When it settles down, basic ships will probably be 20-30k, more advanced fighters will be upwards of 100-150k, and multiperson ships like the Millenium Falcon, and the Slave I (if it's in) will be 2 or 3 mil.
Just my guess.
I would NEVER pay over 1 mil for a ship of any type.
not even a death star? if it was available that is
Definately not. Pay 2mil for a deathstar and have some torpedo-happy x-wing pilot blow it up? no thanks. *wink*

I want the more expensive ships to be about a mil or two. That's real starwars hanging in a cantina bragging about how old and expensive your ship is and how many adventures it has been throug.
So you want to hang out ina cantina and brag about how many devalued credits you put up to buy a ship? People like you don't understand that currency in any form (online or real life)is supposed to mean something. If it didn't you wouldn't have to worry about how to get your goods. You'd just get your goods for free if that was the case.
I'm going with the assumption that the actual ship itself is going to be a chasis or "shell" type thing that can accept certain parts to be put in it.
So a YT-1300's resources probably won't be that big of a deal. I think that the Developers already realize and have an idea about how the game's economy works. Afterall, they seem to be decently quick on dupes and massive inflation and tend to nuke the masses of people involved directly or indirectly out of the game. So I doubt they'll implement such a system where you have to be within the wealthiest 10% of the game to afford something you want. Especially something as big and expansive as this.
However, as other people have said, I believe that ship parts and subsystems will be the real kicker. They will be the parts effecting how fast you fly, how hard you turn, how good your shields are, and how good your ship is overall outside of your actuall piloting skill. So they'll probably take the rarest and most specific resources and hence the most expensive.
And let's not forget about Droids. I think all three pilot classes have a line dedicated to droid programs. I don't even want to think about that.

at the end of the day i reckon the devs will increase the prices you get for ship missions etc perhaps so that ships are affordable
I hope they don't. They already see how bad things have gotten in the ground game with mission payouts...nevermind. I'm sure the developers will continue to leave the economy as it is or fubar it up some more.
but do you pay 1 mill for some armor set or some uber weapons ( expect for rare loot)

There will also be many factors that can't really be looked at.. Supply and demand. There will be a lot of supply at first, since people will be grinding out shipwright. But the demand will also be high, since more people will just want to get their ship together, so to speak, and get into space.
I expect prices will start high, take a dive, then stabalize.
