ok i have a solution for you that most PVPer's used on me when PVEer's said this old system was bogus, i think it applies here again..
if you dont like the JTL system... dont play it.

Yeah it basically decended into an argument about 'you' Vs the community sort of thing. Where ones personal opinions should be guaged against how they will effect the majority (in reference to being forced into PvP).
For example i would love to be the only jedi on any server in the game, simply because i like to idea of playing a character that can be 'alone' and unique. However this is not a single player game and only having me be THE jedi makes no sense and will negatively effect other people's opinions. I was basically voicing this concern that people were esentualy forcing other players to do things they wont enjoy or they would not have a role in the GCW.

i have complained about this too and have been mislead. there is no reason why i should have to pvp if all i want to do is pve, ive tried pvp before and died in, literally, 10 seconds.
as far as neutrals flying factional craft. part of a star wars experience is knowing that people scrounge, and that people can get their hands on anything. including x-wings and tie fighters. its just a fact. im afraid that some people will just have to comprimise.

my reason that PVP choice is better is simple.
i am not saying that PVP is bad, what i dont like it being forced into PVP because that is not how i, or most others play. i have tried my hand at PVP on the ground. i didnt die all the time and it was fun sometimes when i was playing against polite players. but PVP is just not my style. it is also not the style for most others.
what i do think is wrong is forcing PVE players into PVP. that should not happen, i dont understand why PVPer's like to kill PVEer's if you like to PVP then PVP against others that wish to.
in space. PVE players should also get a chance to participate in the Star Warsy feel by flying whatever ship they want, i said this in another post.. Players will have a tough enough time fighting the waves of NPC ties and all the NPC rebs out there without having to wory about also having to deal with a PVPer who just happened to see him shooting at NPC's if they wanted to worry about that they would have chosen to play Overt.
people have to compromise. for example i dont like that there are so many jedi in the ground game. not because it ruins the continuity or that its hard to PVP against them... i just dont like Jedi. but i dont complain about it, i ignore them when i see them.
so if you are Overt in space, and you see a Covert opposite faction player shooting down NPC's youll just have to ignore it.
saying that the new system takes away the star warsy feel from the PVP players doesnt make sense. because the old system would keep the star warsy feel away from the PVE players...not allowing them also to fly Xwing or Ties.
i understand that you dont want to have to see NPC's going down without being able to "help' them and kill whoever gets a TEF.
but should PVPer's only attack others that WANT to PVP?? that makes sense to me.
you WILL get to attack other players. but they have to be Overt. and youll get PVP zones where you can attack and kill anyone there. that seems like a good deal to me. seeing as how most PVE players wont even come close to those zones.

i have never EVER said there should be NO PVP... all i said was to restrict PVP to players that want to play that way, thats all. im not saying PVP should be abolished.
