Just too keep the arguing down to a minimum. The game doesnt follow the timeline completely. It has some aspects of everything. It has book inspired parts, movie parts, Creative License areas, and just things that look kewl. If they dont add in the Death Star then thats all good, but if they do its all good as well. Just enjoy that this game is still up and running and its getting better each passing day. So be thankful and stop whining.

When they released the patch to prepare SWG for JtL, "...has destroyed the Death Star." was listed as a badge. It was removed when JtL was released, though.

The only Deathstar that should be in this game is the DS2 being built in that empty sector of Endor, nothing else.
Maybe some huge chunks of the original Deathstar scatted around the galaxy but that really is it.

I say to heck with the time line. Its so far out of wack right now as it is. Technically there shouldent even be jedi, and nowthere is about to be all kinds of episode 3 stuff added to the game. Star Wars is way to big and spread out over way to many years (what like 50 years?) to keep it at one point in time. To many cool things to experiance.

Technically, there should be, namely, the now late Master Obi-Wan Kenobi and MasterYoda. While I will agree that the number of jedi seems to be out of whack with the story line, their existance isn't necessarily so. The galaxy is a very big place, and while Vader and the Emperor did a terrificly effectivejob of hunting down the Jedi from the Republic era, it's very probable that they missed a few (beyond Yoda and Obi-Wan.) This is the fuzzy area that allows the Galaxies developers to include them in the game at this point.
As for the addition of "all kinds of episode 3 stuff" I can only imagine that you're referring to the planet Kashyyyk and/or the Jedi Starfighter. There's nothing wrong with adding things from the past unless it was obvious they were completely destroyed (as was Alderaan and the Death Star.) Certainly Kashyyyk was around after Episode IV, as it was prominently featured in the lamental Star Wars Holiday Special (where do you think your Life Day orbs are from?)
Even a few of the Jedi Starfighters could, like the Jedi who once flew them, still be mothballed on a remote planet somewhere. These are both changes that fit in nicely with the movie timeline, and they don't require the type of drastic alterations that something such as bringing a moon-sized battle station instantlyback from the dead would.
There is a lot of grey area in the timeline between Eps. IV & V and this is probably why the developers chose this period for the start of the game. It gives them a lot of room for content while at the same time, providing players the chance to take part in the story with which they are familiar.

Still room in there for other Jedi, IMO. If Vader, who could usethe Forceopenly and had all the resources of the Empire to aid him in his search for Jedi, could miss both Obi-Wan and Yoda, then it's very likely that there still may have been Jedi of which Yoda was unaware.
Personally, I would have been much happier if they had postponed making Jedi available until after the Episode VI storyline had been completed. That would have, in my opinion, made the most sense. But I also understand that most Star Wars fans want to play as Jedi, and that SOE had to balance the storyline with the very strong desire to play Jedi that the players have.

Nawchir,
5 stars.
This game is so far from the movies timeline its not even funny. It wasnt even close to it at launch. This game is extended universe, and at that, an alternate one.
Sure having another death star would be wrong for the timeline but sure sounds like a hell of a lot of fun to me in a video game. If I was imp, i'd love the thought of defending the death star as it blows the hell out of a garrison or planet.
From the allicance player perspective, blowing up the death star sounds like too much fun. This is the kind of thing people invision theyll be able to do while sitting in line at the store to buy the game in the first place.
Personally, I'd love to see it. I might even make an imperial alt for once just to have a chance at seeing what its like to defend a massive flying space station.

Continuity aspects aside, there is a very large technical problem with the Death Star or a SSD:
The very large technical problem namely being the fact that they are very large. A sector which contains Death Star I would have to be 421 times the size of current space sectors. So basically attacking the death star under the curent system would be equivalent to getting in a fight with one edge of a cube that happens to be shooting you. How fun.
A SSD wouldn't fit into a current space sector because they themselves are 12km long and I'm not sure if there is a normal space sector that would allow one of the things to fit, as space tends to be packed rather denselywith asteroid fields, nebulae, and inexplicably immobile curved metal objects.

Well, according to a mixture of in-game lore and general Star Wars lore, we can derive this:
We are partway between Episode IV and V. The first Death Star was JUST blown up. They're still working out the bugs in the system and revamping it to make it work better and not be quite so vulnerable. From in game we hear that the Empire has just recently started to take an interest in Endor, thus they are likely scouting it out as a potential building site. Thus, the Death Star does not exist yet.
On a side note, if you don't want people harping on you about your grammer, at least TRY and make your posts look half-coherent. This is the internet, no one expects perfect grammar and spelling, but posts with that many grammar/spelling errors in it are just ASKING to get flamed.
