Thread: Dear SOE

Yeah, I think it is a lot less progress oriented than other games, the only thing you really need in this game to be "uber" is money. Money to buy armor, weapons, and buffs.
There is no difference between someone who has been playing for 1 year or 3 months, if the 3 month person has money they will be equal, once you have mastered a profession. Ihave played EQ and UO andSWG is quite a change. I'm notquitesure if it is better or not yet.
let us know when you decide

yeah it took me a while to get taht one too... pesky college!
The weakness in the player content is there isn't much from it. What reward do you get for destroying/building faction bases, or killing other players? Faction points, which are well, obtainable in other ways just as well, and frankly, like money become somewhat useless.
The community in SWG is a smaller bunch, there's better overall communication but there's less common good working towards things, or people independently working towards things and more working against or around each other, but with no real goal. If only one krayt dragon spawned, once a week, then there would be some consequence to the fighting, but as it is, it is fighting for the sake of fighting, because they'll spawn anyway. The community in EQ esspecially is much hardier than it is here, you've been up till 7 am with people having been through some hellish raid, so the commitment to each other is much deeper, which is also the weakness. It attracts more people, but a different lot than SWG. SWG is more for casual people, with less hardened relationships. You have in EQ people who eat sleep breathe the game, you can't really do that nearly as much in SWG because there isn't nearly as much to do. Ohh look I uh killed somebody, he cloned and now I can... uh do a mission and get the same faction points? There's nothing unique that you have to work towards as a team.
Overal SWG has a better broad 'community' because sony runs decent enough boards, but the interpersonal relations and team in EQ is much deeper, as is the commitment and time invested of course.
As for why I play, well I made my master bio eng bit, I log in periodically to make stuff as my friends need it (start factory runs), otherwise I don't really, there's nothing to do. My time in SWG is more hoping they'll add stuff and fix stuff so I can spend time and get into it then actually being in it.
sirsri, why did you find it appropriate to b1tch on this post?
seriously, do you enjoy pissing in birthday cakes or something? do you run into hospitals and unplug people's IV bags just for the hell of it?
I don't mind you complaining and whining like a hypocrite kid orsomething - seeing as you still post - but please make another thread to do that, k?
now go find some balloons to pop.
