way point if its a protect mission, and the others, well i have yet to try them. Also i think that when you land on the ground your missions should not in anyway be interupted. Sometimes things ground wise come up, and you need to land and having ot redo an hour of missions work isn't really fair for that, same with a real life issue.
Those are the6 i could think of right now, as i see more i'll add them to this post, or i'll jsut repost another response. Thank you for all your hard work on the game. I find the graphics great, and forcing people to group to master pilot i am very pleased about becausei feel if a game is going to be MMORPG then there had better be a reason to group, previously i felt that soloing had taken the game down hill, and if i'd wanted not to play with others i would have definatly gone and played KOTOR for a 50 down then this for 50 down and 15 more a month.
Thank you for reading this as you have, and if you correct these problems thank you.
A concerned pilot and player,
Mr. 1111 freelance pilot.

Ummm, don't follow thorugh in a large oval yourself? Reducing your speed, flrying in the opposite direction, or flying away a few hundred meters and doing a z-axis uturn yourself also works.
The green target crosshair is there to help. its not exact, but if you keep your aiming crosshair centered in the green crosshair, you'll get very good accuracy. sometimes you have to lead the crosshair a bit too, cause of the everchanging speed and distance between the two ships.
You just don't have good piloting skills. I was able to COMPLETE my duty mission on every tier i've done so far (novice, 1, and 2). I easily took on 7 or 8 enemy fighters at the same time. just requires you to think in 3D and to be creative in your flight paths. The very last portion of the duty mission is taking on 5 enemy ships that are 1 tier greater than you. trust me, thjey pack a mean punch, but again, if you have adequate skills, you can do it.
Get a better engine. My engine does 522 max, and i've never had a problem with pursuers.
Thats most likely a performance issue with your computer. Video card and RAM are huge factors. remember, 512MB of ram is the minimum to play JTL. and get at least a 128MB up to date video card.
It should NOT take an hour to do a 1/1/1/1 mission. 10 mins max. you either have way underpowered components for your ship, or just don't have a thing for piloting
Those are the6 i could think of right now, as i see more i'll add them to this post, or i'll jsut repost another response. Thank you for all your hard work on the game. Sounds to me like First Person Shooters might not be your strongpoint. Being a successful pilot requires a certain mentality. Some people are great at these kinds of games. others aren't. I know people who have tried and tried again at FPS games, even have been trained by experts, and still can't get the hang of it.

I knew someone woudl eventually go through and tell me i'm just bad at the game, and i don't find myself to be, i'm just commenting on what seems like something that should not be a problem. Btw my engine to does 517 but they still go a lot faster then almsot all the time, i do lead my crosshairs to try and hit and i still miss, i make differnt flight paths ect ect ect. Oh and i'm very very good at FPS i don't think thats much of hte problem.
You assumed you knew my stratagies for piloting, and no offense ment man, but a study shows that assuming is unhealthy.

Do you play with a stick?
It helps tremendously in my opinion to play with a joystick.
I have the logiteck 3d pro extreme, as it was recommanded by a lot of player.
Works like a charm, nothing to be configured, everything from thrutle to target selection is already configured.

I have sent an e-mail to Bruce Economy of e-mail, regarding Jedi in Ahazi killing MBHs in a line, and logging on/off to exploit kill timer and lists, below is the answer I got from him :
Hello,
Thank you for your email. We are aware of what methods are being used and at
this time, they are not considered exploits. I understand that this is
frustrating to many, however, no action is being taken against anyone doing this
at this time.
Safe hunting.

I also read on Stratics chat that SOE is NOT thinking about any changes to FRS system, meaning that, * ALL AND EVERY JEDI can freely exploit, *cheese*, whatever the system is, and get Jedi Masters and WE DO NOT CARE *
So, all EXPLOITERS are going to have 60% saber block after CU, while excellent pvpers and Jedi like me are going to have 25% block because I am Rank II. It doesn't matter if they die and lose FRS, because they can get it back in 1 session of killing MBHs.
SOE is officially rewarding ecploiters in this game. It is not a big problem as of now, but after CU, it will be the BIGGEST problem for a Jedi with the mods.
SOE should get his head out of its **edit** and REMOVE FRS from the game untill they find a non-exploitable system.
OR, double slicing is not an exploit, too. Because it is IN GAME, duping credits is not an exploit, too, because IT CAN BE DONE. Just like killing 22 MBHs and logging off to reset timers. IT CAN BE DONE.
I don't care about your CU, you should fix your broken game, like FRS, like BUGGED TURRETS that can shoot for 14 times per second SINCE launch.

They dont have a clue how to fix it I think so they have taken to say its not a exploit.
