It's not the first, nor will it be the last.

I already made a lot of comments about this. I saw PA buff bots before player cities were on live, and I don't think it's that big of a deal if PA mule accounts are set up to buff in their city's cantina like this... but in big city cantinas, it's a very big deal. I just don't understand why the dancer posts about this aren't talking about the impact this will have on income. The musician thread about this turned to money pretty fast, but the one here just talked about the spamming.

I know it's a little tacky to talk about money, but really, all other classes have either things to sale or combat missions to roll. Even if ent mishes get "fixed", how much money are we talking about here? Will it be based on skill level? Will the Musician/Dancer/Ent get a bonus for each class?

Am I the only posting dancer that cares about having money?

So much effort into not playing the game, and encouraging others to not play as well. I have seen the death of my profession, and I have become a museum piece.

To be honest, buffing has never been my big income. I've never had a big money problem either. However, theres no other comments from me because this isn't anything new.. We're already used to the fact that these macros do everything we can do as far as most players are concerned. Complaining about being useless doesn't get things fixed.

I make *most* of my money buffing. When I travelled to places like Dantooine, where people are fighting and needing healing, and I talked to them and asked how their hunt was going, staying there a long boring time I would finally get enough to cover the cost of my starship fare. I make a lot more money now dancing in Theed buffing, and in Theed I get to be with other entertainers.

If most players were used to buff bots being in the main cantinas already, I don't think we would hear "Is anyone buffing?" in them as commonly as we do, nor would I get tells from people who have done a Master Dancer search asking for buffs. The people who have had access to a PA buff bot don't even expect to find one away from home yet it seems like.

I think most of my tips are for being a good chatter and a nice person, but still the main thing someone walks up to me and asks for is a buff. I have a very nice little client base that takes care of me, but they would most likely let me come along on mishes even if I was no longerdancing just because they like me. It doesn't really say anything about our tipping system though does it?

I know you are actively trying to get some help with the afk situation, but nothing so far has been said directly about our earning potential. Just because some of us are very social and getting by that way or counting on another class to earn our money, doesn't mean the system is working and doesn't need to be reassessed does it? o.o

lol, well good then Tiaga, maybe my nervousness about this becoming a normal and expected thing is unfounded. If there are 30 buff bots in every cantina and I am still getting just as many buff requests as I do now, then I wouldn't mind it at all (as long as they are quiet ).

It is rare now... But if people get used to it, it will be less so. It's like the whole AFK thing to begin with... It only spreads and gets more common.

I can explain the reason myself. I ran an experiment by creating a similar macro for healing. I setup a medic in the theed med center and started a set of macros. One would accept group invites, one would do a healwound and tendwound every 30 seconds, and one would give brief instructions every half hour. Then I sat and watched.

Lots of people came in. However in the week I was doing this, I only healed about 10-15 people. Most people didn't figure out how to use the service. Once people got it, they would go in and as soon as they saw me would send an invite. But I only remember two people ever getting to that point. If you go into a crowded cantina, how will you know if any of them are a buff-bot? Answer is you don't. Just as people would go and stand right next to me in the med center and shout asking for healing, people will walk into a cantina with a buff bot and shout asking if anyone is buffing. Heck, people have enough trouble even looking in the cantina for a healer/buffer, and instead think they always have to shout at some of the outposts.
