Sorry it was just an idea I'm currently 4/3/4/4 pilot and enjoy my bellabub-22. Maybe if there was more people in space I would fly my X-wing...

YES i want to have Saber block on my JSF. Great idea. And can we make the next 300 publishes and hotfixes to jedi in space. We need more jedi stuff in this game after all they are so rare.
Dunno how I Aced pilot in week 2 of launch with out being able to AFK grind it. Imean having friends help me in a group who would have thought that would be in this game.

For the humor challenged this was a No vote.

I didn't want any of those, I just had an idea for one and only one skill, sorry.

And now they're used by no-talent poons who spent three and a quarter tiers sitting in someone's turret.

Yes your singular skill is to be hunted down in space at any time.

Sounds good to me

What the hell is so bad about flying a JSF or any other ROTW ship if it has batter stats?

Why would I want to fly a Rhyz if my JSF not only gets hit less, because it's so tiny, but can do the equivelant of a revers immelman at near-full speed? I am 4/4/3/3 and I want to Ace the prof ASAP without being shot down? So why would I use a mini-freighter in a dogfight???

I guess its the logic of the thing. its like a 50yr old ship that out does the modern Craft in game. Sort of a WW1 Spad taking out a F117. I aced pre JSF so im jaded I guess.

I've wondered this too, and I've come up with answers. For the JSF and Bellabub-22 outdoing some of the newer ships you have to remember something. The JSF and Bellabub were the ships of the aces. They were used by the jedi, commanders, admirals, and generals. The X-wings and TIEs are used by the regular pilots. That is why they made advanced versions of the newer ships. There are also newer advanced X-wings used by commanders ect. There is the RGI used by royal guards ect. The ARC-170 is an exception. It was a standard ship, yet it is somewhat powerful. But it had two turrets restricted to facing back and only one pilot gun. The X-wing, the newer version of the ARC, gives all the power of the ARC to a single pilot. The turrets are something to miss but having all 3 guns facing forward and in control of the pilot is deadly too. Now, on to the Republic starfighter. As shown in SWBF 2, regular troops had access to this. It is styled like a jedi starfighter. But because of the different name, and the fact that regular troops had access to it, I assume it is weaker. Back to the ARC. I know many people think this should have been an imperial ship because it was a republic ship. But, the people who made the X-wing were imperial scientists who defected to the rebellion. Because the X-wing was based of the ARC, then those scientists must have taken the ARC's blueprints and other neccisities with them. Some of my guesses may be completely wrong but they are good guesses and make feel ok about these new ships. Also, when the devs come up with something, and you don't like it, too bad. Times change and you have to adapt.

Eddie Rickenbacker was a General he flew a Spad. So the F-16 should not be any better as he was a general? However this is not realife it is a game losely based on Star Wars. If they created a ship that had the same everything the JSF has only a different Model say the A wing-z or something modern in theory. Id be totaly fine with the ship. Im a Timeline nut. So Your guess cant be wrong as its more your opinion.

I would think that jedi deserve one space skill to make space just a little more similar to the movies. Nothing too fancy. My idea is that if a jedi is ace pilot they recieve the piloting skill "Missle Prowess". Once you activate this skill, you use the force and get an automatic lock-on onto the next ship you fire your weapons or a missle at until that ship is destroyed. This idea is loosely based on Luke destroying the Death Star. This ability will only be usuable once every 3 hours. Please no flame posts, just an idea.

No... instant lock on missles may not seem like a big deal in PvE but in PvP it would be a cheap "I Win" (in a lot of ways worse than epulse3) power which would chase all non jedi (and frankly most heavy PvP pilots) out of space and then you all would just get board with missleing eachother and stop flying...

Plus I don't think the JTL server keeps track of what you shoot at... but rather what you do damage to.

Good points, nice rejection, I agree.

The ONE skill opens a crack in pandora's box that will lead to MORE skills.

Space contributes nothing to attaining Jedi. So being a Jedi should contribute nothing to space.

On a side note, I'm still trying to figure out how a Shipwright can do Force sensitive crafting quests if he can't converst crafting xp....

Because SW requires artisan, so for the quests they are using their artisan skills. If it had stayed a completely seperate profession as it was in beta, SWs probably wouldn't be able to complete the quests.

gotta disagree here.

jtl is strictly the skill between the seat and keyboard / js. no mods etc. the dev's made that uber clear that jtl would never be anything but twitch based.

