First off, Im not flaming anyone here or even remotely attempting to flame anyone. Just so sick of seeing posts like this when there is fine print to be read. I know it sucks & it's ashame that he didn't get his flash speeder. But as I put in my previous post, check with the local GameStop store or EB game store & see if they have extra copies of the beta cd.

Second off "while supplies last" & "limited time" pretty much the same meaning in my book. Means order early in either case.

Yeah, that's all fine and dandy but...

It is neither EB or Gamestop's fault in this case. It's all SOE!!

SOE controls the keys, advertising and promos guys, they didn't send enough and the stores did get enough.

What is super annoying is on Oct 22 i recieved in my email the SWG Newsletter #12 where it says...

Pre-Order Star Wars Galaxies: Jump To Lightspeed through Gamestop, Electronics Boutique or their online stores and receive guaranteed priority access into the Beta program, plus an in-game gift, the Naboo Flash Speeder vehicle. Be the first among your friends to earn bragging rights as one of the few to experience space combat in the Star Wars universe! But you need to hurry as quantities are limited! May the Force be with you!

This leads me to believe that SOE either A. knew there weren't enough keys to go around... or B. they just didn't give a rats ass and just cared about the sales.

Most likely it is both, knowing what i know about big business these days.

Suffice it to say, I will never pre-order anything from SOE again since they completely lied to me to get me to pre-order at the last minute.

First off.. please shut up.

There, now that's better.

ahem... now plaintiff... when you ordered from gamestop's website.. did it include anything ON THEIR SITE to lead you to believe you were getting the pre-order bonus? They had removed all mention of that days prior doncha know?

How can they defraud you if they never said you'd be getting it in the first place?

Your issue is that you didn't read what you were buying which was merely JtL... not the pre-order bonus.

Your real issue, if you have any, is with SOE who really had the link up longer than they should have, but again, it's merely a link... I don't know about you, but I make pretty damn sure what I'm getting when I buy something.

You have no case and you owe gamestop an apology. Words like defraud shouldn't be uttered when the only defrauding going on was god shorting you in the brains department.

Have a nice day!

SOE should think about making the FlashSpeeder deed a veteran reward, similar to the Sorosuub Luxury Yacht.

I very much agree. Everybody should have access to this nice looking, but slow, vehicle. A veteran reward would make the most sense.

The explicit offer was there...they should inform you of the options at the time of purchase (which they didn't so they could make the sale). They relied on people seeing the explicit offer then failed to inform these potential buyers that their offer had changed. They continued to call their offer a "pre-order" and they countinued to take business from a link on the SOE boards that offered a "pre-order bonus"

That is bad business....tell people the offer is over, don't allow them to buy things under false pretenses. They misrepresented what they sold....that is FRAUD.

I can see that your brain doesn't get in the way of what your mouth has to say. And, BTW Have a nice day yourself

If you can, just run to your local EB Games or GameStop shop and ask the clerk behind the counter if they have any extra Beta Disks with the keys. Gave me and my co-worker the disks, no questions asked and for free. These are the disks that have the key for the Flash Speeder.

I had a similar issue with my LucasArts pre-order - however, they resolved it rather nicely, by sending a pre-order key to my e-mail address. No muss, no fuss, nice speeder. In the future, I recommend ordering directly from LucasArts.

again, I pose the question of what you actually saw on their website when making the purchase. You saw no mention of the flash speeder because it wasn't available at the time of your order. They can't be held responsible in any manner for something they have no control over. They committed no fraud. You however, are commiting libel.

Have a nice day!

SOE send me that same link thing saying that if I used this link to go to gamestop to preorder the game I would get a speeder... I trusted that SOE would know what it's doing, didn't check from gamestop site. Obviously, I shouldn't trust SOE then. 25$ for the shipment and it might not even make it here for the weekend...

Well, I didn't read their website carefully :/ shame on me. But on the reciept I got from my preorder (which was dated Oct 20th) it did say they were including the free CD for the Flash Speeder. However, I still haven't gotten any CD so I cannot corroborate whether I got a flash speeder or not. As it was I headed out to a store yesterday and bought a copy after reading that others actually got into the expansion one day before the listed launch. Looks like I lost twice.

same thing happened to me...when I picked it up, I noticed that inside there was no Pre-order certificate. When I walked pack into the store I asked the first person who said that they only had a limited supply of them and they had run out so I didnt get the speeder. Then I threw a big fit in the store, talked to the manager who called in and then reported that even though I had pre-ordered it and been told that I would get the speeder, If I didnt order it by a certain date, I didnt get the speeder.

Unfortunantely I have also pre-ordered EQII from them so I have one last thing to purchase from them, then Im done.....but very bad customer service. Of course Sony or Lucas Arts could step in at this point in time and honor the reward, but I doubt that will happen.

I wish things had been more clear about getting the speeder. I pre-ordered two copies of JtL, one for me and one for my lady. I never bothered to go pick up the beta discs because I was already in beta. Then I read that you needed the beta disc to get the speeder, so I asked for it yesterday when I went to EB to pick up the game. They only had one beta for me. Kinda disappointed.

Devari, on your pending EQ II pre-order I believe that they they do not charge your credit card until the item ships. If I were you I would cancel my order, demand a refund and take my business elsewhere. Unfortunately, they will continue to engage in shady business practices until people wake up. Losing business might speed up the waking up process. Maybe canceling your pending order will prompt them to "do the right thing" and correct their mistake by giving you what they offered in the first place if you pre-ordered.

I really don't think it is too much to ask for a business to inform a potential purchaser that the terms of an offer have changed prior to the actual purchase. Is it? (/rhetorical rant)
