Did they ever fix Ship Control Delta (analog Stick-Axis)?

Here's the link to what I mean:

http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=lightspeed&message.id=182796#M182796

I have Ship Throttle Delta bound to the analog throttle wheel (not sure of the axis number off the top of my head) on my Logitech Freedom 2.4 Cordless Joystick and never had any problems with it, throttle seems perfectly responsive and I'm able to fine-tune the throttle enough that I can generally match speeds with NPC and (slower) PC ships without having to use the M key.

I've been using my Logitech joystick since last September and its still going strong, although for some reason I've always had good luck with all my electronic equipment over the years heheh

As far as the situation someone mentioned with not being able to move right, I have issues once in a while with the centering getting out of whack, so that I'm drifting one way and can't move the other, but it's remedied quickly by simply unplugging from the USB port for a minute and plugging it back in.

Well, I really think it depends on the player and the equipment settings.

I did fine with the mouse up until 4-3-3-3, but then I really needed the joystick to get to a point where I was responsive enough to be competitive in PvE and PvP.

The single most important thing I found was the ability to twist the joystick and gain the ability to really spin my ship around quick.

HAHAHA, I'd LOVE to BE a dev in Pvp.

Some poor guy: "HAHAH, I'm kicking some poor noob named Thunderheart! He really sucks at pvp, now I'm going to finis..hey what the..DISCONNECTED! THATS NEVER HAPPENED! NOOO"

LOL, so that DID happen at the end of JtL.

We did a "Kill a Dev" event and it was a riot! I couldn't spawn fast enough. I'd show up and a storm of lasers would cut me to shreds in about 5 seconds. Re-spawn and repeat.

The best I could do was evade and run, which, in the asteroid field was a lot of fun

QFE. I use a combination of the Cyborg EVO and a Nostromo N50 SpeedPad. Works very well.

Cool. How do you have everything mapped out?

kmasterjedi wrote:

Sure thing! And you can remap any of the commands by going into your Options window (CTRL-O) and click the "Keymap" button on the left. You should see a space tab there.

Cool, TH uses the same joystick as me.

A mouse may have a slight advantage in accuracy, but the ability to manage throttle, and roll with everything right at your fingers is an advantage as well.I remapped the "optional" joystick buttons to match speed, targetting components, and switching between weapon groups. Though out of all of those the throttle bar is probably the most helpful. Lot of myfriends who use the mouse have complained about overshootingenemies ina high speed turning game. But I'd have to agree that its all up to personal preference.

Though if you're looking to start using a joystick I'd recommend anywith a roll axis (twists) and throttle control.

Happy hunting.

Me too - the ability to twist the joystick for rolling was key for me.

I remember that event - was fun. I had been testing shipwright and only had a low level pilot, so joined up with a few devs above tatooine and ran as cannon fodder for them.

Do you, or anyone else, have any problems with the throttle control being in the middle of the base instead of to the side?
It's just a complaint that I read from a few reviewers and I could see how that would be annoying...

I use an Extreme Logitech 3D Pro myself and I love it... except when it starts getting screwy on me and I have to unplug it and throw it through the window before it starts working properly again.

So, do any of you find the Cyborg's Throttle control to be poorly located?

ROFLMAO!! I have the Logitech too, and dam that thing can get annoying when it decided to flake out. Otherwise, I love it. I think it get's screwey on me when I plug/unplug a gamepad a few times. Doesn't seem to like that too much.

Logitech Wingman Strike Force 3D here.

I love the force feedback, but I have to recalibrate FAR too often.

Thinking about upping to the Saitek X-52, but I think I would really miss the immersion of force feedback. Hrmm.

I personally do not have any problem with where the throttle control is located on the Cyborg Evo. Do I wish it was more to the right side of the joystick (Ima lefty )? Yes. But do I have any problem with where it is located now? Not at all. In fact, I never really thought about it's location until now lol.

I have had absolutely zero problems with this joystick (knock on wood). Like any joystick, it takes a bit to get the feel of it down, but never in a million years would I ever even consider going back to the mouse for JtL after using a joystick.

Saitek X45 ftw!

I love this joystick and having such easy control over the throttle is great, not to mention the rudder buttons that server as "roll" in JtL. I have everything I use even semi-regularly mapped to it, including a custom bind for Ventrilo so I can actually communicate with people while doing space.
