Accually to address the issue of MULTIPLAYER ships I must clarify, the Devs have got this right. If you are grouped with the pilot of a multip ship you will be placed in the same zone I believe (since i have personally done so) however I'm not sure about mixing tier 1 players with players above that point.

I wasn't even taking missions with my friends, we just wanted to go out into space together and shoot stuff. We could not find each other. This needs to be redone.

Well, personally I still don't see a problem with it, since it's only in effect for the duration of the tier1 missions, of which I finished in a couple hours. However, I believe a fair compromise would be to simply allow players who are grouped together to launch into the same space zone as the rest of the group. Think of it like eating at a restaurant. If all of you go to the restaurant seperately you will most likely be seated seperately from everyone else and put wherever the first table opens up at. This can make it difficult to find the rest of your friends (imagine it's a big restauarnt) and usually has you running all over the place trying to find them. But if you all go as one large group and get there at the same time, you will all be seated at the same table without any confusion or hassle.

Yeah it's a bad example, but hey I haven't slept all night lol. Anyway, just let people who are grouped together load into the same zone without any hassle. I'm sure this kind of compromise has been brought up before (probably in this same thread even) but to me it sounds like the most reasonable. SOE still gets to keep the diversion method of helping to balance the server load, and you still get to fly with your friends.

Well now that my XP is capped there is no reason to even play now. Can't train. Can't find my friends in space to help me get past the mission. Can't gain XP... Pointless to even play.

The first time I stopped seeing a system message not saying I was gaining xp, I thought I hit the cap as well, but at the same time I relised, that not enough XP had passed to warrent that cause the cap limit is usually twice as much as you can earn for highest skill box you can train. In that case, I was a total novice freelance fighter 0000 and the exp needed for a skill was 7000 thing the cap is 14000. The messages stopped when I could train one of the skill, yet I kept fighting. Not long after words, I complete all the missions to start training the first level boxes and I could train 2 boxes off the bat and still had some xp left over, 1/3 left over. How ever this was on the very first day the expantion came out, wensday, when most people had not aquired their own copies. I have not played after wensday and read on the boards of updates that I have not read a lot of details about. I assume one of the changes was an XP cap?

LOL. This only effects noobs. Anyone who can make it past Tier 1 doesn't need to worry about this. I think it's a really good idea. I would have hated to launch into space for the first time without having any idea what was going on, and being confused by a ton of people and mission mobs flying around confusing me as well.

"LOL. This only effects noobs. Anyone who can make it past Tier 1 doesn't need to worry about this."

It doesn't only affect noobs, you idiot. It affects everyone who wants to get together with noobs, and also those of us who don't want to shoot stuff. I've been playing this game since June and I have yet to kill anyone or anything. I'm hardly a 'noob' yet because of the way my character behavesI will not be able to get together with other veteran players who do shoot stuff.

Since June 2004, running one of the game's first completely nonviolent characters. Testing the limits of non-combat MMORPG play and trying to have fun into the bargain (although the developers make it difficult).

Combat is no longer compulsory.
