i found this in the yavin system during an escort run
it appears to have a bunch of engines on the back, linked to a giant disk on the front with a glowing ring

Not photoshop, ive seen it ingame also, i think mabye 3-4 times. Was always too busy to stop and look close.

Yea I saw it in a mission, onceI completed it I tried to find it to take a closer look but couldn't find it anymore.

its not photoshoped its in game, i saw it atleast once, dont know if its background or an object you can go around though

It's an asteroid with a miningstructure on it, if I remember right. The big metal thing is a mining machine. Depending on how big the asteroid is, the metal thing could be a full mining outpost... but I don't think I've seen an asteroid in JtL that big...

let me answer all of your questions
-it is not backround, it is a real object in the zone, i'llpost another pic later of me close up to it
-it's not a POI, i was lucky to find it
-it's not a mining machine, those worts on its back are engines

Yeah, I've seen the thing too in-game before. Flew around pretty close to it. It's big. Took about 10 seconds to fly around it. No clue what it is. As for faction affiliation, no clue either. There wasn't anything defending it.

in tatooine in space there is a poi named jabbas rock or astroid i forget.
I know because i have been doing all the poi's in space.
and this thing looks just like it. if ya dont belive me go to space in tatooine and do the jabbas rock or astroid not the claim one becuase its next to space and all it has is an informant.