First off, I 10000% disagree with the post. There thats out of the way, everyone has said what I feel toward that.

Now onto the JSF/Grevious ship bashers.

These days I use nothing else but the JSF. My first pilot mastery was done before RotW in the Rihkxyrk. (actually still have that old girl somewhere, the pre-mass boost version! Has about 2 hitpoints left on it! lol)

I go to deep space every once in a while, when I do come come across a PVP situation, its either a JSF or a Grevious. It gets pretty darn dull flying round in circles for half an hour I know. Some times I'm sat there thinking "Just stop and get it over with" (to myself, about myself that is!)

But back to my point. I'm asked for help frequently in space. I rarely (if ever) refuse to help someone on "A really hard tier 3 mission".

In my JSF I can 99.999% of the time gaurentee the person who has asked for my assistance that he is going to pass this mission. And get it done quickly and efficiently so the pilot can move on to the next quest. In most cases, I will help the player through all his remining Tier 3 missions.

So does my use of the JSF consitute as wrong because every so often I get tangled up in a spin fest in deep space?

I'm a spacer by nature (especailly since the CU screwed over everything I loved about the ground game) Hell I even respec'd to shipwright from a combat skill once they allowed it (apologies to all the REAL shipwrights that did it the hard and expencive way!)

Where, once again the JSF is a useful tool for my trade. I sell reverse engineered products at a price that I, as a pilot, consider reasonable. (generally around 5k per level IF the part warrents it - somehow a 79 speed Re'd lvl 9 engine DOES NOT warrent a 45k price tag to me when a lvl 6 could easily beat that engine on all stats hands down.) There are shipwrights out there that charge anything up to 15k per lvl of their re'd components, and probably wonder why they are having to try to re-sell them every 30 days. I use the JSF to get space loot, to reverse engineer, to get decent items into the pilot community at a reasonable price. That wrong too?

Okay... Might be a bit of an over reaction to a few bad words sad about the JSF, or rather the Eta-2 Actis Interceptor, a production ship that was in use "Back in the day". But I'm just tired of reading post bashing the Jedi fighter "because its hard to hit" Get in a dog fight with a Red Guard TIE, a fair bit bigger than the Actis but almost NO HIT BOX. A GENUINE reason to complain about a ship from the RotW expansion.

FLAME ON!

Meh... do whatever you want in PvE... but in an organised PvP event understand that a 30 minute turn battle w/o a winner is not "fun".

I have no problem with people who use the JSF, but people who fly it because it "**edit** PWNZOR J00!!!!!!!!!!11" are the ones I take issue with.

Basicaly I don't care what you fly as long as you don't go pokeing around in my heavy X-Wing I will not go messing with your JSF, but in a sproting contest I would like to see those two and a few others left at home honestly. (my first PvP event was definatly an eye opener.)

TheAdvanced X-Wing is balanced VERY nicely by the TIE Advanced, Heavy TIE, Vaksai, and Heavy Scyk. Believe me, I'm damned good with my X-Wing, even with a Level 10 engine with low 80's YPR and Engine Overload 4, those ships are a threat in the turns.

More mass is one thing, but its still an X-Wing, with all the relative maneuvering baggage that goes with it. We're still easier to hit, we're still not the turning machines they are.

I do agree, the Advanced X-Wing could use some weight trimmed off, and a decent chunk at that, to around 130-150k, but its not the dominator you believe it to be in PvP. That's still a small ship's domain, which is why I keep the A-Wing set up and ready to roll on short notice. In PvE, these ships are extremely good, but not perfect. There are duty missions I cannot complete solo in an Advanced X-Wing, so again, while its a little too powerful for what its trying to be, its not the god machine everyone accuses it of being.

PvP is really in two tiers now, the original JTLs and the new heavies against each other. There's some crossover for pilots who are exceptionally talented or exceptionally good with RE luck, but the bar is definitely higher when you deal with an array of ships that give you almost everything you want. If the RG TIE were working properly, 90% of the issues would evaporate and the Imperials would have an awesome Tier 4 heavy to match the Advanced X and the Vaksai.

The Bel and Actis are a completely different problem. They are both smaller than an A-Wing, more agile, yet have the mass approaching that of a heavy starter. No matter what you throw them at, they overmatch it. They're just too much ship for too little effort in attaining them.
