Thread: Vehicles
Does anyone know what type and quantity of resources are needed for vehicles?
Will lower quallity resources effect vehicle attributes?
Just so I know, you do need master artisan to craft them right?
Thanks

All of the information you are seeking has been there for two weeks.
Today I was excited to come home from work to make a vehicle for myself. I spent sometime on Test to try them out I was extremely impressed with them. They move smoothly and fast. Then the new that it would be only a master skill. Even better I thought, even though it wasn't going to be a Master Droid Engineer skill I was happy that it was still a higher level skill.
So I log in and take out my R3 to craft a swooper, to my surprise there was nothing to the schematic. All it does is eat resources. There is no skill involved in making them, just dump all you steel and aluminum into it and your done. This is upsetting, since there should be some skill required to make them, why not require master artisan parts to be in them? Why not have any parts in them? it takes me less then a minute to make about 4 vehicles. Shouldn't a factory be involved in the process of making the vehicle?
Anyways that was just the tip of the iceberg. I remember when mounts came out and every CH in the world tried to sell me a Khadu for 80k. What? I said. Your joking? I said no thanks, I can wait a week. I waited and now friends just can't give them away fast enough. So I head to Coronet starport on my new Swooperbike. I pull into a mess, vehicles everywhere. Hmm why isn't anyone storing their vehicles? Well as I soon found out, cause we can't store them. So you might want to take the shuttle or you vehicle will sit there and burn up. Well then I am thinking, "What should I charge?" well here I start thinking that a normal person sells resources at 3 cpu and a speederbike takes 6k of resources, well that would be 18k just for a no profit sale. Then maybe I would add alittle for my making it. Then I look around and I see 5 different people yelling, "Vehicles for 10K". You have got to be kidding me? I can't even buy the resources to make a vehicle for that price.
So now I stand here and decide, why bother? I'm not in the market to lose money. I'm not here to rape people for money, but a small profit would be nice, since this is the way a artisan makes their credits. No one is selling steel anymore, cause it has all be used.
If you want a vehicle, I will make it, but you have to provide the materials. I would love to make a vehicle for you, but losing credits to make them isn't my idea of a good time. Bring the resources and maybe a nice smile and I will make you a great vehicle.
Um is anyone else having this problem with their vehicles...
1) Cant seem to store it. I mean it's in the datapad, and I can call it up, at which point I now have 2 Swoops!!, either one I can ride. I can store the 2nd one, but can not store the 1st swoop (the original). Am I storing it, and the 'ghost' image on the screen is just that?
2) Because I can't store it, if i wait by the vehicle (completely in the clear, not near any thing else...and no one is damaging the vehicle in any way) it begins to degrade. What i mean is, I'm standing by my vehicle attempting to figure out how to store it (ie make the graphic disapear)...and all of a sudden a -25 appears over the swoop, and its damaged (maybe the engine is overheating ), and If I continue to wait, in time it continues to degrade...this is not a quick thing, we're talking 10 mins go by or so...
Just wanting to know If its hitting anyone else...

Haha! Bugs! Bugs!!
Your "degrading" bike is because everytime you call it, you take 25 points damage on it. Even though the ghost never stored, the system recorded the hits as you cycled trying to store it. When the ghost clears, check how much damage you have on your "real" bike.
And NPC aggroing vehicles as if they are pets. Oh that's wonderful. And I'm sure that nevershowed up during testing. Good one.
I was under the impression that vehicles being targetted by NPCs was intended.
Sort of like how a player would react, by griefing you as much as possible because his daddy doesn't pay any attention to him.
The problem with the ghosted bikes is a strange one. I have found that in a couple of instances, my bike has actually regained some of its condition when I have called it a second time. Damage it took previously has been restored when calling a new one. Odd....
As for mobs aggro'ing vehicles, IMHO this is correct. If you were fighting somebody who turned up for the brawl on a shiny new bike and you managed to duff him up, wouldn't you trash his motor aswell ? I know I would......![]()
the "Damage" you see is your Bike using up Fuel or someting. it's perfektly normal loosing condition. YOu can Repair it in one of the NPC-Citys using the radial Menu near a Garage.
If your Vehicle get Disabled it's gone forever! No way to repair it anymore!!! So better park you vehicles 100 meters away from you missions ![]()
