Not to mention, you open up starship xp to conversion, and the "I'll just grind master in less than an hour" shipwrights will come forward wanting the same ratio as any other crafter.
People just don't seem to view this as a multi-tiered issue that will just get progressively worse if implemented:
1. You start off by making starship xp convertible.
2. Shipwrights complain, so conversion ratios are added for them as well in a hotfix.
3. Seeing the attitude of appeasement, the "JEDI SHOULD GET SPACE SKILLS" advocates start opening their beaks, waiting for their allotment of regurgitated content from the Devs.
4. While the Devs shake the #3s off their legs for the next few months following their concessions, everyone and their cousin's uncle become Jedi or fully-force sensitive.
#4 might be inevitable as more and more people start questioning "what the hell is there left to do in this game," but as it is now the "critical mass" point in this game is about six months off. Implementing starship-to-FS xp conversion would light the fire NOW.

Plain and simple ..the reasons why Jedi cannot convert space xp...
1. In space, if you die, you currently lose nothing. No xp loss for Jedi. The risk that you would normally have on the ground does not exist. Penalty thus circumvented.
2. Bounty hunters cannot hunt you in space (for those of you swinging sabers). You're in a safety zone. Thus, second downside to doing Jedi stuff, circumvented.
3. Xp to time ratiogains in space are too high to allow it. You can get 1 million space xp in an hour. You cannot get 1 million xp on the ground, no matter where you are or what you're doing.
4. The majority of the playerbase do not want to see Jedi in space doing anything special. If Jedi get this xp conversion request, many will see it as a first step toward much more. Generally, moving toward ruining space much as Jedi have done to the ground game.

Can someone explain DarthDominus that FS xp and jedi xp are different ?
That won't change anything for jedi since they don't need FS xp at all...
SO that doesn't change anything to bounty hunter and XP loss, ok ?
Well, now... Why can you only say "no because it's too easy to get"...
Or ask 1000:1 ratio...
I just did the math for you that with a 30:1 ratio it takes the same time to make xp than chaining mobs... Except you can't macro it...
And on top of that I ask for a 50:1 ratio, to make sure it's slower...
About the "cannot get 1 million xp on the ground in 1 hour", yeah... I only got 900k, + 90k weapon xp, in that hour -_- Wich is "only" 1,8 million xp if you convert it all in weapon xp...
I already said this wasn't a real argument... If you can proof you can make a lot more than 1 million in 1 hour at master level, ok, ratio can be tuned... I can proof i can cap my unarmed xp in less than 1h30 with just a buff and a VK... Yeah, it only took me 1 VK to fill 2 full branches, so don't say it costs a lot in armors... 6k for that VK, what a deal... I already spentmore than 1 million to buy chassis and components, just to rise to master pilot, and I'll prolly spent another million to reach master...
So come on, don't you have anything right to tell ? I'm ready to listen to everything, but please not "space xp is too easy to get"... If you can'tgive any good reasonto avoid space xp conversion, then I guess there's none...
Edit : 5 stars for Eme, didn't think about answering it too... Yeah, both games should definitely be mixed, but not giving an unfair advantage... Althout no chance that SOE works to create space missions for ppl who do not have JTL, why would they ? ^_^

Of course, I'm sure there's a perfect explanation that you and "Eme" type the exact same way in the exact same syntax.
Either way, both of you need a visit from the Paragraph and Punctuation Fairies. I let grammar slide now in the interest of English not being some people's first language, but nothing excuses bad grammar, no matter what the language or dialect.

Well... Maybe I could make an effort next time... I'm French, yeah...
But I doubt it's the only reason why people don't even read what I wrote, and keep giving the same useless arguments...
Next time I'llmake better

i think this is their bighgest mistake, they would still get the missions, so they would have to find pilots, ( like star wars ), but where they dont have JTL, they only get to go passenger, would increase the need for multi use,,, would give NON JTL owners a bigtease of space, its going to make them want to get their own ships more than anything else....

I dont agree with space xp to convert but I do agree with shipwright xp to convert. Shipwright has nothing to do with space same and more painful compared to other crafting proffessions.

I see no reason why you shouldn't be able to use space exp as force exp. Jedi's used their skills to pilot their ships, fly pod racers, blow up deathstars, etc. However it is a good point since pilot costs no skill points, you shouldn't be able to benefit from space exp conversion.
I think a good compromise is a high conversion ratio. 100-1, 200-1 might work.

If they were to add conversion in at a 1000:1 ratio, I guarantee you people would complain. I can foresee the comments now: "WOW, THANKS FOR NOTHING, DEVS" "OMG what the hell is this 500/1000:1 stuff!?!?!"
Loose translation - "We wanted it at 30:1 because we want to master an entire FS tree in a day."
This isn't a logical argument - at the root of this people just want to whiz around and make Jedi with little to no effort. Note no one's commented on my 1000:1 ratio - the only one I've been hearing from the proponents is 30:1 granted for weapons xp (and a few crackpots have even been tossing out the 3:1 combat xp ratio), and that's unacceptable with how phenomenally and insultingly easy it is to get starship combat xp.

I gained one million pilot exp in an hour doing tier 4 duty missions..... one million in an hour. Did you hear me right?
ONE MILLION IN AN HOUR!!!!!!!!!!
That's why. NO other profession can you get that much exp. Touch pilot exp for force exp, and you just killed the whole reason why there's a village in the first place.
Ahh Ehmmm .
I gain 900k unarmed and 900k one handed xp (1.8 million total) PLUS180K Combatxp (traded at 3:1) in 2 hours. In case you can't do the math, that's 120k Force xp and the1 million Pilot xp converted at the same rate is 33k force xp.
So Ground xp is faster, the big differenceI find is Space xp a lot more fun to get then ground xp, but then; WHY SHOULD GAMES BE FUN?<----------- Insert sarcasim here

1000-1 maybe not such a bad idea. Basically the whole force exp conversion is meant to award force exp for time played doing various tasks. Space exp should be allowed with an appropriate conversion to award around 2-3k of Force Exp per hour.

Yes I to think it should be allowed, but at a reasonable conversation ratio. The Jedi works for his/her xp just like you do, and should be able to use it as they wish, but it should be(oh no not the WORD) balanced.

I don't care if they make it so it takes 3x as long to grind it in space, I should be able to turnspace XP (space combat or faction prestige) in for force sensitive (NOT Jedi) XP. It is the only part of the game that is fun for me.
