I bought mine from EBgames.com on the 21st and they said mine wasn't bought at a time where I could use the beta disk but they would still send me one. They also went on to say that they were aquiringmore. I have had problems with Gamestop.com in the past so I never buy from them ever. Sorry to hear about your problem.

This whole thing is so cut and dry its sad..
While supplies last applies here, I am sure no one has ever heard of that.
Or how about, This is a preorder BONUS, which means the earlier to order it the better chance you have since its first come first serve.
This was an offer for a BETA DISC. That means the beta period takes place between Oct 8- Oct 22nd I believe. So if you ordered the game on Oct 20th, which means they dont even look at the order till Oct 21st, WHy would they bother to send you a disc that expires on Oct 22nd wether it had something extra on it or not.
There are so many wrong things with this posters logic I would say lower your head in shame. Yes I am sure you want the speeder like everyone else does, but I would say the fault is on you for ordering so late. I ordered my game like 4-6 months ago. I have had NOTHING BUT KILLER SERVICE from both EBGAMES and GAMESTOP.. They try there very best to get you your order with great service. This is if you PREORDER the item in a timely manner.
I am ashamed of you for this posting because all it shows is ME ME ME, and it should show ME ME ME not following directions and being a late shopper!

Just want to say thanks to Lord Starwolf for posting his resolution informationand thanks to SOE for understanding the meaning of customer service. After contacting SOE using Lord Starwolf's contact infomation and speaking to an SOE rep my problem has been resolved to my satisfaction.
To all you punks with your "you are SOL" or "read the fine print..." statements, you problably have a good idea of what you can do with yourself in my opinion....

Kenzo, are you really that much of a moron? This has zero to do with gamestop. They sold you exactly what they advertised on THEIR site. As pointed out, It was SOE 'misrepresentation' of the deal by letting that outdated link remain advertising the flash speeder as a bonus.
So you see, i would hope, that SOE contributed to this situation. Now it's nice they took care of it and got you a flash speeder to your satisfaction, yet you are still irrationally upset and vindictive against Gamestop who did nothing but give you what you ordered.
Please explain.

No need to mince words, you can defend corporation business tactics all you want, but it all comes down to the fine print, its called getting mislead and screwed for the almighty buck.
They know what you want and why your are preordeing, come on man. They even stated when I talked with them that
they stopped giving way the Beta CD after October 10th which wasnt stated on there website nor SOE.
I got my key cause I bitched and complained, but it didnt have to come to that if they would state it in
BOLD PRINT
I ordered mine October 12th and got it without a Beta Key. I will never PRE-ORDER anything online again, its all Horse *$)# Anyways.
I will just go to Best Buy or COMP Usa from now on and if there is a Special Promotion only thru EBGames and Gamestop, Oh yeah
I will pre-order the game from their local stores, but if I dont get what I was entitled to, I will just ask for a refund and buy the game elsewhere.
But will never order anything online again when it comes to buying a game.

Funny I didn't have any trouble with GameStop myself. I was already in beta to begin with & went down to their store & prepaid for my copy of JTL RIGHT IN STORE, got the bonus beta cd with the key. All of this done on Oct 17th, after they supposedly stopped handing out the keys. Musta of been lucky I guess. LOL But glad to hear you got your issue taken care off Kenzo, next time get a clue & order early. And yes the site did say "Limited Quantities" so that should have told you something that maybe you might want to call first to see what the deal was BEFORE you ordered. You have no one to blame, other than SOE for leaving the link up & yourself.
Have a nice day.

Digboi, maybe these concepts are too complex for you to grasp....
Gamestop.com did not handle the situation in any way resembling good customer service. They failed to address an issue that they obviously knew about by removing all references to the flash speeder (before the release of the game 10/20/04, which would still qualify as a "pre-order"). They continued to take advantage of this questionableissue by selling the JTL expansion without notifying each customer prior to their purchase that their offer had expired. When confronted with customers trying to resolve their complaints, Gamestop.com took no responsibilty for anything and blew each customer off with weak excuses and by blaming other parties.
I guess I need to spell it out for you in an easily understandable statement:
This entire thread is not about a Flash Speeder, it is about a company that does not care about it's customers. It is about a company that relies on false information and uses this false information to take advantage of people that expect to be treated fairly. It is about a company that would rather let you buy a product from them under false pretenses than inform you of all the facts or questions surrounding this product. If this is company that you feel is worthy of your business then by all means use them, because I won't.
BTW, please post where you work, because since you appear to think that all of these business practices displayed by Gamestop.com are ok with you then I would rather not patronize your place of employment knowing that you approve ofthis deplorable behavior.
Since I have resloved my situation to my satisfaction I will no longer post in this thread...but I saw a quote in someone else's signature that applies to the tone of your posts in this thread "do not argue with idiots, they will bring you down to their level and beat you with experience."
On that note, let me bow out before I get beaten
I almost forgot....Have a nice day
**Thread has been updated....Gamestop stepped up and did the right thing by apologizing and giving me the speeder. I feel that I at least owe it to them to retract my prior statements based on their lack of action at the time. I am pleased with the way they salvaged the situation.

The while supplies last will cover them legally, you would not be able to do anything to them. If you preofered too late that is no their responsiblity. The same goes for like preorder bonus in stores and such, they may advertise them but they are not legeally obligated to give you one if they run out. So you take the risk of not ordering soon.

If it was that important to you, you should have pre-ordered earlier and not waited until the last minute. "While supplies last". "Limited time only". Don't those mean anything to you? The devs repeatedly stated that preordering from EBGames.com or Gamestop.com was the only way to get the flashspeeder and that it was a limited offer.

Well I pre-ordered from EBGames.com back in September. Still didn't get my bonus CD. I called about it and the CSR read some canned statement about me getting an email with the CD Key to enable the speeder. We shall see.

I pre-ordered JTL from Gamestop.com on October 20, 2004 directly from the "PreOrder Bonus Offer" link on the main page of these boards. When my copy arrived on October 27, 2004 (with next day delivery for $10 more) it did not have any Pre-order bonus CD Key. I promptly calledGamestop .com's customer service line where I was told that they (Gamestop.com) had a deadline of October 14, 2004 for giving out CD keys.
Nowhere did they inform you that after a certain arbitrary date you would not receive a CD key even though I had still ordered the game more than a week before release. They still continued to use the direct link from the actual "Pre-order CD key offer" on the SOE website and still called their product a "Pre-order." Basically,Gamestop.com told me that it wasn't their problem that SOE had the Gamestop.comcompany link in their offer and they were not going to honorthe pre-order bonus offer.
**This is a warning to all people that consider using Gamestop.com to order anything in the future. They engage in fraudulent business practices and they misrepresent what they market to their customers.
I feel cheated by what they have done and I will never do business with them again. I ordered one thing and got something completely different and I paid an additional $10 for nothing. I could have picked up a retail copy (what I received anyway) on my way home and saved $10.
I would like to thank Gamestop.com for ruining the first day of my JTL experience by not following through with what they promised to people that pre-ordered JTL from them.
Gamestop.com is a fraud - Do Not Use Them
YOU ARE PARANOID, GET OVER IT!
